Both theoretical and experimental investigations were conducted to analyze defrosting behavior of a window heater operating in the low outdoor temperature($-20^{\circ}C$). To achieve this purpose, first a warm-chamber experiment($23^{\circ}C$) was performed to measure inner and outer surface temperature of the rear window(heated by the electric heater supplying 195 W) as functions of both time and position. Secondly, a cold chamber experiment was made to continuously record defrosting process of the frosted window. From the comparisons of the two experimental results, it was found that there was a similarity between the spatial distributions of both temperature and remaining frost. Thus, the temperature data from the warm-chamber experiments can be utilized to predict an expected zone covered with remaining frosts, and this approach can also be adopted in the inspection process in order to economically guarantee optimized performance of the window heater. Finally, an analytical model based on one-dimensional, steady-state heat transfer theories was proposed and successfully predicted the outer surface temperature of the rear window surrounded by cold air($-20^{\circ}C$) for the given operating conditions(heater power, inside and outside heat transfer coefficients, and surrounding air temperature, etc.).

In this paper, a new visual servo method, which uses 5 axis picomotor to compensate the misalignment generated between a SLM and a CCD in a holographic storage device, was proposed and the effectiveness of it was proved by the experiment. In a holographic storage device, the data processing is done by the SLM and the CCD, and the shape of data is 2 dimensional binary patterns. Therefore, the exact image matching between the SLM and the CCD is very important, and the mismatching of it causes the errors in the data reconstruction. First, the brief introduction of a holographic data storage is given, then, BER concept which is errors caused by pixel mismatch between the SLM and the CCD is defined. Second, the geometric relation between 5 axis picomotor and the CCD movement is studied. Finally, the visual servo method using 5 axis picomotor to reduce the BER in a holographic storage device is proposed and experimented. From the experiment, we find that about 3% BER improvement is obtained by the proposed method.
The purpose of statistical analyses of array-CGH experiment data is to divide the whole genome into regions of equal copy number, to quantify the copy number in each region and finally to evaluate its significance of being different from two. Several statistical procedures have been proposed which include the circular binary segmentation, and a Gaussian based local regression for detecting break points (GLAD) by estimating a piecewise constant function. We propose in this note a penalized spline regression and its simultaneous confidence band(SCB) approach to evaluate the statistical significance of regions of genetic gain/loss. The region of which the simultaneous confidence band stays above 0 or below 0 can be considered as a region of genetic gain or loss. We compare the performance of the SCB procedure with GLAD and hidden Markov model approaches through a simulation study in which the data were generated from AR(1) and AR(2) models to reflect spatial dependence of the array-CGH data in addition to the independence model. We found that the SCB method is more sensitive in detecting the low level copy number alterations.
The quasistatic approximation is incorporated in HEXKIN, a 2-group, 2-dimensional reactor kinetics code specially developed for a hexagonal lattice-type reactor. The code allows maximum 15 delayed neutron groups, 279 lattice points, and 500 different driving functions to be able to initiate perturbation at each lattice point. Reactivity feedback due to power-dependent fuel temperature change is also involved. To check the accuracy of the code, a result of numerical experiment is compared with the measurement at the Savannah River Laboratory. The experiment was specifically designed to emphasize delayed neutron holdback. The calculated flux tilts agree with the measured flux tilts within the small uncertainty of the measurements.
The main object of this paper is that it's possible to monitoring the deformation of cable in the tensegrity structure. always monitoring system of Fiber Bragg Grating(FBG)Sensor is described. The measurement of parts on the cable is very important. We make an experiment with measuring deformation of cable in the tensegrity structure to the pressure conditions. In the result of experiment, the fiber sensors showed good response to the pressure conditions. Therefore, We could calculate the deformation of cable structure and be possible health monitoring of the tensegrity structure.

Terrestrial LiDAR can measure high capacity 3D-topography coordinates and try to apply to various public works such as tunnel surveying, facility deformation surveying. This experiment is about how to calculate ground cutting volume because the stage of the earth work spend lots of money and time among civil engineering works. Surveying cutting area using Terrestrial LiDAR and then calculating cutting area in planned area comparing sectional plan before construction and planned section and LiDAR data. Also, the values of the calculating ground cutting volume by three different resolution LiDAR has are compared and analyzed.

Large-Eddy Simulation (LES) is applied for the simulation of compressible flat plate boundary with Reynolds number up to 5 X 10$^{5}$ . Numerical examples include shock/boundary layer interaction and boundary layer transition, aiming future application to the analysis of transonic fan/compressor cascades. The present LES code uses hybrid com-pact/WENO scheme for the spatial discretization and compact diagonalized implicit scheme for the time integration. The present code successfully predicted the bypass transition of subsonic boundary layer. As for supersonic turbulent boundary layer, mean and fluctuation velocity of the attached boundary, as well as the evolution of the friction coefficient and the displacement thickness both upstream and downstream of the separation region are all in good agreement with experiment. The separation point also agreed with the experiment. In the simulation of the shock/laminar boundary layer interaction, the dependence of the transition upon the shock strength is reproduced qualitatively, but the extent of the separation region is overpredicted. These numerical examples show that LES can predict the behavior of boundary layer including transition and shock interaction, which are hardly managed by the conventional Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes approach, although there needs to be more effort before achieving quantitative agreement.

We present experimental observations of two-photon spatial bunching effect in a two-photon interference experiment by using the photon pairs produced by parametric down-conversion and the Hong-Ou-Mandel interferometer. We show that this pairing behavior is observed by coincidence detection, but gives a negligible effect for a single count.

The primary objective of this research was to develop optimal models for masking the road traffic noise with the sound of a waterfall at urban small green spaces. Noise levels were measured at 8 roadside green spaces in SEOUL and questionnaires were randomly distributed to 40 users for evaluating the noise at each site at the same time. College students participated in the experiment for the development of masking models and the developed models were tested by users at 2 green spaces. The major results are as follows ; 1. Traffic noises ranged from 65dBto 70 dB. Users' satisfaction with the noise became considerably low on the basis of 60 dB and it was highly related to noise level. 2. Noise was a main factor to depreciate the amenity of green spaces where its level was more than 60 dB and so it neds to be excluded or reduced the traffic noise at the process of design. 3. Masking effects kept constant independent of the spatial location of masker on condition that masker levels were equal. It was effective when masker was 5-10dB greater than noise level which was masked. 4. As noise level went up, satisfaction ratings about the masked noise became low but masking effects increased in proportion to its level. 5. It was proved that the models were valid through the field experiment.

Discharge characteristics of inductively coupled plasma were investigated by using electrostatic probe and fluid simulation. The Inductively Coupled Plasma source driven by 13.56 Mhz was prepared. The signal attenuation ratios of the electrostatic probe at first and second harmonic frequency was tuned in 13.56Mhz and 27.12Mhz respectively. Electron temperature, electron density, plasma potential, electron energy distribution function and electron energy probability function were investigated by using the electrostatic probe. Experiment results were compared with the fluid simulation results. Ar plasma fluid simulations including Navier-Stokes equations were calculated under the same experiment conditions, and the dependencies of plasma parameters on process parameters were well agreed with simulation results. Because of the reason that the more collision happens in high pressure condition, plasma potential and electron temperature got lower as the pressure was higher and the input power was higher, but Electron density was higher under the same condition. Due to the same reason, the electron energy distribution was widening as the pressure was lower. And the electron density was higher, as close to the gas inlet place. It was found that gas flow field significantly affect to spatial distribution of electron density and temperature.
