Simple Recursive Approach for Detecting Spatial Clusters

  • A binary segmentation procedure is a simple recursive approach to detect clusters and provide inferences for the study space when the shape of the clusters and the number of clusters are unknown. The procedure involves a sequence of nested hypothesis tests of a single cluster versus a pair of distinct clusters. The size and the shape of the clusters evolve as the procedure proceeds. The procedure allows for various growth clusters and for arbitrary baseline densities which govern the form of the hypothesis tests. A real tree data is used to highlight the procedure.

  • Two robots working in a common workspace may collide with each other. In this paper, a collision-free motion planning algorithm using view time concept is proposed to detect and avoid collision before robot motion. Collision may occur not only at the robot end effector but also at robot links. To detect and avoid potential collisions, the trajectory of the first robot is sampled periodically at every view time and the region in Cartesian space swept by the first robot is viewed as an obstacle during a single sampling period. The forbidden region in the joint constraint map (JCM). The JCM's are obtained in this way at every view time. An algorithm is established for collision-free motion planning of the two robot system from the sequence of JCM's and it is verified by simulations.

  • A DEDS is a system whose states change in response to the occurence of events from a predefined event set. In this paper, we consider the optimal control and reasoning problem for Discrete Event Systems(DES) in the Temporal Logic Framework(TEL) which have been recnetly defined. The TLE is enhanced with objective functions(event cost indices) and a measurement space is alos deined. A sequence of event which drive the system form a give initial state to a given final state is generated by minimizing a cost functioin index. Our research goal is the reasoning of optimal trajectory and the design of the optimal controller for DESs. This procedure could be guided by the heuristic search methods. For the heuristic search, we suggested the Stochastic Ruler algorithm, instead of the A algorithm with difficulties as following ; the uniqueness of solutions, the computational complexity and how to select a heuristic function. This SR algorithm is used for solving the optimal problem. An example is shown to illustrate our results.

  • In this paper, we investigate interference between short-range radiocommunication devices (SRDs) with frequency hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) and direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) methods when they are in the same frequency bands. In order to analyze interference from unwanted emission of SRD with DSSS to that of FHSS, Monte-Carlo (MC) simulation method is employed and interference probabilities are calculated. We simulate interference scenarios in accordance with several duty cycles and bandwidths. It is also assumed that the propagation model is free space The effect of distance between interfering transmitter and victim receiver is analyzed and bit error rate (BER) is simulated. From the interference analysis results, it is shown that duty cycle affects compatibility more than bandwidth does. Also, we can make sure of the separation distance which satisfies BER criterion when there are only one interfering transmitter and multiple interfering transmitters.

  • This paper proposes a sensor-fusion technique where the data sets for the previous moments are properly transformed and fused into the current data sets to enable accurate measurement, such as, distance to an obstacle and location of the service robot itself. In the conventional fusion schemes, the measurement is dependent on the current data sets. As the results, more of sensors are required to measure a certain physical parameter or to improve the accuracy of the measurement. However, in this approach, instead of adding more sensors to the system , the temporal sequence of the data sets are stored and utilized for the measurement improvement.   • Seven axis modular type pneumatic manipulator is composed of electro-pneumatic automation system which contributes to factory automation by performing loading & unloading process successively which is simple routine work of dealing item of machine tool, catapult, assembly machine, welding machine and so on. In this study, we obtained soft and quick movement in a large space and good reliability motion of various function by combining several actuators which perform rotation movement as well as linear movement at the same time. Gripper which apply to rotary sensor transmitted a structure to demanded position. This development item of 5kgf load prevent stick-slip phenomena of stroke end by designing high cushion internal. We develope flexible manipulator which conforms to demand of user by applying multiple sequence program.

  • Given vectors x and y in a separable complex Hilbert space $\mathcal{H}$, an interpolating operator is a bounded operator A such that Ax = y. We show the following: Let $Alg{\mathcal{L}}$ be a tridiagonal algebra on $\mathcal{H}$ and let $x=(x_i)$ and $y=(y_i)$ be vectors in $\mathcal{H}$. Then the following are equivalent: (1) There exists a unitary operator $A=(a_{ij})$ in $Alg{\mathcal{L}}$ such that Ax = y. (2) There is a bounded sequence $\{{\alpha}_i\}$ in $\mathbb{C}$ such that ${\mid}{\alpha}_i{\mid}=1$ and $y_i={\alpha}_ix_i$ for $i{\in}\mathbb{N}$.

  • Composite reinforced fiber materials are used in lots of fields such as a part of aeronautic space, ship, machinery and so on because can make structure wished for necessary condition by control fiber direction and laminated sequence. As the use of advanced composites increase, specific techniques have been developed to repair changed composite structures. In order to repair the damaged part production high quality composite reinforced fiber are completed by control the surrounding temperature and press in autoclave. The quality is influenced heat exposure degree by chemical reaction for precessing. This study considerated influence limit of using by repair structure part and change of properties according to heat exposure degree for repairing.

  • This paper considers a hybrid flow shop scheduling problem for the objective of minimizing the number of tardy jobs. The hybrid flow shop consists of two stages in series, each of which has multiple identical parallel machines, and the problem is to determine the allocation and sequence of jobs at each stage. A branch and bound algorithm that gives the optimal solutions is suggested that incorporates the methods to obtain the lower and upper bounds. Dominance properties are also derived to reduce the search space. To show the performance of the algorithm, computational experiments are done on randomly generated problems, and the results are reported.

  • In this paper, we introduce a general iterative algorithm for finding a common element of the common fixed point set of an infinite family of ${\lambda}_i$-strict pseudo-contractions and the solution set of a general system of variational inclusions for two inverse strongly accretive operators in q-uniformly smooth Banach spaces. Then, we analyze the strong convergence of the iterative sequence generated by the proposed iterative algorithm under mild conditions.
