소리의 청각적 속성에 따른 감성차원 분석 (The Analysis of Sound Attributes on Sensibility Dimensions)

  • 소리나 음악을 '감정, 감성의 언어'라고 표현한다. 이것은 소리라는 물리적 속성들이 인간의 감성 정보를 효과적이고 풍부하게 전달하는 좋은 수단일 수 있기 때문이다. 하지만 정보의 청각적 제시에 대한 효과적 방안을 연구하는 청각 디스플레이(auditory displays) 분야의 연구자들은 주로 특정 시스템 사용자의 과제수행 결과의 효율성 증진에만 초점을 맞추어 왔었다. 이러한 한계점을 극복하고 청각적 정보 제시의 적용 영역을 확장하고자 최근 많은 연구자들이 과제수행 결과뿐 아니라 개인의 선호와 감성적 만족이 더 중요한 요인이 될 수 있음을 지적하고 있다. 이런 배경으로 본 연구에서는 소리에 대한 감성어휘 수집과 분석을 통해 소리의 감성공간을 '즐거움(Pleasure)', '복잡성(Complexity)', '활동성(Activity)'의 세 개 차원으로 구축하고, 그 차원에서 음고(pitch), 음량(loudness), 음색(timbre), 그리고 지속시간(duration)과 같은 소리의 다양한 속성에 따른 감성의 이동을 체계적으로 살펴보았다. 그 결과, 각 차원들에서 소리의 여러 속성들에 따른 감성적 차이와 그 상호관계를 확인하였다. 결론적으로 이러한 결과들은 청각 사용자 인터페이스(Auditory User Interface)와 같이 청각 디스플레이(auditory displays) 분야에 적용되어 소리의 속성에 따라 감성 정보를 응용하여 사용자의 특성과 요구에 맞춰 정보를 제시하는 데 기여할 것이다.

자동차 임팩트 소음에 대한 주관적 평가 및 차량 개발에 응용 (Estimation of Subjective Evaluations for Impact Sound and Analysis of the Effects for Parts of a Car)

  • Impact noise is induced in a car when it is driven on a harsh road or over some bumps. This noise occurs with the very high level of sound, which affects passengers in some way or other. Although it is impossible to clearly remove such noise, it is necessary to research an improvement in sound quality for impact noise. A new sound metric for impact sound is presented. This metric is verified by comparison between mean subjective ratings and several sound metrics. In this paper, more objective attributes are considered, which the attributes are expressing the level and modulation of sound. Three sound metrics are employed to get impact sound indexes for each course by the method of multiple linear regressions. The indexes are verified by considering the correlation between the estimated values from the multiple linear regressions and the mean subjective ratings by evaluators. Also, the subjective ratings on the indexes are estimated for the case in which some parts of suspension system are changed. The estimated ratings represent more reasonable or acceptable ratings. Thus, such indexes can be used for modification of the parts of suspension system under considering a good sound quality.

방향성을 가진 회전체 소음의 청각계 인지 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Auditory Perception Characteristics of Directional Tonal Noise)

  • This paper presents the HRTF based experimental approach to figure out why the human auditory perception on the interior noise source including the directional tonal components does not well match with the dominant features extracted from recorded acoustic signals in terms of psycho-acoustics. Since the general objective evaluation models for tonalness among various sound attributes are a function of width, frequency, excessive level of tonal components respectively, the directional tonal components cannot be properly evaluated without considering the effects of head-related transfer function on the binaural auditory perception. Thus, the directivity of source is additionally considered to prevent the erroneous conclusions from the same sound source in the process of source identification. The signal synthesis technique is used to solve a little difficulty in measuring all of desired acoustic signals for jury evaluation. The sound attributes of synthetic acoustics signals are analyzed to roughly predict the results of jury evaluation in advance by using sound quality factors such as loudness, sharpness, roughness, fluctuation strength and tonality. The jury evaluation is carefully conducted based on the recommended guideline suggested by N. Ottoet al. Each sound is respectively evaluated by selecting a value between -2 and 2 in intervals of 0.2 point. Through above procedure, based on the results of jury evaluation, it is confirmed that serious problems can be caused in the process of analyzing the dominant sound attributes in terms of psycho-acoustics according to the type of a microphone and a playback system.

  • This study performed an physical analysis on the characteristics of urban environmental sound divided into three parts depending on their features. Object sounds were classified into traffic sound, waster sound and spatial sound. Traffice sound was selected because it is dominant sound in urban environment, and water sound is selected because it generally supplies pleasantness in contrast to traffic sound, Finally spatial sound was considered because it represents sound in various places of city having lots of behaviors and types of sound due to them. Physcal analysis was carried out using sound quality indices based on Zwicker's loudness, $L_{Aeq}$(equivalent noise level), Ln(percentile noise level) and other acoutical attributes applied to previous study. Through the analysis, this study aims to compare the acoustical characteristics of urban environmental sound and to provide fundamental data for the evaluation of urban environmental sound.

