The prosody of children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) has several abnormal features, including monotonous speech. The purpose of this study was to compare acoustic features between an ASD group and a typically developing (TD) group and within the ASD group. The study also examined audience perceptions of the lengthening effect of increasing the number of syllables. 50 participants were divided into two groups (20 with ASD and 30 TD), and they were asked to imitate a total of 28 sentences. In the auditory-perceptual evaluation, seven participants chose sentence types in 115 sentences. Pitch, intensity, speech rate, and pitch slope were used to analyze the significant differences. In conclusion, the ASD group showed higher pitch and intensity and a lower overall speaking rate than the TD group. Moreover, there were significant differences in s2 slope of interrogative sentences. Finally, based on the auditory-perceptual evaluation, only 4.3% of interrogative sentences produced by participants with ASD were perceived as declarative sentences. The cause of this abnormal prosody has not been clearly identified; however, pragmatic ability and other characteristics of autism are related to ASD prosody. This study identified prosodic ASD patterns and suggested the need to develop treatments to improve prosody.
In this study, it investigates the life of normal adolescents who have parents with intellectual disability and their difficulties which suggested social welfare meanings of this study. In order to conduct wide and in-depth analysis on cases by utilizing the characteristics of qualitative case studies, it describes and analyzes the intellectual disability parents' normal children in detail from the viewpoint of an insider through in-depth interviews, various sources and diverse data collecting methods. As for the subject of this study, both parents should be persons with intellectual disability and their child shall be non-disabled and at least a high school student or older. Through the intentional sampling, five late adolescents who were in high school, all males participated in the study. The data collection process had been conducted from January 2014 to May, which is commonly utilized for qualitative case studies, and comparative analysis between cases were practiced for analysis. For credibility of the research results, it obtained severity at each stage by meeting the standard. The analysis results were largely divided into "growth story of non-disabled adolescents" and "life of non-disabled adolescents". Nine upper categories analyzed the common features in each case. The nine categories were "no one tells me to study", "advance while learning the sense of academic achievement", "hide into my own space", "having to grown up early", "different parents but same love", "relatives raised me", "have a friend who accepts me as I am", "being pressed by poverty", and "standing on a knife edge of being hurt and taking heart". Based on the in-depth research on normal teens that have intellectually disabled parents, theoretically speaking, this study expanded the prospect of study on intellectually disabled to their normal, intellectual teenage children. As for practical significance, understanding their parents' intellectual disability, parenting technique training, case management from the community level is suggested. Rregular real condition research of the families, allowance system for economic support et al. is suggested in policy aspect.

A well-planned, precise occlusal adjustment of natural teeth has some distinct advantages over other forms of occlusal therapy. It should be emphasized, however, that an occlusal adjustment is an irreversible procedure and has definite contraindications in some mouths. Generally, the treatment methods for the patients that has open-bite will be following as below. : (1) Use of removable orthopedic repositioning appliance, (2) Orthodontics, (3) Full or partial reconstruction of the dentition, (4) Orthognathic surgical procedure, (5) Occlusal adjustment of the existing natural teeth, (6) Any combination of the above. Above all, the advantages of occlusal adjustment of natural teeth are : (1) the patient is more able to adapt to the changes in jaw position and posture; (2) the phonetic or speaking ability of the patient is not significantly changed and usually is improved; (3) the esthetics of the natural teeth is not altered and often is better; (4) the hygiene of the individual teeth is easily maintained; and (5) the functional usage of the teeth as cutting and chewing devices is markedly improved. The objective of an occlusal adjustment, as with any form of occlusal therapy, is to correct or remove the occlusal interferences, or premature contacts, on the occluding parts of the teeth which prevent a centric relation closure of the mandible. A systematic, disciplined approach can be followed in treatment, the objectives should be listed. They are : (1) Centric relation occlusion of the posterior teeth. (2) Proper "coupling" of the anterior teeth. (3) An acceptable disclusive angle of the anterior teeth in harmony with the condylar movement patterns. (4) Stability of the corrected occlusion. (5) Resolution of the related symptoms. For the patient with open-bite on anterior and posterior teeth, this case report shows the treatment methods in combination the fixed prosthesis with the selective cutting of the natural teeth. Occlusal adjustment is no longer an elective procedure but a mandatory one for patients requiring restorations and those in treatment for TMD dysfunctions or those whose dentitions show signs of occlusal trauma. Occlusal adjustment is essential for all who do not display the above lists.
More than 650 numbers of water well ranging in depth from 100M to 200M were installed in South Korean Penninsula during the last decade for the purpose of industrial use and municipal water supply. Those data were compiled and synthesized by writer to determine their hydrogeologic occurences in accordance with their geologic and areal characteristics. Rocks yielding the deep seated ground water beared in the geologic primary and secondary porosities are classified into 6 groups according to their geologic, hydrogeologic, and topographic characteristics, that are: volcanic, sedimentary, meta-sediment and/or schist, andesitic, gneissic, and granitic rocks. The order of ground water productivity of the groups is as written above. Even granitic rocks including porphyries, granite, and intermediate and basic plutonic rocks is considered to be the most poorest ground water yielding group among 6, it's average yield form a single well with average drilling depth of 116M is about 225 cubic meters per day if it's drilling site is properly located. Generally speaking, seizable geologic structures such as fractured, sheared, and faulted zone at the flat surface and valley center yield almost 310% more of deep seated bet rock ground water in comparision with minor structures of joints, bedding planes, and so on that are occured at high land. 50 numbers of water well drilled at crystalline rocks were specially checked and measured it's ground water yie 1ds at each drilled depth to determine each interval's productivity while hammer drilling was going on. The results indicate that the specific capacity and yield of each water well at a depth below 70M to 80M was almost neglegible. It means that optimum well depth of crystalline rocks, except the area having seizable geologic structures, shall be not deeper than 80M.

