A 6-year-old neutered male Poodle with a body weight of 2.7 kg was diagnosed with a congenital extrahepatic portoazygos shunt presented with progressive hepatic encephalopathy. Five days after surgical attenuation, the patient showed post-attenuation neurological signs (PANS) such as generalized tonic-clonic seizure, dull mentation, and tremor. PANS were successfully managed with antiepileptic drugs, but third-space fluid accumulation (ascites and peripheral edema) and phlebectasia were newly identified, suggesting marked portal hypertension (PHT). Telmisartan, spironolactone, carvedilol, and prednisolone were sequentially administered. Three months after surgery, both abnormal clinicopathological values such as anemia and hypoalbuminemia, and clinical signs completely resolved. Herein, we report successful management strategies for PANS and PHT in a dog following surgical attenuation of a congenital portoazygos shunt.

A 13-year-old spayed female Golden Retriever with clinical signs of weight loss and lethargy presented with two esophageal masses and one sessile polyp on computed tomography and esophagoscopy. Endoscopic snare resection was performed, and histopathological examination was requested. Based on histopathology and immunohistochemistry of multiple myeloma oncogene 1 staining, the patient was diagnosed with esophageal extramedullary plasmacytoma. The patient remained clinically well without any clinical signs during a follow-up period of 12 months. Herein, we report the successful diagnosis and management of esophageal extramedullary plasmacytoma in a dog using endoscopy.

For the preparation of calcium carbonate particles from aqueous $Ca(OH)_2$ slurry, carbonation reaction of aqueous $Ca(OH)_2$ slurry was carried out by batch method the $CO_2$ into reactor filled with aqueous slurry of $Ca(OH)_2$. The concentration of $Ca(OH)_2$ varies from 1.00 to 7.00wt%, reactor temperature at 20 and $40^{\circ}C$, and reactor pressure from atmospheric pressure to $6.0kg_f/cm^2$. Crystal structure of calcium carbonate was of calcite, the particle size were about $0.05{\sim}2.0{\mu}m$, and the particle shape was cubic and spindle. When reactor temperature was higher, particle size of calcium carbonate was bigger and particle shape was varied, but reaction rate was increased. When reactor pressure was higher, particle size of calcium carbonate was smaller, particle shape was cubic, and reaction rate was increased.

Generally $PbTiO_3$ is manufactured in a form of thin films which is useful for the application of infrared sensors and non-volatile memory devices. Moreover $PbTiO_3$ has a characteristic of adsorption for organic acid as well as electronic property. Organic acid adsorption properties of $PbTiO_3$ powder prepared by sol-gel method was compared with the powder purchased from Aldrich Co. Crystallization and particle size of $PbTiO_3$ are influenced by process variables, such as dilution of sol solution, catalysis, calcination temperature, calcination time, etc. As the size of $PbTiO_3$ power decreased until several nanometers, adsorption of acetic acid and formic acid was increased 1.5-fold and 1.2-fold respectively.

A 5-year-old male Shih-Tzu dog was referred with the primary complaint of scrotal swelling after surgery of urethrotomy 1 week ago. A diagnosis of the patient was made based on history taking, physical examination, laboratory examination, radiography, and ultrasonography. In the blood analysis, increase of leukocyte was seen. And there were enlarged and heterogeneous parenchyma of right testis in ultrasonic evaluation. The case was diagnosed as periorchiepididymitis and followed by treatment with bilateral orchiectomy and postoperative antibacterial agents. And conditions of patient were good.

An 11-year-old neutered male domestic short-haired cat presented with neurological symptoms that developed over a three-month period. These included mental dullness, vocalization, ataxia, and visual impairment. The patient was diagnosed with a primary intracranial tumor at a local animal hospital. After the first diagnosis, the cat was administered hydroxyurea, prednisolone, omeprazole, and gabapentin for 3 months. After the initiation of medical treatment, the patient's clinical symptoms did not improve and the size of the tumor was static on the second magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The dosage of hydroxyurea and prednisolone was increased for two weeks. The patient's clinical signs improved, and subsequently, a craniotomy was performed. The clinical signs completely resolved six days after surgery. Adjuvant chemotherapy with hydroxyurea was continuously administered after the craniotomy. The patient demonstrated a good clinical status during the nine-month follow-up period. Neoadjuvant chemotherapy has not yet been reported for meningiomas in cats. Further clinical trials with longer follow-up periods and larger patient cohorts will be required to confirm the effectiveness of neoadjuvant chemotherapy with hydroxyurea in feline meningioma.
