  • Software product line development is a development paradigm that efficiently develops a product family by avoiding redundant development based on separation of the common part and the variable part of the product family. In software product line development, the source code that is used to produce a product family is called a product line code base, and when the product line code base is changed and the products of the product family are affected by the change, the activity of testing the affected products is called a product line regression testing. For product line regression testing, instead of conducting regression testing individually on each product of the product family, a more efficient regression testing would be possible if unnecessary testing that are irrelevant to the change can be avoided. This paper introduces SRTS, which is an automated method to efficiently perform software product line regression testing. SRTS divides the product line code base and test cases based on commonality and variability. Then SRTS identifies and selects the test cases affected by the change. Finally, it reduces unnecessary testing by rerunning only the selected test cases.

  • Similar software is often developed with the Clone-And-Own (CAO) approach that copies and modifies existing artifacts. The CAO approach is considered as a bad practice because it makes maintenance difficult as the number of cloned products increases. Software product line engineering is a methodology that can solve the issue of the CAO approach by developing a product family through systematic reuse. Migrating product families that have been developed with the CAO approach to the product line engineering begins with finding, integrating, and building them as reusable assets. However, cloning occurs at various levels from directories to code lines, and their structures can be changed. This makes it difficult to build product line code base simply by finding clones. Successful migration thus requires unifying the source code's file path, class name, and method signature. This paper proposes a clustering method that identifies a set of similar codes scattered across product variants and some of their method full paths are different, so path unification is necessary. In order to show the effectiveness of the proposed method, we conducted an experiment using the Apo Games product line, which has evolved with the CAO approach. As a result, the average precision of clustering performed without preprocessing was 0.91 and the number of identified common clusters was 0, whereas our method showed 0.98 and 15 respectively.

  • In this paper we constructed semantic net that can efficiently conform retrieval and reuse of object-oriented source code. In odor that initial relevance of semantic net was constructed using thesaurus to represent concept of object-oriented inheritance between each node. Also we made up for the weak points in spreading activation method that use to activate node and line of semantic net and to impulse activation value. Therefore we proposed the method to enhance retrieval time and to keep the quality of spreading activation.

  • This paper studied how much influence UTF coded data is given to HDB-3 operation efficiency. This paper applied the Hangul Jamo and Compatability Hangul Jamo in Unicode to compare to its UTF-8 coded data. As a result of study, When Unicode is reformatted to UTF-8 code, the data code run counter to the source coding rule was very much increased.

  • In this study, the nature of nonlinear field line resonances (FLR) is studied by adopting full MHD simulations. The MHD code used here is based on the total variation diminishing (TVD) scheme and we have performed numerical simulations of FLR with its three-dimensional code. If the source perturbation is strongly impulsive and thus the timescale of the initial variations is sufficiently smaller than the convection timescale, FLRs are easily confirmed in these simulations. When the disturbance is sufficiently small, it is shown that linear properties of MHD wave coupling are well reproduced. In order to examine nonlinear nature of FLR, wave spectra, Poynting flux and energy distribution are studied at resonances as the magnitude of initial disturbance gradually increases.

  • Software maintenance becomes extremely difficult, especially caused by multiple versions in project-based or customer-oriented software development methodology. For reducing the maintenance cost, reengineering to software product line can be a solution to the software which either is a family of products nevertheless little different functionalities or are customized for each different customer's requirement. At an initial stage of the reengineering, the most important activity in software product line is feature extraction with respect to commonality and variability from the existing system due to verifying functional coverage. Several researchers have studied to extract features. They considered only a single version in a single product. However, this is an obstacle to classify the commonality and variability of features. Therefore, we propose a method for systematically extracting features from source code and its change history considering several versions of the existing system. It enables us to represent functionalities reflecting developer's intention, and to clarify the rationale of variation.

  • Recently a multilayer spectral inversion (MLSI) model has been proposed to infer the physical parameters of plasmas in the solar chromosphere. The inversion solves a three-layer radiative transfer model using the strong absorption line profiles, H alpha and Ca II 8542 Å, taken by the Fast Imaging Solar Spectrograph (FISS). The model successfully provides the physical plasma parameters, such as source functions, Doppler velocities, and Doppler widths in the layers of the photosphere to the chromosphere. However, it is quite expensive to apply the MLSI to a huge number of line profiles. For example, the calculating time is an hour to several hours depending on the size of the scan raster. We apply deep neural network (DNN) to the inversion code to reduce the cost of calculating the physical parameters. We train the models using pairs of absorption line profiles from FISS and their 13 physical parameters (source functions, Doppler velocities, Doppler widths in the chromosphere, and the pre-determined parameters for the photosphere) calculated from the spectral inversion code for 49 scan rasters (~2,000,000 dataset) including quiet and active regions. We use fully connected dense layers for training the model. In addition, we utilize a skip connection to avoid a problem of vanishing gradients. We evaluate the model by comparing the pairs of absorption line profiles and their inverted physical parameters from other quiet and active regions. Our result shows that the deep learning model successfully reproduces physical parameter maps of a scan raster observation per second within 15% of mean absolute percentage error and the mean squared error of 0.3 to 0.003 depending on the parameters. Taking this advantage of high performance of the deep learning model, we plan to provide the physical parameter maps from the FISS observations to understand the chromospheric plasma conditions in various solar features.

  • This paper presents a new and efficient scheme to determine the optimal neutron source position in a model near-equilibrium pressurized water reactor, which is based on the OPR1000 Hanul Unit 3 Cycle 7 configuration. The proposed scheme particularly assigns importance of source positions according to the local adjoint flux distribution. In this research, detailed pin-by-pin reactor adjoint fluxes are determined by using the Monte Carlo KENO-VI code from solutions of the reactor homogeneous critical adjoint transport equations. The adjoint fluxes at each allowable source position are subsequently ranked to yield four candidate positions with the four highest adjoint fluxes. The study next simulates ex-core detector responses using the Monte Carlo MAVRIC code by assuming a neutron source is installed in one of the four candidate positions. The calculation is repeated for all positions. These detector responses are later converted into an inverse count rate ratio curve for each candidate source position. The study confirms that the optimal source position is the one with very high adjoint fluxes and detector responses, which is interestingly the original source position in the OPR1000 core, as it yields an inverse count rate ratio curve closest to the traditional 1/M line. The current work also clearly demonstrates that the proposed adjoint flux-based approach can be used to efficiently determine the optimal geometry for a neutron source and a detector in a modern pressurized water reactor core.