Recently, research and developmental direction of communication system is concurrent adopting voice data and face image in speaking to provide more higher recognition rate then in the case of only voice data. Therefore, we present a method of lipreading in speech image sequence by using the 3-D facial shape model. The method use a feature information of the face image such as the opening-level of lip, the movement of jaw, and the projection height of lip. At first, we adjust the 3-D face model to speeching face image sequence. Then, to get a feature information we compute variance quantity from adjusted 3-D shape model of image sequence and use the variance quality of the adjusted 3-D model as recognition parameters. We use the intensity inclination values which obtaining from the variance in 3-D feature points as the separation of recognition units from the sequential image. After then, we use discrete HMM algorithm at recognition process, depending on multiple observation sequence which considers the variance of 3-D feature point fully. As a result of recognition experiment with the 8 Korean vowels and 2 Korean consonants, we have about 80% of recognition rate for the plosives and vowels. We propose that usability with visual distinguishing factor that using feature vector because as a result of recognition experiment for recognition parameter with the 10 korean vowels, obtaining high recognition rate.

There isn't much of discussion about survey of traditional Korean garden with a perspective of Pungsu. Strictly speaking, it is difficult to list the names of gardens in which Pungsu theory is applied. But it is necessary to study in depth the Korean garden in mountain in relation with Pungsu. The reason is as follow; First, Pung-su and gardening both reflect man's responsive attitude and approach toward nature. Second, selecting a site for a garden requires aesthetic eyes to consider the harmony with the surrounding landscape and its compositions, where the perspective of Pungsu can play as an important component at work. Third, Pungsus complementary function justifies the correlation between Pungsu and Korean gardens. Gardens can be viewed as a solution to complement negative elements of Pungsu on site. This article tries to study the relationship between Pungsu and Korean garden in mountain in terms of Pungsu aesthetics. In Kosan Yoon Sun-Do's Buyong-dong garden, excavated perspectives of Pungsu aesthetics are fell into two categories; the spatial frame based on Pungsu topography and the dimension of enjoyment through visual angles between essential points. The former can be said as Pungsu topography as a mental image which was constructed by selected points and given Pungsu meanings; the latter is visual angles between those points by which make it possible to see and enjoy in comfortable sights. In such way making and enjoying Buyong-dong garden with full of Pungsu oriented meanings and aesthetics, Kosan Yoon Sun-Do enjoyed and sublimated his experience in nature into art.

In this paper, we realized a real-time text-independent speaker recognition system using gaussian mixture model, and applied frame level likelihood normalization method which shows its effects in verification system. The system has three parts as front-end, training, recognition. In front-end part, cepstral mean normalization and silence removal method were applied to consider speaker's speaking variations. In training, gaussian mixture model was used for speaker's acoustic feature modeling, and maximum likelihood estimation was used for GMM parameter optimization. In recognition, likelihood score was calculated with speaker models and test data at frame level. As test sentences, we used text-independent sentences. ETRI 445 and KLE 452 database were used for training and test, and cepstrum coefficient and regressive coefficient were used as feature parameters. The experiment results show that the frame-level likelihood method's recognition result is higher than conventional method's, independently the number of registered speakers.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of discourse-based math instructions on the students' mathematical attitudes and learning achievements by providing fifth graders with an opportunity to take active part in learning during math classes and applying discourse-based math instructions, which are to expand the speaking experiences as the most fundamental way to express ideas in communication. Those research efforts led to the following results: First, the discourse-based math instructions turned out to have positive influences on flexibility, will power, curiosity, reflection, and value of mathematical attitudes. When the results were reviewed before and after the instructions without considering the subvariables of attitude, there were statistically significant differences(p<0.01), which indicates that the discourse-based math instructions exerted very positive effects on the students mathematical attitudes. Second, there were no statistically significant effects in learning achievements between the experimental and comparative group, but the experimental group, which recorded low mean scores in the pre-test, increased their mean scores by 3.81 points in the post-test, which suggests that the discourse-based math instructions had positive influences on them. Third, the subjects' responses on the questionnaire on discourse-based instructions reveal that the discourse-based math instructional provided them with an opportunity to explore solutions in various ways. In short, discourse-based math instructions have positive influences on mathematical attitudes and are effective in increasing communication ability.
In Korea, two types of rice varieties are being cultivated widely, Japonica and Japonica-Indica cross. Generally speaking, the latter shows weak cold tolerance than the former and so brought about many problems in cultural practices. This study was conducted to investigate the effect . of various temperature conditions on rice seedlings growth, especially the contents of chlorophyll and the percentage of nitrogen. And the result obtained indicated the varieties of Japonica-Indica intend to weak cold tolerance than Japonica varieties.
