This experiment was carried out in order to evaluate the immunomodulatory activity of levamisole (LMS) in 5. fgrjn challenged eels with different treatment regimens: 7-day LMS treatment before the challenge, 7-day LMS treatment started simultaneously with the challenge, 14-day treatment before and after the challenge. The antibacterial effect was activated in all treated groups, with the best being obtained in the simultaneously treated group. LMS stimulated the defense mechanisms of the eel as demonstrated by increase in the level of total protein, albumin, trypsin inhibitor capacity, lysozyme activity, antibody titers antibacterial activity and survival rate. These results suggest that antibacterial effects of LMS was achieved by not only non-specific immune response but also specific one in eel.

In this study, nitrate reduction of real groundwater sample by 2.2%Cu-1.6%Pd-hematite catalyst was evaluated at different nitrate concentrations, catalyst concentrations, and recycling. Results show that the nitrate reduction is improved by increasing the catalyst concentration. Specific nitrate removal by 2.2%Cu-1.6%Pd-hematite increased linearly with the increase of nitrate concentration showing that the catalyst possesses significantly higher reduction capacity. More than 95% nitrate reduction was observed over five recycles by 2.2%Cu-1.6%Pd-hematite with ~56% nitrogen selectivity in all recycling batches. The results from this study indicate that stable reduction of nitrate in groundwater can be achieved by 2.2%Cu-1.6%Pd-hematite over the wide range of initial nitrate inputs.

Pretrained language models (PLMs) are extensively utilized to enhance the performance of log anomaly detection systems. Their effectiveness lies in their capacity to extract valuable semantic information from logs, thereby strengthening the detection performance. Nonetheless, challenges arise due to discrepancies in the distribution of log messages, hindering the development of robust and generalizable detection systems. This study investigates the structural and distributional variation across various log message datasets, underscoring the crucial role of domain-specific PLMs in overcoming the said challenge and devising robust and generalizable solutions.

Although still poorly understood, accumulating evidence clearly supports that plants also have a good immune system which have been developed and acquired during the evolution. The lack of specific mobile immune cells like a B or T cell in plants additionally suggests that most plant cells have capacity for defending themselves against numerous pathogens. Rapidly growing advances in understanding plant defense responses implicate that plant and animal immune responses are evolutionarily convergent although their origins are thought to be different. On the basis of recent findings, here current understanding of plant defense responses will be discussed.

This paper presents a improved algorithm for the generating capacity reliability evaluation using the frequency and duration approach. One of the specific feature of this algorithm is that propose the cumulative state load model via analytic expression of load duration curve and cumulative load frequency characteristic in conside ration of daily peak load. The paper illustrates the utilization of the proposed algorithm in actual system studies using the generating system of KEPCO. The results presented will provide a valuable reference for maintaining and planing the generating system.

This paper presents the thermal behaviours of a solid type disk brake for a high-speed train. The thermal behaviours of a brake disk with 50mm thickness shows good performance compared with 45mm thickness of a disk because of a high specific heat capacity. The FEM results show that the thickness of the disk with a same weight of the brake disk should be increased for a good flexibility of the contact thermal problems. Therefore, the ratio between the pad and disk in diameter may be reduced and the thickness of a disk increased.

This paper adopts an embeddedness perspective and discusses rationales for government intervention in relation to economic development. Looking at East Asian experiences with industrial and technology policy the paper examines the general requirements, specific areas of focus and appropriate techniques for industrial and technology policy. Eight generic policy requirements are identified, viz. government capacity; monitoring and adjustment; policy sequencing; incremental upgrading; progressive market reliance; performance-orientation; selectivity; and flexibility.

The adsorption efficiency of some adsorbents for the organic solvents and gas phase of smoke was investigated. 1. Specific surface area of activated carbon increased to 1900 mfg with increased activation time. 2. Adsorption efficiency of benzene and acetone increased with increasing total surface area. Adsorption capacity for gas phase such as hydrogen cyanide, aldehyde was proportional to the micro pore surface area under 20A. 3. The removal efficiency of particulate matter of smoke was higher with the adsorbents of relatively higher pore size compared to that of micro pore.

We intend to analyze how a specific industry of multi layered platforms successfully organize and operate numerous stake holders. Using the online game industry as a reference, we track and define the ecosystem and provide evidence for further study. A proposal is made to investigate how the change in consumers' attitude and the technological capacity is influencing the whole ecosystem. Also suggested is to extend the findings and apply it on various tech-based ecosystems for a more thorough understanding of the industry.

성능 위주 피난 설계에 있어서 요구피난시간(RSET)을 위한 Simulex 등 피난 시뮬레이션 툴이 사용하고 있는 근본적인 데이터베이스, 즉, 시설 및 군중 조건에 따른 이동 변수, 최대 비유동률(Maximum Specific Flows) 및 경계폭(Boundary Layer Width)을 살펴보고, 트래픽 방정식(Traffic Equation)을 통한 계산 사례 즉, 피난자의 이동 속도 계산 사례, 최소 피난 시간 계산 사례 및 총 유동 용량(Flow Capacity) 수식과 계산 사례를 살펴본다.
