A simple formula for insertion loss prediction of large acoustical enclosures using statistical energy analysis method

  • Insertion loss prediction of large acoustical enclosures using Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA) method is presented. The SEA model consists of three elements: sound field inside the enclosure, vibration energy of the enclosure panel, and sound field outside the enclosure. It is assumed that the space surrounding the enclosure is sufficiently large so that there is no energy flow from the outside to the wall panel or to air cavity inside the enclosure. The comparison of the predicted insertion loss to the measured data for typical large acoustical enclosures shows good agreements. It is found that if the critical frequency of the wall panel falls above the frequency region of interest, insertion loss is dominated by the sound transmission loss of the wall panel and averaged sound absorption coefficient inside the enclosure. However, if the critical frequency of the wall panel falls into the frequency region of interest, acoustic power from the sound radiation by the wall panel must be added to the acoustic power from transmission through the panel.

도심 교통음과 자연의 소리에 대한 음향심리 분석 (Analysis of Acoustic Psychology of City Traffic and Nature Sounds)

  • 현대 사회에서는 세계 인구의 대부분이 도시에 몰려 있기 때문에, 도심의 소리는 중요한 의미를 가진다. 그 중 교통음은 가장 대표적인 도심소리 중에 하나이다. 일반적으로 도심 교통음은 환경소음으로, 대표적인 자연의 소리인 숲, 폭포소리등은 사람에게 긍정적인 효과를 주는 소리로 분류한다. 본 연구에서는 자연의 소리가 포함하는 백색잡음에 다양한 형태의 FFT보정 필터를 적용시켜, 사람이 가장 선호하는 형태의 백색잡음 주파수 특성을 발견하고 자연 소리와의 상관관계를 확인하였다. 그리고 여러 형태의 도심 교통음과 숲소리의 파형, 스펙트럼 비교를 통한 분석을 진행하였다. 분석 결과 도심 교통음이 숲소리에 비해 특정 주파수대역과 시점에 집중된 소리 에너지 특징이 있음을 발견하였으며, 이러한 특징이 사람에게 미칠 수 있는 부정적인 요소들을 확인하였다. 마지막으로 전극법 뇌파 실험을 통하여, 도심 교통음과 자연의 숲, 폭포소리를 직접 피실험자들에게 들려주어, 알파파와 베타파의 에너지 분포를 측정하였다. 측정결과 도심 교통음은 자연의 소리보다 현저하게 많은 양의 베타파를 발생 시켰으며, 반대로 자연의 소리는 많은 양의 알파파를 발생 시켰다. 이러한 결과를 통해 도심 교통음이 사람에게 미치는 부정적인 영향과 자연 소리의 긍정적인 영향을 직접적으로 확인하였다.

  • This paper shows the feasibility of the suggestion that the angle distribution of incident sound to panels might be gaussian, instead of the conventional uniform distribution in the analysis of transmission loss of panels. To prove the suggestion, the problems with the diffuse sound field in a reverberation room are examined by case studies and the comparision of the prediction with the measurement of sound transmission loss of walls are performed. The results of the comparision show good agreement between the two values.

  • The goal of this paper is to select and analyze the sound for robot which can help and serve the big retail market, as the part of research for design foundation development of Human Robot Interface. The sounds which are related with activity, such as thanks, reject, agony,absurdity, gladness, approval, were selected among targeted sounds with 2 step SD method. The result for using Quantitative analysis model-3 with psychological similar degree of selected sound was argued with 'the brightness of sound' and 'violent of sound'.

  • The interior sound pressure level of the Korean high speed train is predicted using ray acoustic method. The motor car, motorized car and passenger cabin are investigated under the environment of passing open countryside and inside tunnel Calculated sound levels of KHST are compared with the those of KTX prototype which vehicle shows similar acoustic behavior with KHST for the purpose of assuring the calculated data. In order to reduce the calculated SPL in systematic way, contribution analysis of sound sources and sensitivity analysis of concerning wall's transmission loss on the SPL of the designated receiving points are carried out. Finally, practical design suggestions are proposed.

