  • In order to prove the similarity relationships between the basic species of oak through Electronic Data Processing System(EDPS) and numerical analysis, The analized species and datas were selected from the list of morphological observation in the thesis of T.B. Lee, 1961, "Phytogenetic study of the subgenus Lepidobalanus of the genus Quercus in Korea", and were coded by categories shown in Table 1. The value in the list were transformed into hundred percentage to standardize the observational value by each code into dimensionless. The similarity index between species were computed through formula of non-metric coefficient, $N_{jk}=\sum\limits_{i=1}^{n}\(\frac{{\mid}x_{ij}-x_{ik}{\mid}}{x_{ij}+x_{ik}}\)$, using the UNiVAC-1106, at National Computer Center. Quercus aliena, by analysis result, is most similar to Q. mongolica with the similarity index, 71.6 and Q. dentata is most far apart from Q. serrata in the relationship with index, 121.4. The above thesis of Professor, T. Lee, are closely similar with the result of this research study. But, their similar relationship are proved in quantity through numerical method in our research study. In addition, The relationships among Q. mongolica, Q. aliena and Q. serrata are found to be very similar, but Q. dentata to be enough far in similarity to other species by dendrogram shown at Fig. 1. The numerical classification through EDPS is found to be suitable method also applicable to the plant taxonomy.

  • To investigate taxonomical relationships of Fusarium species, $esterase-{\alpha},\;-{\beta}$, acid phosphatase, malate dehydrogenase, peroxidase and polygalacturonase were extracted and the isozyme patterns were compared by using polyacrylamide gel electrophoretic analysis. Only polygalacturonase was monozyme and the other enzymes showed little differences in banding patterns. Genetic similarities based on the isozyme banding patterns were as follows: the interspecific similarity between F. subglutinans and F. moniliforme in Liseola showed the closest relationship of 74.3% of all species studies. And the similarity between section Elegans and section Liseola was 45.4%. F. napiforme and F. nygamai showed the similarity of 64.7%, similar to the correlation between species in the same section. The similarity of these two species to Liseola and Elegans showed 55.2% and 45.4%, being revealed that they would be closer to Liseola than Elegans. However, these results were similar to those of any other sections. Therefore it suggested that these 2 species should be in a different section from any other sections. And F. graminearum showed the similarity of 28.2% to the other 6 species.

  • All of the animals and the plants in ecosystem are intimately connected to one another and the changes of forests and surroundings affect directly wild animals. This study was conducted at Hangyeong-myeon Cheongsu-ri located in the western part of Jeju Island belonging to Hangyeong Andeok Gotjawal Zone and Jocheon-eup Seonheul-ri located in the eastern part of Jeju Island belonging to Jocheon Hamdeok Gotjawal Zone. The survey on advent of birds was carried out twice a month from January 2014 to December 2015. We divided habitat environments into three survey sites such as a forest, a shrub forest and a farmland. A total of 65 species and 4,802 individuals were observed during the survey period. In a forest, 36 species and 1,287 individuals were observed while A shrub forest had 40 species and 1,554 individuals. And in a farmland, 41 species and 1,961 individuals were observed. The only 10 species were observed in forest and the only 7 species in shrub forest and the only 10 species in farmland. The species diversity and the evenness of a farmland were the highest, and the species richness was the highest in a shrub forest, and the dominance of a forest was the highest among the three areas. The similarity index between a shurb forest and a farmland was high while that between a forest and a farmland was low. The similarity index related with breeding appeared that a forest and a farmland was different from each other.

  • A genetic analysis using starch gel electrophoresis was performed to clarify the degrees of genetic differentiation and the phylogenetic relationships among four species of the genus Corbicula (Bivalvia, Corbiculidae). The average genetic similarity coefficients among the populations of each species on C. fluminea, C. leana and C. colorata were very closed (Rogers' S$\geq$0.970), whereas the other C. japonica was separated into two genetic groups (S=0.873) with distinct allelic difference at the Gpl locus. Thuefore additional taxonomic studies are needed on this species. On the other hand, these four species were well distinguished from each other genetically with distinct allelic differences at 4 to 9 loci. The genetic similarity coefficients (S) between C. leana and C. colorata, C. fluminea and C. leana, and C. fluminea and C. colorata were 0.737, 0.689, and 0.594, respectively. In particular, the average genetic similarity coefficients between these three species (inhabiting in freshwater) and the other C. japonica (inhabiting in brackishwater) were notably lower (S=0.370).