동양 철학에서의 소리의 속성과 감성 유형 - 중국의 악론과 조선의 천기론을 중심으로 (Attributes of sound and emotional type in the Eastern philosophy - Focused on Chinese Akron(樂論) and Chosun Chongiron(天機論))

  • 본 논문에서는 "악기"의 성유애락론과 이를 비판적으로 논의한 혜강의 성무애락론, 조선시대의 "악학궤범"과 천기론을 주장한 일련의 학자들의 이론을 통해서 한국인 혹은 동양인의 사고에 전통적으로 내재되어 있는 소리와 감성의 속성 및 그 유형에 대해 살펴보았다. "기"를 통해서는 애심, 락심, 희심, 노심, 경심, 애심(哀心, 樂心, 喜心, 怒心, 敬心, 愛心)의 여섯 가지 감성과 관련된 각각의 소리에 대해 고찰하였다. 소리는 객관적 외물일 뿐이지 마음의 형이 아니라고 주장한 혜강의 논의를 통해서는 그가 맹정(猛靜), 단복(單複), 서질(舒疾), 고비, 선악(善惡)으로 규정한 소리의 속성이 크기(loudness), 세밀성(sharpness), 피치(pitch), 거칠기(roughness), 요동강도(fluctuation strength), 쾌적감(pleasantness) 등과 대응되고 있음을 살펴보았다. "악학궤범"을 통해서는 당시 조선 유학자들의 소리와 감성에 대한 사고가 "악기"를 기본으로 한 유가적 악론과 음률에 바탕을 두고 있음을 확인하고, 천기론을 통해서는 천기를 통해 발현된 소리와 감성의 관계에 대해 살펴보았다. 동양인의 의식에 내재된 소리와 감성의 관계에 대한 분석은 한국인 혹은 동양인의 감성에 기반한 소리 유형 분석의 기초가 됨으로써 여러 분야에서 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

자동차용 오디오의 실내음질 평가인자에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Assessment Factors for Car Audio Sound Quaility)

  • It is getting higher the demand on a good sound in a car. Like some other sensory qualities, achieving a good sound is still treated as a black-box followed by the individual taste of tuning engineers. This study aims to define the attributes of a good car audio sound and the assessment factors affecting the sound quality. With a variety of surveys on professional listening groups and car audio installers, 26 most frequently used vocabularies are selected as typical presentations of car audio sound quality. After repetitions of listening tests with deliberately selected test CD, pre-recorded 15 different digital car-recordings, headphones replay system, and three different listening groups, it is proved that there are at least 5 different assessment factors which significantly affect the car audio sound quality. They are high fidelity, spectral balance, tonal accuracy, sound stage and acoustic fault.

  • Pitch is a perception related to the subjective frequency that is one of the psychological aspects or attributes of tones. It is also an important factor to determine the sound quality together with loudness and timber. Although the study on pitch has been active in the field of speech communication, but its application to the product sound quality is not yet enough. In this study, the empirical data by Zwicker is made use in the modification of the currently available pitch extraction model based on the place theory. By applying this modified model to various sound samples composed of tonal or banded components, the applicability of the model is suggested. As a demonstration example, the algorithm is used for the sound quality analysis of a product noise having fundamental frequency and harmonics. The result shows that the pitch should be regarded as an important subjective cue in the sound quality analysis.

  • 메타데이터는 데이터에 대한 속성이나 특징을 설명하는 구조화된 데이터를 말한다. 그중에서 비디오 메타데이터는 정확한 콘텐츠 기반 검색을 위해 비디오를 구성하는 정보에서 추출한 데이터를 의미한다. 최근 영상 콘텐츠를 이용하는 사용자들이 늘어나면서 자연스럽게 OTT 제공 업체들 역시 늘어나고 있으며, OTT 제공 업체에서 많은 양의 영상 콘텐츠를 개인 사용자에게 추천 또는 알맞은 검색을 위해 메타데이터의 역할이 중요해지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 영상의 효과음을 통해 분위기 속성에 대한 메타데이터를 자동으로 추출하는 방법에 관해 연구를 진행하였다. 영상의 효과음에 대한 분류와 분위기 속성에 대한 메타데이터 생성을 위해 분위기에 대한 용어사전을 구축하고 지도학습을 통해 정보를 추출하는 방법을 제안하고자 한다.
