Currently, one of the most critical issues in developing the service support system for various spatio-temporal applications is the discoverying of meaningful knowledge from the large volume of moving object data. This sort of knowledge refers to the spatiotemporal moving pattern. To discovery such knowledge, various relationships between moving objects such as temporal, spatial and spatiotemporal topological relationships needs to be considered in knowledge discovery. In this paper, we proposed an efficient method, MPMine, for discoverying spatiotemporal moving patterns. The method not only has considered both temporal constraint and spatial constrain but also performs the spatial generalization using a spatial topological operation, contain(). Different from the previous temporal pattern methods, the proposed method is able to save the search space by using the location summarization and generalization of the moving object data. Therefore, Efficient discoverying of the useful moving patterns is possible.

The availability of the inexpensive, large main memories coupled with the demand for faster response time are bringing a new perspective to database technology. The Web GIS used by u unspecified number of general public in the internet needs high speed response time and frequent data retrieval for spatial analysis rather than data update. Therefore, it is appropriate to use main memory as a underlying storage structures for the Web GIS data. In this paper, we propose a data representation method based on relative coordinates and the size of the MBR. The method is able to compress the spatial data widely used in the Web GIS into smaller volume of memory. We also propose a memory resident spatial index with simple mechanism for processing point and region queries. The performance test shows that the index is suitable for managing the skewed data in terms of the size of the index and the number of the MBR intersection check operations.

Nowadays, spatiotemporal data models deal with objects which can be potentially useful for wide range applications in order to describe complex objects with spatial and/or temporal facilities. However, the information needed by each application usually varies, specially in the geographic information which depends on the kind of time oriented views, as defined in the modeling phase of the spatiotemporal geographic data design. To be able to deal with such diverse needs, geographic information systems must offer features that manipulate geometric, space-dependent(i.e, thematic), and spatial relationship positions with multiple time oriented views. This paper addresses problems of the formal definition of relationships among spatiotemporal objects and their properties on geographic information systems. The geographical data are divided in two main classes : geo-objects and geo-fields, which describe discrete and continuous representations of the spatial reality. I study semantics and syntax about the temporal changes of attributes and the relationship roles on geo-objects and non-geo-objects, This result will contribute on the design of object oriented spatiotemporal data model which is distinguishied from the recent geographic information system of the homogeneously anchored spatial objects
According to the recent trend on advancement of web computing technologies and diversification of spatial data types to be processed, designing and implementing of web-based applications using open sources has been regarded as one of important users-needs. In this study, a kind of geo-browser model composed of client-middleware-DBMS stack is suggested, and the prototype implementation are performed. Especially, modularization of user interfaces is contributed to increase both applicability for a certain target system and accessibility for web users. In middleware, it has functions to decrease erroneous factors on spatial data registration processes, and provides spatial data the form of OGC WxS standards. It is thought that this system is helpful to utilize as basic architecture and the related implementation model for web-based geo-spatial services and their applications.

The purpose of this study is to propose the clue of planning guideline for the elderly welfare center supporting the healthy life of the elderly through deriving the planning element of the elderly welfare center based on the Salutogenic Model(SM). The research method was proceeded with literature review. The meaning of Sense of Coherence(SOC) and Generalised Resistance Resources(GRR) which constitute Salutogenic Model is established. The correlation between SOC and GRR is analyzed. The conclusions of this study are as follows. First, EBD, BD, HD, UD, and BFD were studied as planning theories that could enhance the SOC of space. Second, based on the five planning theories, 43 planning elements needed for the elderly welfare center plan were derived. Third, as a result of classifying the plan elements based on the SOC, 'Manageability' is divided into 22 elements, 'Meaningfulness' is 11 and 'Comprehensibility' is 10 elements. Fourth, the details of the SOC items for each theory are as follows: BFD focuses on 'Manageability' with 'Manageability'(74%) and 'Comprehensibility'(26%), but 'Meaningfulness' does not exist. And UD regards 'Comprehensibility'(66%) as important, and 'Manageability' and 'Meaningfulness' as 17%. BD, on the other hand, has a high percentage of 'Meaningfulness'(70%), 'Comprehensibility'(21%) and 'Manageability'(9%). Next, the 'Manageability' of HD and EBD is 46%. And HD was 'Meaningfulness'(34%), 'Comprehensibility'(20%), and EBD was 'Meaningfulness'(30%) and 'Comprehensibility'(24%). The three items of SOC showed different distribution according to the spatial planning theory. As a result of the analysis, the spatial planning theory with the 'Comprehensibility' was related to Universal Design(UD), and the spatial planning theory with the 'Manageability' was related to Barrier-Free Design(BFD). In addition, the spatial planning theory of 'Meaningfulness' was related to Bio-philic Design(BD). Therefore, the plan of the elderly welfare center needs to approach the multidimensional design methodology to enhance the SOC(Sense of Coherence).

