This study is purported for suggesting a new clustering algorithm that enables incremental categorization of numerous documents. The suggested algorithm adopts the natures of the spherical k-means algorithm, which clusters a mass amount of high-dimensional documents, and the fuzzy ART(adaptive resonance theory) neural network, which performs clustering incrementally. In short, the suggested algorithm is a combination of the spherical k-means vector space model and concept vector and fuzzy ART vigilance parameter. The new algorithm not only supports incremental clustering and automatically sets the appropriate number of clusters, but also solves the current problems of overfitting caused by outlier and noise. Additionally, concerning the objective function value, which measures the cluster's coherence that is used to evaluate the quality of produced clusters, tests on the CLASSIC3 data set showed that the newly suggested algorithm works better than the spherical k-means by 8.04% in average.
Many interesting properties of a space curve C in E$^3$ may be investigated by means of the concept of spherical indicatrix of tangent, principal normal, or binormal, to C. The purpose of the present paper is to derive the representations of the Frenet frame field., curvature, and torsion of spherical indicatrix to C in terms of the quantities associated with C. Furthermore, several interesting properties of spherical indicatrix are found in the present paper.
In the 2020s, the K-Pop market has been dominated by girl groups over boy groups and the fourth generation over the third generation. This paper presents methods and results on lyric clustering to investigate whether the generation of girl groups has started to change. We collected meta-information data for 1469 songs of 47 groups released from 2013 to 2022 and classified them into lyric information and non-lyric meta-information and quantified them respectively. The lyrics information was preprocessed by applying word-translation frequency vectorization based on previous studies and then selecting only the top vector values. Non-lyric meta-information was preprocessed and applied with One-Hot Encoding to reduce the bias of using only lyric information and show better clustering results. The clustering performance on the preprocessed data is 129%, 45% higher for Spherical K-Means' Silhouette Score and Calinski-Harabasz Score, respectively, compared to Hierarchical Clustering. This paper is expected to contribute to the study of Korean popular song development and girl group lyrics analysis and clustering.
Prediction of the maximum packing volume fraction with non-spherical particles has been one of the important problems in powder technology. The sphericity of fly ash particles depending on the particle diameter was measured by means of a CCD image processing instrument. An algorithm to predict the maximum packing volume fraction with non-spherical particles is proposed. The maximum packing volume fraction is used to predict the slurry viscosity under well dispersed conditions. For this purpose, Simha's cell model is applied for concentrated slurry with wide particle size distribution. Also, Usui's model developed for aggregative slurries is applied to predict the non-Newtonian viscosity of dense fly ash - water slurry. It is certified that the maximum packing volume fraction for non-spherical particles can be successfully used to predict slurry viscosity. The pressure drop in a pipe flow is predicted by using the non-Newtonian viscosity of dense fly ash-water slurry obtained by the present model. The predicted relationship between pressure drop and flow rate results in a good agreement with the experimented data obtained for a test rig with 50 mm inner diameter tube. Base on the design procedure proposed in this study, a feasibility study of fly ash hydraulic transportation system from a coal-fired power station to a controlled deposit site is carried out to give a future prospect of inexpensive fly ash transportation technology.

