In the early stage, the radio communication industry was widely accepted as a monopoly industry, so it has been controled and managed by government. But the advanced technology in Information and Technology industry has led constant increase of demand and dramatic change of communication market. Furthermore it is expected that frequency resource is to be short by market change due to wire-wireless integration. That is why the effort to utilize and manage limited frequency resource efficiently is being executed around the world. Not only newly developing and allocating the spectrum but also reallocating the existing spectrum important are, since transforming inefficiently used existing spectrum to new service can increase producer's surplus and social welfare. The economic approach to valuate the spectrum and spectrum usage right is necessary different from the traditional cost based approach, and through this approach I expect active transaction of spectrum. In this paper the real option methodology is used for valuation of spectrum, considering spectrum user's option right based on future revenue. In detail, the matter of withdrawing and reallocating the existing analog radio broadcasting spectrum is evaluated in this paper, The digitalization of a broadcasting service is widely spreaded around the world in terms of technology and service utility, and analog TV broadcasting has already been decided to be transformed to digital TV broadcasting. It was planned to convert analog radio broadcasting to DAB service before adopting DMB service, but nowadays this issue is not on the table anymore. However if the increasing demand of digital voice and broadcasting service is considered, this kind of research to valuate a spectrum is needed urgently. The result of this research shows that when the redeployment of spectrum is done, social welfare will increases. The point of the reallocation time and value are suggested by the monte carlo simulation through ROVM. In this paper, I use real option to valuate the spectrum and provide the point of the reallocation time and reasonable guideline, and moreover, the suitable information of this paper is expected to reduce risk and loss in policy practice.

In this paper, we propose our design of adaptive resource allocation in the cognitive radio network assisted by satellite to improve the performance of Cognitive Radio user. Most of today’s telecommunication network operates in a fixed, licensed frequency band using a specific spectrum access network. However, the spectrum is not always used all the time, all the band. It causes the inefficiency in the spectrum usage. Thus, cognitive radio network is proposed to solve these spectrum inefficiency problems. The cognitive radio users (secondary users) are coexistent with primary users (PUs) who are licensed. That cognitive radio network is considered as lower priority comparing with primary user. So, the operation of the cognitive radio network is limited to interference constraints. Especially, when the number of secondary users increases, CCI among SUs will increase as well as interference to PU. That motivates our objective to improve the performance even if cognitive radio users increase. To solve this problem, we suggest an adaptive resource allocation scheme to improve the performance of cognitive radio network assisted by satellite. Through this algorithm, we can improve the cognitive radio network performance. And the simulation results confirm the effectiveness of our proposed algorithm.

Spectrum scarcity seems to be the most challenging issue to be solved in new wireless telecommunication services. It is shown that spectrum unavailability is mainly due to spectrum inefficient utilization and inappropriate physical layer execution rather than spectrum shortage. Daily increasing demand for new wireless services with higher data rate and QoS level makes the upgrade of the physical layer modulation techniques inevitable. Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) which utilizes multicarrier modulation to provide higher data rates with the capability of flexible resource allocation, although has widely been used in current wireless systems and standards, seems not to be the best candidate for cognitive radio systems. Filter Bank based Multi-Carrier (FBMC) is an evolutionary scheme with some advantages over the widely-used OFDM multicarrier technique. In this paper, we focus on the total throughput improvement of a cognitive radio network using FBMC modulation. Along with this modulation scheme, we propose a novel uplink radio resource allocation algorithm in which fairness issue is also considered. Moreover, the average throughput of the proposed FBMC based cognitive radio is compared to a conventional OFDM system in order to illustrate the efficiency of using FBMC in future cognitive radio systems. Simulation results show that in comparison with the state of the art two algorithms (namely, Shaat and Wang) our proposed algorithm achieves higher throughputs and a better fairness for cognitive radio applications.

In the context of effective usage of a scarce spectrum resource, emerging wireless communication standards will demand spectrum sharing with existing systems as well as multiple access with higher spectral efficiency. We mathematically analyze the sum throughput of a spectrum sharing space-division multiple access (SDMA) system, which forms a transmit null in the direction of other coexisting systems while satisfying orthogonal beamforming constraints. For a large number of users N, the SDMA throughput scales as log N at high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) ((J-1) loglog N at normal SNR), where J is the number of transmit antennas. This indicates that multiplexing gain of the spectrum sharing SDMA is $\frac{J-1}{J}$ times less than that of the non-spectrum sharing SDMA only using orthogonal beamforming, whereas no loss in multiuser diversity gain. Although the spectrum sharing SDMA always has lower throughput compared to the non-spectrum sharing SDMA in the non-coexistence scenario, it offers an intriguing opportunity to reuse spectrum already allocated to other coexisting systems.

