Magnetic Interference on the Infrastructure for a Super-speed Tube Train

  • The super-speed tube train was introduced to increase the speed of ground transportation. It levitates magnetically and runs in a partial vacuum tube, which significantly reduces air resistance. However, strong magnetic force sufficient to propel the massive train can affect the infrastructure. The induced eddy current produces joule heat, and raises the inside temperature of the girder, which might lead to electrochemical corrosion on the girder, thereby weakening its durability. In this paper, the authors analyzed the magnetic flux and induced eddy current in the reinforced concrete girder by using three-dimensional FEM, particularly by varying the number of reinforcing steels of the upper flange of the girder to the condition of almost the same flexural strength and reinforcing steel amount.

  • Internet provides the useful method to monitor the current states of the machine tool no matter where a personnel is monitoring them. In this paper, a monitoring method of the torque of the machine tool's spindle induction motor using internet is suggested. The torque of vector controlled induction motor is estimated without speed measuring sensor. Only stator currents are measured to estimate the magnetizing current which is used to calculate flux linkage, rotor velocity and motor torque. Graphical programming is used to implement the suggested algorithm, to monitor the torque of an induction motor in real time and to make the estimated torque monitored on client computers. To solve the fluctuation problem of estimated torque caused from instantly varying rotating speed of an induction motor, the rotating speed is reconstructed based on the measured current signals. Mechanical part of the machine tool is also reconstructed using the data obtained from preliminary experiments. Torque of the spindle induction motor is well monitored on the client computers with 3% error range under various cutting conditions.

Sensorless Control of a PMSM at Low Speeds using High Frequency Voltage Injection

  • This paper describes the two control techniques to perform the sensorless vector control of a PMSM by injecting the high frequency voltage to the stator terminal. The first technique is the estimation algorithm of the initial rotor position. A PMSM possesses the saliency which produces the ellipse of the stator current when the high frequency voltage is injected into the motor terminal. The major axis angle of the current ellipse gives the rotor position information at a standstill. The second control technique is a sensorless control algorithm that injects the high frequency voltage to the stator terminal in order to estimate the rotor position and speed. The rotor position and speed for sensorless vector control is calculated by appropriate signal processing to extract the position information from the stator current at low speeds or standstill. The proposed sensorless algorithm using the double-band hysteresis controller exhibits excellent reference tracking and increased robustness. Experimental results are presented to verify the feasibility of the proposed control schemes. Speed, position estimation and vector control were carried out on the floating point processor TMS320VC33.

  • The TBO of main unit of propulsion control devices on high-speed railway vehicles proposed by the makers is appropriated 10 years cycle, but the maintenance of internal device are proceeding before coming to the particular period of time. In the Future, increasing of the failure probability occurred by increasing train service and obtaining spare parts are predicted that it would be difficult. the propulsion control devices develop is needed in other to the ease maintenance, cost savings and ensuring related domestic technologies when considering operating on long term of high-speed railway vehicles. In this paper, we proposed development a way that current-controlled type propulsion control devices using the newest power semiconductors which is easy to supply and demand through identifying performance and characteristics of existing current-controlled type propulsion control devices of high-speed railway vehicles.

  • According to previously published paper the phase advance angle is adopted to the BLDC motor drive with high speed. The report proposed describes the optimum algorism that phase current is in phase with the initial flat region of back EMF. This report studies the need of more leading phase advance angle compared with in phase concept between phase current and back EMF. In case of high reactance this report proposes the more phase advance angle than in phase. The test results more rms value of phase current and output power due to more phase advance angle than in phase. It will be helped the high power operation of BLDC motor at high speed.

Characteristics of Current Collection Signals during Test Run of High-speed Train (주행 중 발생하는 고속전철 집전계 신호의 특성)

  • The dynamic characteristics of the current collection process of the high-speed railway are investigated through signals acquired during a test run. The signals are obtained from accelerometers, load cells, and strain gauges attached to various positions of the pantograph, and they are processed in time-and frequency-domains to obtain the dynamic characteristics. The main natural frequency of the pantograph is found to be 8.5Hz. There also are components at low frequencies varying linearly with the train speed. The contact frequency components above 20Hz is attenuated as they pass through the secondary suspension. The main frequency component of the load cell signal is found to be related with the rolling motion of the panhead generated by the stagger in the catenary.

  • A study on Technical Specifications of the current collection system in G7 Korean High Speed Train Project is performed in this paper. First, an appropriate level of contact wire tension for 350km/h commercial operation is proposed based on the foreign high speed train operation experiences and a relevant technical criterion, Second, two optimized design specifications of the pantograph for G7 Korean High Speed Train are proposed based on current collection quality. In order to perform design optimization, a formulation on the follow-up characteristics of a pantograph with 3 levels of masse-spring-damper is derived in this paper. Dynamic design parameters of the pantograph are adjusted to maximize follow-up capability at the dropper and span passing frequencies.

  • Recently, the interest of the high speed railway train is increased. Because it is energy-conserving and largely independent of fuel oil, an electric train is environmental friendly. In this paper we designed the eddy current brake for simulator of the Korean High Speed Railway Train(hereafter KHRT). Braking force and normal force according to current and speed are calculated.

  • This paper proposes high speed SRM drive system for blower with a new 4-level inverter and precise excitation position generator. For the high speed blower, a proper inverter and control method are proposed and the output characteristics are analyzed. In order to get a fast build-up and demagnetization of excitation a current, 4-level inverter system is proposed. The proposed 4-level inverter has additional charge capacitor, power switch and diode in the conventional asymmetric converter. The charged high voltage is supplied to the phase winding for fast current build-up, and demagnetization current is charged to additional capacitor of 4-level inverter. In addition, a precise excitation position generator can reduce turn-on and turn-off angle error according to sampling period of digital control system. The proposed high speed SRM drive system is verified by computer simulation and experimental result.

  • In general, the forklift driven by DC motor drive system is used in the industrial field. Classically, the DC motor is controlled by current control using proportion control method, by output torque following the load on the plane like a manual operation. But in the industrial field, the forklift is demanded the robust drive mode. Some cases of the mode, there aretrouble in torque control following slope capacity. The control is sensitive concerning about slope angle and output speed, various control method is studied for stability of speed control. In this paper, I apply current control for the self-tuning using the fuzzy controller to obtain robust, stable speed control and use stable, high efficiency control using DSP as main controller for high speed processor, embody dynamic characteristic of control compared the PI controller to the fuzzy controller.
