Collated data from the 1995-1996 floristic surveys of weeds of arable peat in Selangor district were analysed to assess composition and dominance and spatial distribution pattern based on quantitative and dispersion indices. Forty eight weed species belonging to 19 families of which 31 were broad leaves, 10 grasses and 7 sedges were sampled and these ware translated as 77.8 and 15% of the total cover, respectively, The respective important values were 71.11 and 18%. Ten species in the onder of dominance were Fimbristylis acuminata, Murdannia nudiflora, Hedyotis corymbosa, Ageratum conyzoides, Asystasia gangetica, Cleome rutidosperma, Cyperus sphacelatus, Lindernia crustacea, Ludwigia hyssopifolia of spatial distribution based on variance-to-mean ratios, Llouds mean crowding or Lloyds patchiness indices. Other species were either random or regular in their spatial distribution. Differences in species-dominance and spatial distribution pattern may be attributed to inherent variations in patchiness and fecundity schedules of each weed species, crops, cropping patterns and agronomic practices prevailing in the area.
The primary purpose of this study is to compare and analyze the performance of local spatial autocorrelation techniques in identifying spatial distribution patterns of green spaces. To achieve the objective, this researcher uses satellite image analysis and spatial autocorrelation techniques. The result of the study shows that the LISA cluster map with the spatial outlier cluster is superior to other analytical methods in identifying the spatial distribution pattern of urban green space. This study can contribute to the related fields in that it uses several different research methods than the existing ones. Despite this differentiation and usefulness, this study has limitations in using low-resolution satellite imagery and NDVI among vegetation indices in identifying spatial distribution patterns of green areas. These limitations may be overcome in future studies by using UAV images or by simultaneously using several vegetation indices.
Korea, which has undergone a rapid urbanization, faces various problems such as the management of facilities, safety, environment and transportation. To solve civil complaints, local governments receive electronic complaints, but complaints are increasing. Therefore, this study conducted the spatial distribution pattern analysis and the trend analysis by presenting location data on spatial information through Geo-coding by collecting electronic civil petition data over the last 10 years targeting Jinju city. Using the ARIMA model, this study predicted the occurrence of complaints over the next two years (2016~2017) through a time series forecast analysis. As a result, the complaints related to illegal parking were the highest, the complaint related to noise was the second highest, and the complaints related to illegal garbage dumping was the third highest. In addition, the analysis of the spatial distribution pattern shows that the largest hot spot was formed in the central commercial district every year. As a result of the time series forecasting analysis for the crackdown of the illegal parking, complaints increased slightly. To compare the predicted value and the actual data showed a similar pattern. It is judged that this study will be utilized to establish effective countermeasures against civil complaints.
This study was performed for exploring the spatial distribution pattern of Pinus densiflora and Quercus spp. in Korea. Firstly, the spatial distribution map of Pinus densiflora and Quercus spp. was prepared in grid of $100m{\times}100m$ at national level, using digital forest type map and actual vegetation map. And thematic maps for topography, climate, and soil were also prepared in the raster form of $100m{\times}100m$. Through GIS based spatial analysis of the digital distribution map of Pinus densiflora and Quercus spp. and thematic maps, the spatial characteristics of Pinus densiflora and Quercus spp. distribution was explored in relation to the environmental factors such as topography, climate, and soil. And the occurrence frequency models of Pinus densiflora and Quercus spp. were derived. Pinus densiflora occurs more often than Quercus spp. at low elevation, low slope gradient, and high temperature areas. In addition, Pinus densiflora is mainly distributed at shallow and well-drained loamy soil from igneous rocks. In contrast, Quercus spp. is more common at shallow and well-drained loamy soil from metamorphic rocks. As a result, the prediction model for the spatial distribution of Pinus densiflora and Quercus spp. by topographical variables has proven successful with high statistical significance. The result of this study can contribute to rational management of Pinus densiflora and Quercus spp. stand in Korea, considering environmental factors such as topography, climate, and soil.

