  • Wireless mesh networks are a special type of broadcast networks which cover the qualifications of both ad-hoc as well as infrastructure mode networks. These networks offer connectivity to the last mile through hop to hop communication and by comparatively reducing the cost of infrastructure in terms of wire and hardware. Channel assignment has always been the focused area for such networks specifically when using non-overlapping channels and sharing radio frequency spectrum while using multiple radios. It has always been a challenge for mesh network on impartial utilization of the resources (channels), with the increase in users. The rational utilization of multiple channels and multiple radios, not only increases the overall throughput, capacity and scalability, but also creates significant complexities for channel assignment methods. For a better understanding of research challenges, this paper discusses heuristic methods, measurements and channel utilization applications and also examines various researches that yield to overcome this problem. Finally, we highlight prospective directions of research.

  • This paper overviews clock design problems related to the circuit reliability in deep submicron design technology. The topics include the clock polarity assignment problem for reducing peak power/ground noise, clock mesh network design problem for tolerating clock delay variation, electromagnetic interference aware clock optimization problem, adjustable delay buffer allocation and assignment problem to support multiple voltage mode designs, and the state encoding problem for reducing peak current in sequential elements. The last topic belongs to finite state machine (FSM) design and is not directly related to the clock design, but it can be viewed that reducing noise at the sequential elements driven by clock signal is contained in the spectrum of reliable circuit design from the clock source down to sequential elements.

  • Heme assignment of the 1HNMR spectrum of cytochrome c3 of D. vulgaris Miyazaki F was established [Reference: 12, 13]. The major reduction of the heme turned out to take place in the other of heme 4, 1, 2 and 3 (in the sequential numbering). The Hemes with the smallest and greatest solvent accessibility were reduced at the highest and lowest potentials in average, respectively. A cooperation interheme interaction was attributed to a pait of the closest hemes, namely, hemes 1 and 2. This assignment can provide the physicochemical bases for the elucidation of electron transfer of this protein.

  • The fixed spectrum assignment policy in today's wireless networks leads to inefficient spectrum usage. Cognitive radio network is a new communication paradigm that enables the unlicensed users to opportunistically use the spatio-temporally unoccupied portions of the spectrum, and hence realizing a dynamic spectrum access (DSA) methodology. Interference temperature model proposed by Federal Communications Commission (FCC) permits the unlicensed users to utilize the licensed frequencies simultaneously with the primary users provided that they adhere to the interference temperature constraints. In this paper, we formulate two NP-hard optimal scheduling methods that meet the interference temperature constraints for cognitive radio networks. The first one maximizes the network throughput, whereas the second one minimizes the scheduling delay. Furthermore, we also propose suboptimal schedulers with linear complexity, referred to as maximum frequency selection (MFS) and probabilistic frequency selection (PFS). We simulate the throughput and delay performance of the optimal as well as the suboptimal schedulers for varying number of cognitive nodes, number of primary neighbors for each cognitive node, and interference temperature limits for the frequencies. We also evaluate the performance of our proposed schedulers under both additive white gaussian noise (AWGN) channels and Gilbert-Elliot fading channels.

  • Luminescence spectrum of Na3[Eu(ODA)3]·7H2O (ODA≡oxydiacetato) was measured at various temperatures. The characteristic band splitting within 5D0→7FJ (J = 1, 2, 3 and 4) were phenomenologically simulated by using crystal field theory. The set of crystal field parameters reproduces the emission lines in a satisfactory manner with a rms deviation of 21.4 cm-1. It leads the reliable assignment of the luminescence bands and the energy level scheme of 7FJ (J = 1, 2, 3 and 4) multiplets.

  • The technique of corona-excited supersonic expansion was applied to produce electronically excited but rovibrationally cooled m-tolunitrile. The well-resolved vibronic emission spectrum of the jet-cooled m-tolunitrile in the $S_1\;\rightarrow \;S_0$ transition was recorded in the uv region using a Fourier transform spectrometer equipped with a Quartz-uv beam splitter. From an analysis of the spectrum observed, it was confirmed that the electronic transition and vibrational mode frequencies in the ground electronic state were accurately determined.

  • We address an issue of channel sharing among users by using a random assignment-transmitter-based (RA-T) spread-spectrum transmission scheme which permits the contention mode only in the transmission of a header while avoiding collision during the data packet transmission. Once the header being successfully received, the data packet is ready for reception by switching to one of programmable matched-filters. But the receoption may be blocked due to limited number of matched-filters so that this effect is taken into account in our analysis. For realistic analysis, we integrate detection performance at the physical level with channel activity at the link level through a markov chain model. We also consider an acknowledgement scheme to notify whether the header is correctly detcted and the data packet can be processed continuously, which aims at reducing the interference caused unwanted data transmission. It is shown that receiver complexity can be greatly reduced by choosing a proper number of RA codes at the cost of only a little throughput degradation.

  • Interference mitigation is a significant issue in the cognitive heterogeneous networks, this paper studied how to reduce the interference to macrocell users (MU) and improve system throughput. Establish the interference model with imperfect spectrum sensing by analyzing the source of interference complexity. Based on the user topology, the optimize problem was built to maximize the downlink throughput under given interference constraint and the total power constraint. We decompose the resource allocation problem into subcarrier allocation and power allocation. In the subcarrier assignment step, the allocated number of subcarriers satisfies the requirement of the femtocell users (FU).Then, we designed the power allocation algorithm based on the Lagrange multiplier method and the improved water filling method. Simulation results and performance analyses show that the proposed algorithm causes less interference to MU than the algorithm without considering imperfect spectrum sensing, and the system achieves better throughput performance.
