2.3 GHz 대역의 ISM 기기와 WiBro 서비스의 양립성 분석 (Compatibility between ISM Equipment and WiBro Service at 2.3 GHz band)

  • 본 논문은 2.3 GHz 대역을 사용하는 ISM(Industrial Scientific Medical) 기기가 동대역을 사용하는 WiBro 서비스에 미치는 간섭 영향을 분석하여 ISM 기기로부터 WiBro 서비스를 보호하기 위한 보호 거리를 산출하였다. 간섭 시나리오로 ISM 기기의 간섭 파워는 CISPR(International Special Committee on Radio Interference) 11의 전계강도 기준치를 적용하였고 WiBro 수신기가 ISM 기기로 근접하는 경우를 구성하여 분석하였다. 그 결과 최악의 상황을 고려한 MCL(Minimum Coupling Loss) 분석시 14 m의 보호 거리와 통계적 간섭 확률을 바탕으로 한 MC(Monte Carlo) 분석시 간섭원의 수가 1개 일 때 간섭 확률 5 %를 만족하기 위해 10 m의 보호 거리가 각각 산출되었다.

  • In the energy-guzzling industries such as steel making and cement, power plants utilizing waste heat have been attracting attention to increase energy efficiency. However, the existing economic analysis system doesn't consider the special working fluids and the cost models of the main equipment used in the waste heat recovery power plant. So it is difficult to estimate the plant economics accurately. Therefore, It is required to develop a economic analysis module that can more accurately evaluate for the power plant. In this study, the systems engineering approach was used to design and develop the module that systematically reflects the characteristics of the power plant and various requirements. Specifically, first, the special working fluids and main equipment applied to the power plant were investigated. Next, the cost models for each equipment were developed. Finally, the economic analysis module based on this was developed.

  • Continuous on-line temperature monitoring provides the means to evaluate current condition of equipment and detect abnormality. It allows corrective measures to be taken to prevent upcoming failure. Continuous temperature monitoring and event recording provides information on the energized equipment's response to normal and emergency conditions. On-line temperature monitoring helps to coordinate equipment specifications and ratings, determine the real limits of the monitored equipment and optimize facility operations. Using wireless technique eliminates any need for special cables and wires with lower installation costs if compared to other types of online condition monitoring equipment. In addition, wireless temperature monitoring works well under difficult conditions in strategically important locations. Wireless technology for on-line condition monitoring of energized equipment is applicable both as standalone system and with an interface with power quality monitoring system.

  • This is the abstract of lecture on Electro-optic characteristics of D-KDP crystal and its application for high speed shutter made by Dr. Naomi Furuya; The professor of Yamanashi University in Kofu Japan on March 31, 1973 for KEEI in the auditorium of Korea Electric Company. His lecture is listened by KEEI members that KDP Z-cut crystal can be utilized as a high speed shutter of 10$^{-6}$ second, combining special camera and 2-3KV electrical impulse generator and also recording slide photographs on tungoten lamp crystal voltage and melting fuse phenomena due to over-current taken by this special equipment had been demonstrated.

  • An equipment is subject to shocks which occur randomly according to a Poisson process. The equipment fails when the total cumulative damage reaches a certain prescribed level. An optimal preventive replacement policy is presented when the level of cumulative damage cannot be checked. Renewal theory is used to obtain the results and a case example is presented.

  • The Avengers film produced by Marvel Comics shows visual effects that were impossible to produce in the past. Companies that produce film special effects were initially equipped with large personnel and equipment, but technology is gradually evolving to be feasible for smaller companies that do not have high-priced equipment and a large workforce. The development of hardware and software is becoming increasingly available to the general public as well as to experts. Equipment and software which were difficult for individuals to purchase before quickly popularized high-performance computers as the game industry developed. The development of the cloud has been the driving force behind software costs. As augmented reality (AR) performance of mobile devices improves, advanced technologies such as motion tracking and face recognition technology are no longer implemented by expensive equipment. Under these circumstances, after implementing mobile-based facial capture technology in animation projects, we have identified the pros and the cons and suggest better solutions to improve the problem.

  • A new computationally efficient algorithm-based propagator method for two-dimensional (2-D) direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation is proposed, which uses two parallel uniform linear arrays. The algorithm takes advantage of the special structure of the array which enables 2-D DOA estimation without pair matching. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm achieves very accurate estimation at a computational cost 4 dB lower than that of standard methods.

  • 특수목적 기계 등에 사용되는 시스템은 재난환경에서 환경인지 및 인명탐지, 가시성 확보를 위한 다양한 센서 Network, 목적에 맞는 Actuator 구동기능, 영상신호를 포함한 정보수집/전달과 그에 상응하는 제어 기능을 커버하는 플랫폼 기술이 중요하며, 이 목적을 위해 유무선 조합구성으로 통신의 신뢰성을 높이고, 다양한 센서 네트워크를 구비한 독립모듈 운영을 통해 보다 광범위한 장소를 탐색 정보를 제공하고, 이러한 정보를 이용하여 특수목적용도를 높일 수 있는 특수목적 기계용 제어기 Platform 전반에 관한 연구이다.