This study aims to analyze the spatial distribution pattern of international trade. The method is to analyze the principal components by changing interaction attribute matrix of four dimensions (hinterland, gateway, foreland and commodities) into two dimension matrix. The study area is the territory region of Cheongju clearance depot in inland. The result are as follows : Major spatial patterns of regional connections by hinterland, gateway and foreland are, in the case of exports, ten patterns and in the case of imports come to nine. Composition of major export and import commodities in Cheongju clearance depot are similar, but precision instrument manufactured commodity and nonmetal mineral are remarkable in export and mineral manufactured commodity machinery and electronic manufactured commodity are remarkable in import. Gateway are similar to export and import, but Incheon international airport is used more in the case of import. And Cheongiu international airport is used for some commodities and is remarkable as a foreland of import for the areas outside of Chungcheongbuk-do.
Map generalization functions to visualize the spatial data or to change their scale by changing the level of details of data. Until recently, the studies on map generalization have concentrated more on line features than on point features. However, point features are one of the essential components of digital maps and cannnot be ignored because of the great amount of information they carry. This study, therefore, aimed to find out a detailed procedure of point features' generalization. Particularly, this work chose the distribution pattern of point features as the most important factor in the point generalization in investigating the geometric characteristics of source data. First, it attempted to find out the characteristics of distribution pattern of point features through quadrat analysis with Grieg-Smith method and nearest-neighbour analysis. It then generalized point features through the generalization threshold which did not alter the characteristics of distribution pattern and the removal of redudant point feautres. Therefore, the generalization procedure of point features provided by this work maintained the geometric characteristics as much as possible.
Since the demands not only for value-added timber but the environmental functions of forests had been increased, native tree species has been, and is rapidly being replaced by foreign tree species in many parts of the world. However, the studies on population structure and regeneration characteristics of native tree species were not conducted enough. Regeneration of Kalopanax septemlobus growing among other hardwoods in natural forests is very difficult because of its low seed viability and germination rate. The study examined the distribution of mature trees of K. septemlobus and their regeneration pattern at the 1.12 ha study plot in natural deciduous broad-leaved forest of Mt. Jeombong. The density and mean DBH of K. septemlobus was 97 trees per ha and 32 cm, respectively. The spatial distribution of K. septemlobus showed a random pattern (aggregation index is 0.935) in the 1.12 ha study plot. The age of 90 trees among 99 sample trees of K. septemlobus ranged from 90 to 110 years and represented a single cohort, thus suggesting that K. septemlobus in advance regeneration has regenerated as a result of disturbances such as canopy opening.
The primary purpose of this study is to identify spatial distribution patterns of co-authoring activities in Korean cadastral science. The analysis showed that a small number of researchers played an essential role in the Korean cadastral co-authorship network. In particular, some authors not only had a significant influence on other nodes in the network but also served as intermediaries between researchers. Moreover, the distance between researchers influenced co-authorship decisions to a limited extent. This study differs considerably from previous studies in that it used spatial analysis techniques to identify spatial distribution patterns of co-authoring activities. However, this research is limited in that it applied only 2019 data to determine the spatial distribution pattern of co-authoring activities. We can overcome this limitation if we analyze the spatial distribution patterns of co-authoring activities using multi-year data in future studies.

In the early stage of industrial development, most of software companies were agglomerated at the CBD(Central Business Districts) in Seoul. However, the spatial distribution pattern of Korean Software industry has been changed according to the propagation of broadband, the change in rents, the governmental policy for industrial districts. In this research, using the software year book at 1997 and 2007, the emerging new pattern was analyzed using spatial clustering analysis. As a results of research, the spatial distribution was expanded in morphological changes. However, it was found that there was not a significant difference in a degree of accumulation. In the aspect of behavioral movement of companies, they tend to be relocated from the CBD to urban fringes and their movement is related to the product life cycle in selecting the clustered place.

In 2002, the 5-day workweek policy was effective in Korea. As we have expected, the 5-day workweek policy has changed people's travel behavior during weekdays and weekends. Several studies have been done to understand these changes and impacts on transportation systems. However, these studies have only focused on travel pattern changes without considering spatial factors. Said in another way, although individual travel pattern changes are usually investigated, indices adopted cannot describe travel pattern changes in a proper way due to lack of the spatial distribution measure. This study aims to analyze travel change since the 5-day work week policy in effect using a new index (i.e. Travel Vector Index) developed in this study, which can explain travel pattern changes in terms of magnitude and spatial point of views. The new index uses a GIS technology and TCS (Toll Collection System) databases in Korea. The results in this study show that the index is very useful and reliable to measure the travel patterns changes. They are applied to TCS data set and the results show that the 5-day workweek policy significantly affects on travel behaviors.
