Spherical harmonics power spectrum of the geopotential field of Gaussian-bell type on the sphere was investigated using integral formula that is associated with Legendre polynomials. The geopotential field of Gaussian-bell type is defined as a function of sine of angular distance from the bell's center in order to guarantee the continuity on the global domain. Since the integral-formula associated with the Legendre polynomials was represented with infinite series of polynomial, an estimation method was developed to make the procedure computationally efficient while preserving the accuracy. The spherical harmonics power spectrum was shown to vary significantly depending on the scale parameter of the Gaussian bell. Due to the accurate procedure of the new method, the power (degree variance) spanning over orders that were far higher than machine roundoff was well explored. When the scale parameter (or width) of the Gaussian bell is large, the spectrum drops sharply with the total wavenumber. On the other hand, in case of small scale parameter the spectrum tends to be flat, showing very slow decaying with the total wavenumber. The accuracy of the new method was compared with theoretical values for various scale parameters. The new method was found advantageous over discrete numerical methods, such as Gaussian quadrature and Fourier method, in that it can produce the power spectrum with accuracy and computational efficiency for all range of total wavenumber. The results of present study help to determine the allowable maximum scale parameter of the geopotential field when a Gaussian-bell type is adopted as a localized function.
This study is carried out the investigation of nonlinear characteristics of the field wave observation data acquired in the western sea area in Jeju island during one year. It is aimed to offer the fundamental data for Freak wave forecasting in real sea. For this, the nonlinear parameters of ocean waves, which are Skewness, Atiltness, Kurtosis and Spectrum band width parameter et al., are introduced, and the parameters are compared and discussed with some characteristics wave components, ie, significant wave height, maximum wave height, and so on. As a results, we know that the parameters describe nonlinear characteristics of observed wave spectrum broadly, are feebly related with occurrence of abnormal maximum wave height, namely freak event, however the Kurtosis, $K_t$ which is a degree of peakness of mode of surface elevation distribution, has better relationship than others.

The switching-mode power converter has been widely used because of its features of high efficiency and small weight and size. These features are brought by the ON-OFF operation of semiconductor switching devices. However, this switching operation causes the surge and EMI(Electromagnetic Interference) which deteriorate the reliability of the converter themselves and entire electronic systems. This problem on the surge and noise is one of the most serious difficulties in AC-to-DC converter. In the switching-mode power converter, the output voltage is generally controlled by varying the duty ratio of main switch. When a converter operates in steady state, duty ratio of the converter is kept constant. So the power of switching noise is concentrated in specific frequencies. Generally, to reduce the EMI and improve the immunity of converter system, the switching frequency of converter needs to be properly modulated during a rectified line period instead of being kept constant. Random Pulse Width Modulation (RPWM) is performed by adding a random perturbation to switching instant while output-voltage regulation of converter is performed. RPWM method for reducing conducted EMI in single switch three phase discontinuous conduction mode boost converter is presented. The more white noise is injected, the more conducted EMI is reduced. But output-voltage is not sufficiently regulated. This is the reason why carrier frequency selection topology is proposed. In the case of carrier frequency selection, output-voltage of steady state and transient state is fully regulated. A RPWM control method was proposed in order to smooth the switching noise spectrum and reduce it's level. Experimental results are verified by converter operating at 300V/1kW with 5%~30% white noise input. Spectrum analysis is performed on the Phase current and the CM noise voltage. The former is measured with Current Probe and the latter is achieved with LISN, which are connected to the spectrum analyzer respectively.

A high speed NMR quality evaluation sensor was designed , constructed and tested . The device consists of an NMR spectrometer coupled to a conveyor system. The conveyor was run at speeds ranging from 0 to 250 mm/s. Spectral of avocado fruits and one-dimensional magnetic resonance images of pickled olives were acquired while the samples were moving on a conveyor belt mounted through a 20Tesla NMR magnet with a 20 mm diameter surface coil and a 150 mm diameter imaging coil respectively. Fro a magnetic resonance spectrum analysis, motion through variations in the magnetic field tends to narrow spectral line width just like using sample rotation in high resolution NMR to narrow spectral line width. Spectrum analysis was used to detect the dry weight of avocado fruits using the ratio oil and water resonance peaks. Good correlations maximum r=0.970@ 50 mm/s and minimum r=0.894@250mm/s ) between oil and water resonance peak ratio and dry weight of avocados were observed at speeds ra ging from0 to 250mm/s. For the application of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) method, the projections were used to distinguish between pitted and non-pitted olives . Effect of fruit position in the coil was tested and coil degree effects were noticed when projects were generated under dynamic conditions. Various belt speeds (up to 250mm/s) were tested and detection results were compared to static measurements. Higher classification errors were occurred at dynamic conditions compared to errors while olives were at rest.
In the paper we validate theoretical models of the pulse against experimental data from the Jozef Stefan Institute TRIGA Mark II research reactor. Data from all pulse experiments since 1991 have been collected, analysed and are publicly available. This paper summarizes the validation study, which is focused on the comparison between experimental values, theoretical predictions (Fuchs-Hansen and Nordheim-Fuchs models) and calculation using computational program Improved Pulse Model. The results show that the theoretical models predicts higher maximum power but lower total released energy, full width at half maximum and the time when the maximum power is reached is shorter, compared to Improved Pulse Model. We evaluate the uncertainties in pulse physical parameters (maximum power, total released energy and full width at half maximum) due to uncertainties in reactor physical parameters (inserted reactivity, delayed neutron fraction, prompt neutron lifetime and effective temperature reactivity coefficient of fuel). It is found that taking into account overestimated correlation of reactor physical parameters does not significantly affect the estimated uncertainties of pulse physical parameters. The relative uncertainties of pulse physical parameters decrease with increasing inserted reactivity. If all reactor physical parameters feature an uncorrelated uncertainty of 10 % the estimated total uncertainty in peak pulse power at 3 $ inserted reactivity is 59 %, where significant contributions come from uncertainties in prompt neutron lifetime and effective temperature reactivity coefficient of fuel. In addition we analyse contribution of two physical mechanisms (Doppler broadening of resonances and neutron spectrum shift) that contribute to the temperature reactivity coefficient of fuel. The Doppler effect contributes around 30 %-15 % while the rest is due to the thermal spectrum hardening for a temperature range between 300 K and 800 K.