Demands for high-speed wireless data services grow rapidly. It is a big challenge to increasing the network capacity operating on licensed spectrum resources. Unlicensed spectrum cellular networks have been proposed as a solution in response to severe spectrum shortage. Licensed Assisted Access (LAA) was standardized by 3GPP, aiming to deliver data services through unlicensed 5 GHz spectrum. Furthermore, the 3GPP proposed 5G New Radio-Unlicensed (NR-U) study item. On the other hand, artificial intelligence (AI) has attracted enormous attention to implement 5G and beyond systems, which is known as Intelligent Radio (IR). To tackle the challenges of unlicensed spectrum networks in 4G/5G/B5G systems, a lot of works have been done, focusing on using Machine Learning (ML) to support resource allocation in LTE-LAA/NR-U and Wi-Fi coexistence environments. Generally speaking, ML techniques are used in IR based on statistical models established for solving specific optimization problems. In this paper, we aim to conduct a comprehensive survey on the recent research efforts related to unlicensed cellular networks and IR technologies, which work jointly to implement 5G and beyond wireless networks. Furthermore, we introduce a positioning assisted LTE-LAA system based on the difference in received signal strength (DRSS) to allocate resources among UEs. We will also discuss some open issues and challenges for future research on the IR applications in unlicensed cellular networks.

A joint resource-optimization scheme is investigated for nonorthogonal multiple access (NOMA)-enhanced scalable video coding (SVC) multicast in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-assisted radio-access networks (RANs). This scheme allows a ground base station and UAVs to simultaneously multicast successive video layers in SVC with successive interference cancellation in NOMA. A video quality-maximization problem is formulated as a mixed-integer nonlinear programming problem to determine the UAV deployment and association, RAN spectrum allocation for multicast groups, and UAV transmit power. The optimization problem is decoupled into the UAV deployment-association, spectrum-partition, and UAV transmit-power-control subproblems. A heuristic strategy is designed to determine the UAV deployment and association patterns. An upgraded knapsack algorithm is developed to solve spectrum partition, followed by fast UAV power fine-tuning to further boost the performance. The simulation results confirm that the proposed scheme improves the average peak signal-to-noise ratio, aggregate videoreception rate, and spectrum utilization over various baselines.

Interference mitigation is a significant issue in the cognitive heterogeneous networks, this paper studied how to reduce the interference to macrocell users (MU) and improve system throughput. Establish the interference model with imperfect spectrum sensing by analyzing the source of interference complexity. Based on the user topology, the optimize problem was built to maximize the downlink throughput under given interference constraint and the total power constraint. We decompose the resource allocation problem into subcarrier allocation and power allocation. In the subcarrier assignment step, the allocated number of subcarriers satisfies the requirement of the femtocell users (FU).Then, we designed the power allocation algorithm based on the Lagrange multiplier method and the improved water filling method. Simulation results and performance analyses show that the proposed algorithm causes less interference to MU than the algorithm without considering imperfect spectrum sensing, and the system achieves better throughput performance.

In this paper, we consider cooperative D2D communications in cellular networks. More precisely, a cellular user leases part of its spectrum to facilitate the D2D communication with a goal of improving the energy efficiency of a D2D pair. However the D2D pair is untrusted to the cellular user, such resource sharing may result in the information of this cellular user unsecured. In order to motivate the cellular user's generosity, this D2D pair needs to help the cellular user maintain a target secrecy rate. To address this issue, we formulate a joint spectrum and power allocation problem to maximize the energy efficiency of the D2D communication while guaranteeing the physical layer security of the cellular user. Then, a theorem is proved to indicate the best resource allocation strategy, and accordingly, an algorithm is proposed to find the best solution to this resource allocation problem. Numerical results are finally presented to verify the validity and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

C-RAN (Cloud Radio Access Network) structure is the most popular approach for 5G stander, it employs CoMP (Coordinated Multiple Points Transmission/Reception) to enhance frequency utilization and increase throughput for cell-edge users. C-RAN mainly includes two parts: baseband units (BBU) and remote radio heads (RRH). In this paper we propose a new resource block allocation (spectrum allocation) scheme by the permutation and combination of BBUs, and we also use the CoMP (Coordinated Multiple Points Transmission/Reception) technique according to the different environment to improve the spectrum utilization and reduce resource waste in different environment. The simulation results expound that the scheme significantly enhances throughput and improves the spectrum utilization.
A standard paradigm for the allocation of wireless resources in communication demands symmetry, whereby all users are assumed to be on equal footing and hence get equal shares of communication capabilities. However, there are situations in which "prime users" should be given higher priority, as for example in the transmission of emergency messages. In this paper, we examine a prioritization policy that can be implemented at the physical layer. In particular, we evaluate the performance of a prioritized transmission scheme based on spectrum pooling and on the assignment of higher signal-to-noise ratio channels to higher-priority users. This performance is compared to that of unprioritized (or "symmetric") schemes, and the impact of prioritization on the unprioritized users is discussed.
