  • When the vibration of the thin panel by exciting single point is used to radiate sound, the inherent vibration characteristic of the plate itself causes influence on the radiated sound. A conventional panel speaker system usually uses the single or double point excitations for generating the sound through the panel itself. The radiated sound can be easily distorted due to the modal characteristics of the plate so it is difficult to expect sufficient sound power or high radiation efficiency. In this paper, to achieve an immersive sound field, the multiple speaker zones on a thin panel are created with the limited number of actuators. The designated vibration field which can generates directional sound is realized by employing the vibro-acoustic inverse rendering methods. Actuators are arranged from the positions which have the advantage of implementing with multi-modal excitations. The location and number of actuators are compared with the location and number of controllable speaker zones by conducting numerical simulations.

  • In this study, a design method using plane actuator is developed to make new speaker system, whose shape is much thinner than that of conventional loudspeaker. Piezofilm(PVDF) is used as plane actuator of flat speaker. To avoid the distortion of sound radiated from flat speaker, the frequency response of radiated sound to be flat is taken as the design objective. The electrode pattern and orientation angle of piezofilm actuator is optimized to satisfy the design objective. The formulation is based on the coupled finite element and boundary element method. Genetic algorithm is used in the optimization process, which is useful in the optimization of discrete design variables. Frequency response with optimized piezofilm actuator is made flat enough to satisfy the design objective. For the enhancement of sound power, double-layered piezofilm actuators are also considered. The sound power with double-layered actuator becomes larger than that with single-layered actuator as expected.

  • In this paper an ultrasonic loud speaker (ie,. parametric speaker) driving technic was proposed. The study was focused on reduction of distortion in self-demodulated sound using a sound source deriven by MDSB(Modified Double Side Band) signal. And, the esperiment was performed in acoustic wave guide usin the developed MDSB unit according to the variation of distance from the source. In the result, prposed MDSB method was found to decrease second harnonic distortion in -3 to -6 dB compared to conventional DSB method.

  • Recent development in multi-channel surround is emerging in various formats to provide better stereoscopic and sound effects to consumers in recent broadcasting. The ability sound localize the sound sources in space is most considerable design factor on multi-channel surround system for human earing perception model. However, this paper propose the change of the sound localization according to the spacing of the speakers, which is not covered in the existing research focus on sound system design. Presently the sound system uses the position and number of the speakers to localize the sound. In the multi-channel surround environment, the proposed design uses the sound localization is caused by the directional characteristics of the speaker, the distance between the speakers and the distance between the listener and the speaker according to the directivity is required. The proposed design is simulated using virtual measurement with MATLAB simulation environment and performances are measured.

  • Automatic speech recognition is much more difficult in real world. Speech recognition according to SIR (Signal to Interface Ratio) is difficult in situations in which noise of surrounding environment and multi-speaker exists. Therefore, study on main speaker's voice extractions a very important field in speech signal processing in binaural sound. In this paper, we used directional filter and harmonic filter among other existing methods to extract the main speaker's information in binaural sound. The main speaker's voice was extracted using directional filter, and other remaining speaker's information was removed using harmonic filter through main speaker's pitch detection. As a result, voice of the main speaker was enhanced.

  • Formula acoustic characteristics of the room with a double layer, are compared through simulation and actual measurement. The rear area of the under- balcony speakers will cause a delay difference between the main speaker. In the mid / bass parts do not generate sufficient pressure is lowered and comb-Filtering phenomenon occurs significantly. The lower right area of the under- balcony speakers and speaker distance is the sound pressure of the under- balcony speakers to around 2 ~ 3m bigger than the main speakers and the sound image matches the pulpit is broken. Also, under area is more than 5 ~ 6m from the balcony outside speakers and causes differ by more than 10dB lower than the under- balcony speakers depending on the local laws of Translator wins Well, the main speaker at mid / high frequency sounds do not enter the sound pressure variations will drop by a significant. Appropriate arrangement and the output of the speaker according to the position under the balcony, and output of the main speakers are requested to minimize this problem sound. The proper sound design direction for the under- balcony speakers must be presented in order to improve the lower balcony area more pleasant acoustic environment.

  • A convolution with HRTF DB and the original sound is generally used to make the method of sound image localization for virtual speaker realization. But it can decline localization by the confusion between up and down or front and back directions due to the non-individual HRTF depending on each listener. In this paper, we study a virtual speaker using a new HRTF, which is grouping the HRTF around the virtual speaker to improve localization between up and down or front and back directions. To effective HRTF grouping, we decide the location and number of HRTF using informal listening test. A performance test result of virtual speaker using the grouped HRTF shows that the proposed method improves the front-back and up-down sound localization characteristics much better than the conventional methods.

  • This paper performs Color Code Control Connected with Sound Source and Sensitivity of PA Speaker facility attachable LED patch. PA speaker delivers the technology to control the color code of LED patch along the present PA speakers for the facility-attached, LED the development of the patch. PA speakers facility attachable color code control technology of LED patch detects the sound from the PA speaker using a check, and if the analog signal source is detected (sound source)by converting the digital signal passes to the main controller can control the color and pattern of LED patches. In this paper, based on the PA speakers LED color control system, sound emotional linkage-type, and follow the lead of the PA speakers through the feelings can effectively channel LED linked to the source type and proceed to experiment with color and emotion control, whether or not they offer via the color control technology LED patch availability. PA speaker facility attachble color code control technology of LED patch connected with the source and future research directions in the field, and as the application is expected to be able to be widely utilized.

  • With development of high display quality of TV and Monitor, personal audio system is arising great interest. In this study, we applied a method to make a good bright zone around the user and dark zone to other region by maximizing the ratio of sound energy between the bright and dark zone. We have attempted to use a line speaker array system to localize the sound in our listening zone. It depends on the size of the zone and array parameters, for example, array size, speaker spacing, wave length of sound.