For the frequency-domain spectral fatigue analysis, the probability density function of stress range needs to be estimated based on the stress spectrum only, which is a frequency domain representation of the response. The probability distribution of the stress range of the narrow-band spectrum is known to follow the Rayleigh distribution, however the PDF of wide-band spectrum is difficult to define with clarity due to the complicated fluctuation pattern of spectrum. In this paper, efforts have been made to figure out the links between the probability density function of stress range to the structural response of wide-band Gaussian random process. An artificial neural network scheme, known as one of the most powerful system identification methods, was used to identify the multivariate functional relationship between the idealized wide-band spectrums and resulting probability density functions. To achieve this, the spectrums were idealized as a superposition of two triangles with arbitrary location, height and width, targeting to comprise wide-band spectrum, and the probability density functions were represented by the linear combination of equally spaced Gaussian basis functions. To train the network under supervision, varieties of different wide-band spectrums were assumed and the converged probability density function of the stress range was derived using the rainflow counting method and all these data sets were fed into the three layer perceptron model. This nonlinear least square problem was solved using Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm with regularization term included. It was proven that the network trained using the given data set could reproduce the probability density function of arbitrary wide-band spectrum of two triangles with great success.

The purpose of this research is to establish basic database on Cornus kousa by way of investigation, analysis and comparison of characteristics of leaf and flower, then fostering good cultivar on each morphological characteristics - leaf length, leaf width, petiole length, left lateral vein, right lateral vein. Leaf length and leaf width in Mt. Jiri shows big tendency which is 83.5 mm, 52.4 mm each in comparison with the whole mean of 72.5 mm, 41.2 mm, whereas populations of Suwon and Mt. Halla has leaf length of 66.0 mm, 65.7 mm - 9.8%, 10.4% lower value in comparison with seven mean population; leaf width is 38.4 mm, 35.3 mm - 7.3%, 16.7% lower than whole mean and shows lowest tendency among seven selected populations. Long width of flower and short width of flower in Boeun shows big tendency which is 99.9mm, 96.5 mm each in comparison with the whole mean of 76.0 mm, 73.6 mm, whereas populations of Mt. Halla has 50.1 mm, 48.2 mm which shows lowest tendency. On petal length, petal width and length of flower petiole, Boeun populations have bigger and Mt. Halla shows little tendency. The measurement result of flower colors on each population by using Spectrum Color Mater shows followings: populations of Mt. Duckyoo and Mt. Halla shows lower lightness than any other populations, but wholly shows higher lightness which is refers brightness in seven selected populations. Thus it shows peculiarities of white flower color.
Large area infrared surveys are often accompanied with follow-up optical spectroscopic surveys that has a significant legacy value even for other areas of research. Using these spectral database, we have performed a search for MgII absorption lines in the optical spectrum of background quasar. Over the ~4deg2 of AKARI North Ecliptic Pole survey field and Spitzer First Look Survey field, 18 and 16 MgII absorber systems are identified respectively. The redshift range for the background quasars was 1.0<$z_{qso}$<3.4, while the redshift range for the absorber was 0.6<$z_{abs}$<1.6. Galaxies responsible for MgII absorptions are identified in the deep optical images (CFHT r-band), yet the identification still remains ambiguous for 60% of the systems due to the limited image depth and the source crowdedness. The impact parameter ranges 20-60kpc, and the rest-frame equivalent width of MgII absorption ranges $0.7-4{\AA}$. The most critical part in the identification of MgII absorber galaxies is the existence of deep optical images in addition to the high S/N quasar spectrum with R>3000.

This study proposes a novel random pulse-width modulation (PWM) technique with a constant switching frequency utilizing a random offset voltage. The proposed PWM technique spreads switching harmonics by varying the position of an active voltage vector without a switching frequency variation. The implementation of the proposed PWM technique is simple because it does not require additional hardware and complex algorithm. The proposed random PWM technique is compared with the conventional PWM technique on the factors of harmonic spectrum, total harmonic distortion, and harmonic spread factor to confirm the harmonic spread effect. The validity of the proposed method is verified by simulations and experiments on a three-phase inverter drive system.

In this work, we investigated on the white-colored ribbon fiber synthesized from GaN powder. We convinced the formation of monoclinic phase $\beta$-Ga$_2$O$_3$from the X-ray diffraction pattern on ribbon fiber. The 10 K PL spectrum consisted with the strong emission band caused by self-activated optical center at 3.464 eV with the full-width at half maximum of 48 meV and the impurity related emission bands. Through this work, the optical properties and the electrical conductivity of $\beta$-Ga$_2$O$_3$, it will be useful for the fabrication of optoelctronic devices operating in visible spectrum region.