주성분 분석 기법을 이용한 심음 인식 (Heart Sound Recognition using Principal Components Analysis)

  • 최근에 디지털 선호처리와 전자부품의 발달로 심음 분식에 관한 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 그러나 심음 인식, 특히 심음 한주기 전체에 대한 인식연구는 거의 없다. 본 논문에서 심음 전체 한주기에 대한 새로운 인식 방법을 제안하였다. 먼저 주성분 분석을 이용하여 훈련 셋트로 데이터베이스를 구축한다. 데이터베이스는 새로운 심음입력을 인식하는데 이용된다. 심음은 정상심음, 수축전 심잡음, 수축초기 심잡음, 수축 말기 심잡음, 이완 초기 심잡음, 이완 말기 심잡음, 연속적 심잡음으로 분류된다. 실험결과 새로운 인식 방법은 심음의 특징을 인식하는데 효과적이었다. 최대 인식률은 NO의 경우 71%, PS와 ES의 경우 80%, LS의 경우 78%, ED의 경우 87%, LD의 경우 60%, CM의 경우 20% 이었다. 현재의 결과가 실제적으로 심음을 인식하기에는 충분하지 못하였지만 선음 전체 주기를 대상으로 한 연구라는데 의의가 있으며 더 효과적인 데이터베이스를 구축함으로써 인식률을 개선할 수 있다.

Comparative proteomic analysis of plant responses to sound waves in Arabidopsis

  • Environmental factors greatly influence the growth, development, and even genetic characteristics of plants. The mechanisms by which sound influences plant growth, however, remain obscure. Previously, our group reported that several genes were differentially regulated by specific frequenciesof sound treatmentusing a sound-treated subtractive library. In this study, we used a proteomic approach to investigate plant responses to sound waves in Arabidopsis. The plants were exposed to 250-Hz or 500-Hz sound waves, and total proteins were extracted from leaves 8 h and 24 h after treatment. Proteins extracted from leaves were subjected to 2-DE analysis. Thirty-eight spots were found to be differentially regulated in response to sound waves and were identified using MALDI-TOF MS and MALDI-TOF/TOF MS. The functions of the identified proteins were classified into photosynthesis, stress and defense, nitrogen metabolism, and carbohydrate metabolism. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report on the analysis of protein changes in response to sound waves in Arabidopsis leaves. These findings provide a better understanding of the molecular basis of responses to sound waves in Arabidopsis.

원전 복수계통 열교환기의 이음 원인 분석 (Abnormal Sound from Heat Exchanger of Condensate Water System at Nuclear Power Plant)

  • Abnormal sound was heard from a heat exchanger of condensate water system in a nuclear power plant, which was identified as impact sound of a loose part later. Nuclear power plants are normally equipped with loose part monitoring system for primary water system, but not for secondary water system. The abnormal sound was analyzed by using the impact signal-processing methodology based on the Hertz theory. The predicted results for impact location and size of the loose part showed good agreement with those of the actual loose part found during the overhaul period in the plant. So, this analysis methodology for the impact signal will be widely utilized for the primary and secondary side of the nuclear power plant.

음성신호 적응분할방법에 의한 특징분석 (Features Analysis of Speech Signal by Adaptive Dividing Method)

  • In this paper, an adaptive method of dividing a speech signal into an initial, a medial and a final sound of the form of utterance utilized by evaluating extreme limits of short term energy and autocorrelation functions. By applying this method into speech signal composed of a consonant, a vowel and a consonant, it was divided into an initial, a medial and a final sound and its feature analysis of sample by LPC were carried out. As a result of spectrum analysis in each period, it was observed that there existed spectrum features of a consonant and a vowel in the initial and medial periods respectively and features of both in a final sound. Also, when all kinds of words were adaptively divided into 3 periods by using the proposed method, it was found that the initial sounds of the same consonant and the medial sounds of the same vowels have the same spectrum characteristics respectively, but the final sound showed different spectrum characteristics even if it had the same consonant as the initial sound.

인자분석과 다효원척를 이용한 스피이커의 음질평가 (The assessment of sound quality of loudspeaker system by using factor analysis and muliti-dimensional scaling)

  • The objective data and subjective data correlated in order to rate sound quality of loudspeaker system and these data were analyzed by the Factor Analysis and Multi-Dimensioinal Scaling. The dimensions yielded Factor Analysis were interpreted as "Contrast", "Metallic", "Rich", "Present" and their relation to physical variables were explored by studying the positions of loudspeaker systems in the respective dimension. When the subjective similarity degree of loudspeaker systems was compared with the objective similarity degree of loudspeaker systems by Multi-Dimensional Scaling, the similarity degree of sound pressure response in the listening room closely coincided with the subjective similarity degree regardless of sound source. This result implies the necessity of measurements taken not only in an anechoic room but also in a listening room in order to rate sound quality of loudspeaker systems.
