The computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) system was introduced to shorten the production time of all-ceramic restorations and the number of patient visits. Among these types of ceramic for dental CAD/CAM, they have been processed into inlay, onlay, and crown shapes using leucite-reinforced glass-ceramics to improve strength. The purpose of this study was to observe the mechanical properties and microstructure of leucite-reinforced glass-ceramics for dental CAD/CAM. Two types of leucite-reinforced glass-ceramic blocks (IPS Empress CAD, Rosetta BM) were prepared with diameter of 13 mm and thickness of 1 mm. Biaxial flexural testing was conducted using a piston-on-three-ball method at a crosshead speed of 0.5 mm/min. Weibull statistics were used for the analysis of biaxial flexural strength. Fracture toughness was obtained using an indentation fracture method. Specimens were observed by field emission scanning electron microscopy to examine the microstructure of the leucite crystalline phase after acid etching with 0.5% hydrofluoric acid aqueous solution for 1 minute. The results of strength testing showed that IPS Empress CAD had a mean value of $158.1{\pm}8.6MPa$ and Rosetta BM of $172.3{\pm}8.3MPa$. The fracture toughness results showed that IPS Empress CAD had a mean value of $1.28{\pm}0.19MPa{\cdot}m^{1/2}$ and Rosetta BM of $1.38{\pm}0.12MPa{\cdot}m^{1/2}$. The Rosetta BM sample exhibited higher strength and fracture toughness. Moreover, the crystalline phase size and ratio were increased in the Rosetta BM sample. The above results are expected to elucidate the basic mechanical properties and crystal structure characteristics of IPS Empress CAD and Rosetta BM. Additionally, they will help develop leucite-reinforced glass-ceramic materials for CAD/CAM.

PURPOSE. The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of a diode laser and traditional irrigants on the bond strength of self-adhesive cement. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Fifty-five incisors extracted due to periodontal problems were used. All teeth were instrumented using a set of rotary root canal instruments. The post spaces were enlarged for a No.14 (diameter, 1.4 mm) Snowlight (Abrasive technology, OH, USA) glass fiber reinforced composite post with matching drill. The teeth were randomly divided into 5 experimental groups of 11 teeth each. The post spaces were treated with the followings: Group 1: 5 mL 0.9% physiological saline; Group 2: 5 mL 5.25% sodium hypochlorite; Group 3: 5 mL 17% ethylene diamine tetra acetic acid (EDTA), Group 4: 37% orthophosphoric acid and Group 5: Photodynamic diode laser irradiation for 1 minute after application of light-active dye solution. Snowlight posts were luted with self-adhesive resin cement. Each root was sectioned perpendicular to its long axis to create 1 mm thick specimens. The push-out bond strength test method was used to measure bond strength. One tooth from each group was processed for scanning electron microscopic analysis. RESULTS. Bond strength values were as follow: Group 1 = 4.15 MPa; Group 2 = 3.00 MPa; Group 3 = 4.45 MPa; Group 4 = 6.96 MPa; and Group 5 = 8.93 MPa. These values were analysed using one-way ANOVA and Tukey honestly significant difference test (P<.05). Significantly higher bond strength values were obtained with the diode laser and orthophosphoric acid (P<.05). There were no differences found between the other groups (P> .05). CONCLUSION. Orthophosphoric acid and EDTA were more effective methods for removing the smear layer than the diode laser. However, the diode laser and orthophosphoric acid were more effective at the cement dentin interface than the EDTA, Therefore, modifying the smear layer may be more effective when a self-adhesive system is used.
With Ni/Au and Pd/Au metal schemes and low temperature processing, we formed low resistance stable Ohmic contacts to p-type GaN. Our investigation was preceded by conventional cleaning, followed by treatment in boiling $HNO_3$:HCl (1:3). Metallization was by thermally evaporating 30 nm Ni/15 nm Au or 25 nm Pd/15 nm Au. After heat treatment in $O_2$ + $N_2$ at various temperatures, the contacts were subsequently cooled in liquid nitrogen. Cryogenic cooling following heat treatment at $600^{\circ}C$ decreased the specific contact resistance from $9.84{\times}10^{-4}$${\Omega}cm^2$ to $2.65{\times}10^{-4}$${\Omega}cm^2$ for the Ni/Au contacts, while this increased it from $1.80{\times}10^{-4}$${\Omega}cm^2$ to $3.34{\times}10^{-4}$${\Omega}cm^2$ for the Pd/Au contacts. The Ni/Au contacts showed slightly higher specific contact resistance than the Pd/Au contacts, although they were more stable than the Pd contacts. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy depth profiling showed the Ni contacts to be NiO followed by Au at the interface for the Ni/Au contacts, whereas the Pd/Au contacts exhibited a Pd:Au solid solution. The contacts quenched in liquid nitrogen following sintering were much more uniform under atomic force microscopy examination and gave a 3 times lower contact resistance with the Ni/Au design. Current-voltage-temperature analysis revealed that conduction was predominantly by thermionic field emission.

