  • A theoretical model has been studied to describe the sound radiation analysis for structure vibration noise of vehicle tires under the action of random moving line forces. When a tire is analyzed, it had been modeled as curved beams with distributed springs and dash pots that represent the radial, tangential stiffness and damping of tire, respectively. The reaction due to fluid loading on the vibratory response of the curved beam is taken into account. The curved beam is assumed to occupy the plane y=0 and to be axially infinite. The expression for sound power is integrated numerically and the results examined as a function of Mach number, wave-number ratio and stiffness factor. The experimental investigation for structure vibration noise of vehicle tire under the action of random moving line forces has been made. Based on the Spatial Transformation of Sound Field techniques, the sound power and sound radiation are measured. Results strongly suggest that operation condition in the tire material properties and design factors of the tire govern the sound power and sound radiation characteristics.

주관적 소리인식에 관한 설문조사 연구 (A Questionnaire Research on the Subjective Sound Recognition)

  • This research aims to derive the general emotion and preference of the 25 sounds by using the questionnaire method to provide the contents for the soundscape design fit to the characteristics of the given situation. The results can be summarized as follows : Nature sounds except dog barking and locust crying showed highest preference, and the traffic sounds, baby crying and footstep of upper floor showed the lowest. Hereby, the sound recognition can be different each other according to quality of tone and situation even they are the same sounds. The most impressive, wanted to be conserved and retrospective sound was the nature sound, and the most wanted to be removed sound was the machinery sound. And the social sound was shown as the most korean and fit to the art theme street.

An Improvement Method of Sound Quality of the High-speed Coastal Passenger Ship

  • The trends of recent passenger ships are becoming speedy and luxury style to enhance comfortableness in cabin. In order to meet these trend, ship designer has to improve the sound quality as well as to reduce the sound pressure level in cabins. In this paper, the trend of noise and sound quality of real high-speed coastal passenger ships are measured and analyzed, while running on their regular courses. The sound quality parameters such as loudness, roughness, fluctuation strength, and sharpness are evaluated by Zwicker loudness calculation. In addition, we try to find sensitive critical frequency band for the improving sound quality by using signal editing. Finally, the expected effective design methods are proposed to designer for the improving sound quality of passenger ships.

  • An interactive and iterative design method based on the constraint satisfaction problem (CSP) technique was developed to generate an ergonomically sound layout of a control panel. This control panel layout method attempts to incorporate a variety of relevant ergonomic principles and design constraints, and generate an optimal or, at least, a "satisfactory" solution through iterative interactions with the designer. The existing panel design and layout methods are mostly based on the optimization of single objective function formulated to reflect and trade off all ergonomic design objectives which are largely different in their nature. In fact, the problem of seeking an ergonomically sound panel design should be viewed as a multiple objective optimization problem. Furthermore, most of the design objectives should be understood as constraints rather than objectives to be optimized. Hence, a constraint satisfaction approach is proposed in this study as a framework for the panel designer to search through the design decision space effectively and make various design decisions iteratively. In order to apply the constraint satisfaction approach to the panel design procedure, the ergonomic principles such as frequency-of-use, importance, functional grouping, and sequence-of-use are formalized as CSP terms. With this formalization, a prototype system was implemented and applied to panel layout problems. The results clearly showed the effectiveness of the proposed approach since it permits designers to consider and iteratively evaluate various design constraints and ergonomic principles, and, therefore, aids the panel designer to come up with an ergonomically sound control panel layout.

전기자동차 실내 주행 사운드의 사용자 경험 디자인 : 맥락정보성과 정숙성을 중심으로 (User Experience Design of Interior Driving Sound for Electric Vehicle : Focusing on the Contextual Information and Quietness)

  • 최근 전기자동차와 관련된 콘텐츠 연구에서 사운드 디자인이 새로운 연구 주제로 부각되고 있다. 이 연구는 전기자동차 실내 주행음 디자인의 주요 가치들을 사용자 경험(User Experience) 측면에서 탐색하고 검증하는 것을 목적으로 진행되었다. 근거이론에 의한 탐색적 연구를 통해 맥락정보성과 정숙성을 독립변수로 도출하여 $2{\times}2$ 요인 설계로 유용성, 감성, 만족도에 대한 주효과 및 두 변인 간 상호작용 효과를 분석하였다. 실험연구를 통해 맥락정보성과 정숙성의 조합에 따라 전기 자동차의 사용자 경험에 미치는 영향이 달라진다는 점을 밝혔다. 연구 결과에 기반하여 실내 주행 사운드 가치의 개인별 선호를 고려한 사용자 니즈 최적화를 위한 후속 연구 방향을 제시하였다.

조선산업 폐합판의 강도적 성질과 흡음성능 (Mechanical Properties and Sound Absorption Capability of Shipbuilding Plywood Waste)

  • 적절한 용도개발이 필요한 조선산업 폐합판의 흡음성능과 기계적 성질을 파악하고자 메이플과 메란티 폐합판을 적층하고 재단하여 폐합판재활용보드를 만들어 전달함수법으로 흡음율을 측정하고 휨강도를 측정하였다. 메이플과 메란티에서 제작된 폐합판 적층 보드의 최대강도는 각각 534와 414 kgf/$cm^2$으로 나타나 상용합판과 비교하여 비슷한 강도성능을 나타내었다. 측정주파수범위에서 메란티 폐합판재활용보드의 흡음율은 0.25 전후의 수치를 나타내어 비교 대상인 섬유판과 신갈나무 시험편보다 높은 흡음율을 나타내었다. 폐합판 재활용보드의 측면을 슬라이스절삭하여 제작한 보드는 우수한 강도적 성능과 흡음성능으로 실내장식재로의 재활용이 기대되었다.

  • 현대 게임에서 음악의 입지는 점점 커지고 있으며, 게임 분야에서도 스토리텔링에 주도적인 역할을 하는 경우가 많다. 플랫폼 게임은 액션 게임의 한 종류에 속하는데, 그 속성상 캐릭터와 오브젝트의 상호작용과 이동이 일체화되어 있기 때문에 사운드 시스템과 밀접하게 결합되어 있다. 본 연구에서는 플랫폼 게임을 중심으로 그 스토리텔링에 부합한 반응성 사운드 시스템을 구축해보고 있다. 직접적인 개발 경험을 바탕으로, 게임 음악이 게임의 스토리텔링에 직접적으로 관여하도록 구성하는 연구를 해보았다. 또한 심리적, 음악적, 사회적 측면으로 서로 상응되는 점을 고찰함으로써 향후 게임 음악에서 개선되어야 할 측면들을 고찰하였다.