The purpose of this study is to present the basic direction of the desirable spatial plan for elderly care facilities by analyzing the spatial characteristics of elderly care facilities in gyeongnam-province. As a research method, 189 elderly care facilities in gyeongnam-province were investigated for location conditions, site area, floor area, total floor area, and space composition. In addition, the area of each specific space was analyzed for two elderly care facilities with a typical floor plan. The results of the survey and analysis are as follows. First, the average number of people in the facility was 53.8, and the number of people in the facility needs to be planned to be medium or less so that they can live in a more comfortable environment in the future. Second, in the location type, it was found that many facilities were distributed in the order of suburban and rural type, urban type, mountain type, and waterfront type. In addition, in terms of facility space composition, the proportion of detached facilities was 50.8%. Complex facilities require a reasonable plan in consideration of the location type and other functional facility characteristics. Third, the average total floor area per person of elderly care facilities was 27.57m2. There is a limit to constructing a unique nursing space. In the composition of bedrooms, quadruple rooms account for 67.4%, but it is necessary to expand the proportion of bedrooms that can be used by fewer people.
This study reviewed the concept of land registration and analyzed the land registration system in UK, Australia, USA, the Netherlands, France and Sweden. Land registration is a process of registering physical information and rights related to land in the land register for protection and regulation of land rights, taxation and dispute resolution. The land registration systems in the six countries were mainly analyzed in terms of policy, land register, objects and systems. As a result, first, the establishment of the land registration master plan is of paramount importance for sustainable development of land registration systems. Second, land register needs to be improved for 4D land management and service. Third, reduction of period and improvement of work efficiency for the cadastral resurveying should be considered. Last, a plan to improve public services by linking the geospatial technology with the land registration system is need.

The spatial structure of Korea has been changed drastically during the second half of this century. The events such as the Korean War and the resultant division of the Korean Peninsular into two Koreas, rapid industrialization and urbanization are the major causes among others for the spatial changes of the nation. The changes in turn have spawned a number of spatial problems. It is time, we argue, to diagnose how much the nation is now ill-structured, and to discuss of which directions the long-term spatial management be reoriented. A delphi survey was conducted during the early 1993 to fulfill such research needs. Questionnaires were distributed among geographers, planners, and high governmental officials throughout the nation. These 'experts of spatial problems' were requested to evaluate the past spatial policies and strategies, and to identify spatial and environmental problems at the national, regional and local levels. The survey included questions with regard to the spatial problems in North Korea too. A complementary literature survey in the fields of spatial sciences was accomplished as well in order to identify the major research interests and issues with regard to the nations's spatial structure. The delphi survey results indicatee that the present spatial structure: in relation to consumption, housing and economic activities is satisfactory in overall, while rather poor in terms of education, leisure and community activities. Most of the experts consider infrastructural improvements are urgent in the areas of roads, waste disposal facilitles, railroads, harbors, water supply and drainage systems. The over-concentration of economic, social and political function in the Seoul Metropolitan Region is perceived to be the most serious spatial problem in Korea. The long-term solutions suggested are strategies toward a more balanced regional development as well as toward a cleaner environment. The concensus among the experts for the short-term solution is the redistribution of population and industries from the Seoul Metropolitan Region to the intermediate and small cities. The land use policies and concurrent large-scale infrastructural projects are evaluated largely pertinent and desirable in general. It is, however, suggested that development projects be conducted in a more harmonious way with environment. The survey respondents suggest that the present environmental management policies should be reexamined critically. With regard to regional and local problems, transportation and pollutions are thought to be most serious in the Seoul Metropolitan Region, while employment opportunities, and information, education and health care services are most deprived in small cities and rural areas. The majority of the experts consider a city size of 250, 000-500, 000 population is desirable to live within. Respondents beileve that North Korea's physical environment is still not aggravated much whereas its infrastructural provisions are largely pool. The co-authors of this research figure a "environmentaly sound and spatially balanced Korean Penninsular" as the ideal type of spatial structure in Korea. The basic guidelines toward this ideal prototype are suggested: the recovery of spetial integrity, progressive restructuring of the nation, land uses geared to public welfare rather than private interests, and eco-humanistic approach in spatial policies.

This study aims to analyse the variation of spatial accessibility pattern based on 2SFCA(2 Step Floating Catchment Area) by changing its parameter values. The general pattern of the result of 2SFCA analysis shows that the spatial accessibility value is decreased by growing base population, while the spatial accessibility value is increased by growing PPR(Provider to Population Ratio). The three characteristics of local pattern in the Gumi City are founded by cluster analysis on the sensitive analysis procedure. Firstly, the variation of the accessibility values is insignificant in the fringe area of the Gumi City. Secondly, the variation of the accessibility values is diverse in the surrounding area of the welfare facilities. Especially, Dong areas are more sensitive to PPR variation, while others are more sensitive to base population variation. Thirdly, the larger parameter values, the more the spatial accessibility of the central areas, where elder people can access welfare facilities more easily, is improved. It needs to choose parameter values with caution to analyse spatial accessibility based on 2SFCA.
The GloSea5 (Global Seasonal forecasting system version 5) is provided and operated by the KMA (Korea Meteorological Administration). GloSea5 provides Forecast (FCST) and Hindcast (HCST) data and its horizontal resolution is about 60km ($0.83^{\circ}{\times}0.56^{\circ}$) in the mid-latitudes. In order to use this data in watershed-scale water management, GloSea5 needs spatial-temporal downscaling. As such, statistical downscaling was used to correct for systematic biases of variables and to improve data reliability. HCST data is provided in ensemble format, and the highest statistical correlation ($R^2=0.60$, RMSE = 88.92, NSE = 0.57) of ensemble precipitation was reported for the Yongdam Dam watershed on the #6 grid. Additionally, the original GloSea5 (600.1 mm) showed the greatest difference (-26.5%) compared to observations (816.1 mm) during the summer flood season. However, downscaled GloSea5 was shown to have only a -3.1% error rate. Most of the underestimated results corresponded to precipitation levels during the flood season and the downscaled GloSea5 showed important results of restoration in precipitation levels. Per the analysis results of spatial autocorrelation using seasonal Moran's I, the spatial distribution was shown to be statistically significant. These results can improve the uncertainty of original GloSea5 and substantiate its spatial-temporal accuracy and validity. The spatial-temporal reproducibility assessment will play a very important role as basic data for watershed-scale water management.
