유한요소 모델 개선 프로그램 개발 (Development of finite element model updating program)

  • The finite element analysis (FEA) is widely used in modem structural dynamics because the performance of structure can be predicted in early stage. However, due to the difficult in determination of various uncertain parameters, it is not be easy to obtain a reliable finite element model. To overcome these difficulties, updating program of FE model is developed by consisting of pretest, correlation and updating. In correlation, it calculates modal assurance criteria, cross orthogonality, mixed orthogonality and coordinate modal assurance criteria. For the model updating, the continuum sensitivity analysis and design optimization tool (DOT) are used. The SENSUP program is developed for model updating to obtain physical parameter sensitivity. The developed program is applied to practical examples such as the base plate of HDD, BLDC spindle motor, and upper housing of induction motor. And the sensor placement for the square plate is compared using several methods.

  • Due to improve form accuracy and surface roughness of a aspheric lens core that is made of Ni, the study is carried out on localization about a Subminiature Optics of Proximity and Wide Field of View. The required form accuracy P-V $0.2{\mu}m$ and surface roughness is Ra 10 nm. The design of experiment(DOE) is adopted to find a optimal cutting conditions which are spindle speed, depth of cut, feedrate. Finally, the effects of this study are replacing importation and strengthening competitiveness through the localization of the Subminiature Optics of Proximity and Wide Field of View.

  • To make high precision cutting of long materials or a piston for the engines, it must be necessary to keep the stability of spindle and tail stock in CNC lathe. If a object is clamped at the ends, the thermal expansion and cutting generated in cutting process appear as the deflection of in cuttings objects. Especially, of a piston ring, piston ovality and piston profile, the influences are very serious. In order to solve the problems most of piston cutting are worked in simply support.   • In this paper, an impulse of an industrial chop Saw is identified by experimental method and the impulse is reduced by structural modification. For the impulse identification, vibration signals are measured by an accelerometer when the chop saw is operating. From some experiments, it is found that the impulse occurs when there is slip between spindle and the wheelwasher and contact area is small between the wheelwasher and cutting discs. The design of the wheelwasher for optimization is performed by the FEM and experiments and the prototype is manufactured. It is verified that considerable amount of impulses are reduced by the structural modification.

  • This research investigates the characteristicsw of NRRO in a 2.5" HDD by using FEM, modal testing and runout analysis, and reduces NRRO using visco-elastic damping material. Most frequency components of NRRO are generated by the defects of ball and rotating race, and they can be determined by the kinematic analysis of ball bearing. It also proposes the novel design of a spindle motor that can reduce NRRO effectively by inserting the visco-elastic damping material to one of the transmission path of NRRO, i.e., where the strain energy is highly concentrate. By this technique, NRRO is reduced by 27%. 27%.

Structural Characteristic Analysis of a High-precision Centerless Grinding Machine with a Concrete-filled Bed

  • High-precision centerless grinding machines are emerging as a means of finishing the outer diameter grinding process required for ferrules, which are widely used as fiber optic connectors. In this study, a structural characteristic analysis and evaluation were carried out using a virtual prototype of a centerless grinding machine to realize systematic design technology and performance improvements required to manufacture ferrules. The prototype consisted of a concrete-filled bed, hydrostatic grinding wheel (GW) and regulating wheel (RW) spindle systems, a hydrostatic RW feed mechanism, a RW swivel mechanism, and on-machine GW and RW dressers. The loop stiffness values of the centerless grinding machine were estimated based on the relative displacements between the GW and RW caused by grinding forces. The simulated results illustrated that a concrete-filled bed considerably improved the structural stiffness and accuracy of a high-precision centerless grinding machine.

  • The aspherical lens are used as objective lens of optical pickup. The sample product is made before manufacturing the injection mould of lens to examine the design factor. The optimum cutting conditions of the main spindle speed, the depth of cut, the feed rate are found when we cut PMMA and PC lens sample with ultra-precision SPDT. The demanded surface roughness 10 nm Ra, aspherical form error 0.5 ${\mu}m$ P-V for aspherical lens of optical data storage device are satisfied for PMMA, but not satisfied for PC.

  • A frequency-domain PES estimation and its prediction method are proposed for the tightly-coupled servo/mechanical design of high-TPI HDD system above 100kTPI. The major two disturbance energies which are related with mechanical vibrations inside of HDD are used to predict the drive-level PES, while considering closed-loop servo dynamics. One is the torque disturbance which mainly comes from aerodynamic excitation of HSA system and the other is the displacement disturbance from disk-spindle dynamics. (omitted)

  • In order to satisfy the customer's variant needs for a product quality in recent years, a demand for developing higher precision machining technologies in a lot of application areas such as automobile, cellular phone and semiconductor has been increased more and more. Micro-magnetic induced polishing(${\mu}-MIP$) process is one of these precision technologies. In this study, to verify the parameters' effect of the ${\mu}-MIP$ process on the surface roughness improvement of the inclined workpiece, well planned experiment which was called the design of experiments was carried out. Considered parameters were spindle speed, inductor current, abrasive configuration and working gap between the workpiece and the solid tool. As a result, it was seen that the inductor current and the working gap greatly affected the surface roughness improvement. And to predict the surface roughness of the inclined workpiece, S/N ratio and first-order response surface model was developed.