Guided waves have shown a great potential for structural health monitoring (SHM) applications. In contrast to traditional non-destructive testing (NDT) methodologies, a key element of SHM approaches is the high process of automation. The monitoring system should decide autonomously whether the host structure is intact or not. A basic requirement for the realization of such a system is that the sensors are permanently installed on the host structure. Thus, baseline measurements become available that can be used for diagnostic purposes, i.e., damage detection, localization, etc. This paper contributes to guided wave-based inspection in anisotropic materials for SHM purposes. Therefore, computational strategies are described for both, the solution of the complex equations for wave propagation analysis in composite materials based on exact elasticity theory and the popular global matrix method, as well as the underlying equations of two active damage localization algorithms for anisotropic structures. The result of the global matrix method is an angular and frequency dependent wave velocity characteristic that is used subsequently in the localization procedures. Numerical simulations and experimental investigations through time-delay measurements are carried out in order to validate the proposed theoretical model. An exemplary case study including the calculation of dispersion curves and damage localization is conducted on an exemplary unidirectional composite structure where the ultrasonic signals processed in the localization step are simulated with the spectral element method. The proposed study demonstrates the capabilities of the proposed algorithms for accurate damage localization in anisotropic structures.

In the distribution of digital image, the median filtering is used for a forgery. This paper proposed the algorithm of a image forensics detection for the classification of median filtering. For the solution of this grave problem, the feature vector is composed of 42-Dim. The detected quantity 32, 64 and 128 of forgery image edges, respectively, which are processed by the Hough transform, then it extracted from the start-end point coordinates of the Hough Lines. Also, the Hough Peaks of the Angle-Distance plane are extracted. Subsequently, both of the feature vectors are composed of the proposed scheme. The defined 42-Dim. feature vector is trained in SVM (Support Vector Machine) classifier for the MF classification of the forged images. The experimental results of the proposed MF detection algorithm is compared between the 10-Dim. MFR and the 686-Dim. SPAM. It confirmed that the MF forensic classification ratio of the evaluated performance is 99% above with the whole test image types: the unaltered, the average filtering ($3{\times}3$), the JPEG (QF=90 and 70)) compression, the Gaussian filtered ($3{\times}3$ and $5{\times}5$) images, respectively.
Generally, a point source has been routinely used in the electrical resistivity measurements because of easy installation. If steel-cased wells are used as long electrodes, we can expect the better depth of investigation. However, the resistivity data with long electrodes can not be processed with a conventional inversion algorithm because a long electrode produces the different primary potential distribution compared with the point source. In this study, we proposed a new technique to process the electrical resistivity data with long electrodes by replacing the long electrode with a sequence of point electrodes. Comparing the potentials obtained from the technique with the analytic/numerical solution, we ensure that the proposed technique can be used for the numerical resistivity modeling based on the finite difference or finite element method.
Paralytic Shellfish Poison (PSP) is mainly produced by marine dinoflagellates such as Protogonyaulax sp. and Pyrodinium sp.. The PSP was known to be accumulated in digestive gland of shellfish as result of feeding toxic dinoflagellates. PSP illness when occurs when one eats PSP intoxicated shellfish. Therefore PSP is becoming as serious problem in food hygiene and shellfish cultivation industry. The purpose of this study was to develop detoxification method for utilization of PSP intoxicated sea mussel and prevent from PSP illness. The PSP was extracted with 0.1 N HCl solution from the submitted sea mussel, then the toxicity was measured by mouse assay according to Official Methods of Analysis of the Association of Official Analytical Chemists. No detoxification effect was observed by adding extracted juice of garlic and ginger. When the sea mussel homogenate was heated at various temperatures, the PSP toxicity was not changed significantly at below $70^{\circ}C$ for 60 minutes but it was decreased as the heating temperature was increased. For example, when the sea mussel homogenate was heated at 100, $121^{\circ}C$ for 10 minutes, the toxicity was decreased about 67 and 90%, respectively. When the sea mussel containing 645 $\mu$g PSP per 100g of edible meat was processed according to general shellfish canning procedure, the toxicity was decreased as the level of PSP undetected by mouse assay.