One of the major limitations of productivity and quality in metal cutting is the machining accuracy of machine tools. The machining accuracy is affected by geometric errors, thermally-induced errors, and the deterioration of the machine tools. Geometric and thermal errors of machine tools should be measured and compensated to manufacture high quality products. In metal cutting, the machining accuracy is more affected by thermal errors than by geometric errors. This paper models the thermal errors for error analysis and develops an on-the-machine measurement system by which the volumetric errors are measured and compensated. The thermal error is modeled by means of angularity errors of a column and thermal drift error of the spindle unit which are measured by the touch probe unit with a star type styluses and a designed spherical ball artifact (SBA). Experiments show that the developed system provides a high measuring accuracy, with repeatability of $\pm$2$\mu\textrm{m}$ in X, Y and Z directions. It is believed that the developed measurement system can be also applied to the machine tools with CNC controller. In addition, machining accuracy and product quality can be also improved by using the developed measurement system when the spherical ball artifact is mounted on a modular fixture.
In this sturdy, spherical activated carbon(SPAC) contained $TiO_2$ was made by ion-exchanged treatment and heat treatment for applying fluidizing bed system. The ion-exchange resin was treated by $TiCl_3$ aqueous solution. The treated resin and raw resin were heat-treated under nitrogen condition to convert into Ti-SPAC. During the heat-treatment, burn-off weight amounts and the element were measured by means of TGA and TGA/MS, individually. The physicochemical properties of Ti-SPAC was characterized by means of XRD, SEM, EDS, BET, EPMA, ESR, intensity and titanium content. The Ti-SPAC had spherical shape with diameter size about $350{\mu}m{\sim}400{\mu}m$ and $617m^2/g$ specific surface area. Structure of $TiO_2$ in Ti-SPAC was anatase and rutile form. Also, $TiO_2$ on SPAC were found that the $TiO_2$ were uniformly distributed through EPMA analysis. Moreover, the Ti-SPAC showed indirect photocatalyst activity estimation through ESR analysis, characteristics of photocatalyst potentially. Over all results, Ti-SPAC was used in fluidizing bed UV/photocatalyst system to remove HA(Humic Acid). That results were HA removal efficiency was about 70% and Ti-SPAC intensity was preserved during reaction. Ti-SPAC showed practical possibility as photocatalyst in fluidizing bed system.

In this paper, we present an algorithm for the analysis of poses while playing table-tennis using action recognition. We use Kinect as the 3D sensor and 3D skeleton data provided by Kinect for further processing. We adopt a spherical coordinate system and feature selected using k-means clustering. We automatically detect the starting and ending frame and discriminate the action of table-tennis into two groups of forehand and backhand swing. Each swing is modeled using HMM(Hidden Markov Model) and we used a dataset composed of 200 sequences from two players. We can discriminate two types of table tennis swing in real-time. Also, it can provide analysis according to similarities found in good poses.

K-means is one of the simplest unsupervised learning algorithms that solve the clustering problem. However K-means suffers the basic shortcoming: the number of clusters k has to be known in advance. In this paper, we propose extensions of X-means, which can estimate the number of clusters using Bayesian information criterion(BIC). We introduce two different versions of algorithm: modified X-means(MX-means) and generalized X-means(GX-means), which employ one full covariance matrix for one cluster and so can estimate the number of clusters efficiently without severe over-fitting which X-means suffers due to its spherical cluster assumption. The algorithms start with one cluster and try to split a cluster iteratively to maximize the BIC score. The former uses K-means algorithm to find a set of optimal clusters with current k, which makes it simple and fast. However it generates wrongly estimated centers when the clusters are overlapped. The latter uses EM algorithm to estimate the parameters and generates more stable clusters even when the clusters are overlapped. Experiments with synthetic data show that the purposed methods can provide a robust estimate of the number of clusters and cluster parameters compared to other existing top-down algorithms.

Viscous fermented red ginseng extracts were dried and coated using a fluidized bed coater to increase convenience and consumer acceptance. The methods for making spherical granules of fermented red ginseng extracts with increasing convenience were established by using indigestible dextrin. Spherical granules of fermented red ginseng extracts with increasing convenience were made by mixing indigestible dextrin at 40% (40% IDD), 50% (50% IDD), and 60% (60% IDD) versus the soluble solid content of fermented red ginseng extracts. Spherical granules of fermented red ginseng extracts showed less angle of repose than powder of fermented red ginseng extracts. This means that spherical granules of fermented red ginseng extracts had good fluency with increased convenience. The more indigestible dextrin showed higher yields. Although 50% IDD showed less yield than 60% IDD, 50% IDD was the best mixing ratio for making spherical granules of fermented red ginseng extracts, as fermented red ginseng extracts is known as a healthy food. The optimized operation conditions of the fluidized bed coater for making 50% IDD were feeding rate 0.54 mL/min, atomization air pressure 2.15 bar, and product temperature $83.03^{\circ}C$.