For the past a few years, we have intensively researched the printable inorganic conductors and ZnO-based amorphous oxide semiconductors (AOSs) for thin-film transistors. For printable conductor materials, we have focused on the aqueous Ag and Cu ink which possess a variety of advantages, comparing with the conventional metal inks based on organic solvent system. The aqueous Ag ink was designed to achieve the long-term dispersion stability using a specific polymer which can act as a dispersant and capping agent, and the aqueous Cu ink was carefully formulated to endow the oxidation stability in air and even aqueous solvent system. The both inks were successfully printed onto either polymer or glass substrate, exhibiting the superior conductivity comparable to that of bulk one. For printable ZnO-based AOSs, we have researched the noble way to resolve the critical problem, a high processing-temperature above $400^{\circ}C$, and recently discovered that Ga doping in ZnO-based AOSs promotes the formation of oxide lattice structures with oxygen vacancies at low annealing-temperatures, which is essential for acceptable thin-film transistor performance. The mobility dependence on annealing temperature and AOS composition was analyzed, and the chemical role of Ga are clarified, as are requirements for solution-processed, low-temperature annealed AOSs.
The aim of this study is to investigate the fabrication processes on the microstructual changes and mechanical properties of large 7175 aluminum die forgings. The billets range from 370 to 720 mm in diameter were homogenized and hot forged after direct chill casting. The strength and elongation of the homogenized cast billets were revealed nearly same level independent of the billet diameter. However, these properties of ø370 mm cast billet were superior to those of $\Pie720$ mm billet under$ T_{6}$ / condition. The tensile strength of die forged specimens under $T_{6}$ condition increased up to 20% than that of solution treatment, however, the elongation was reduced to 50%. The fracture toughness of die forged specimens under $T_{6}$ condition was 35.6∼39.0 MPa$.$$m^{1}$2 irrespective of the billet size and free forging processes, but this property increased up to 10% by$V_{74}$ treatment. The fracture toughness of die forged specimen manufactured with ø370 mm cast billet showed nearly same level of ø720 mm billet which was processed using MF or Cog free forging followed by die forging.

Recently, the Internet-based communication method has been adopted as an open networking solution in the field of remote control and data acquisition. In the current Internet, most networking applications are developed according to the client-server approach. In this paper, we propose an innovative Device Configuration Protocol (DCP) that exchanges the traditional role between client and server to provide a uniform device interface over the Internet for various field devices. The proposed protocol is implemented as an application-level protocol running on top of the standard TCP/IP protocols. Also, the DCP protocol is extended with real-time processing to work with the FlowLabel of IPv6 for QoS (Quality of Service) support. The simulation results show that the real-time packets can be processed prior to the given deadline regardless of throughput, as compared to the normal packets.
