  • Due to a development of a modem technology as Power Line Communication(PLC) over 200 Mbps, the high-speed multi-media data trasmission could be currently possible. The strength of the PLC has no more additional wiring work. PLC has also possible to high quality data transmission with currently electrical cable. It has a various strong point campare with existing wire and wireless communication technologies. In This paper we develop a high quality media transmitter-receiver based on merging the HomePlug AV, which is 200 Mbps class PLC technology and HDMI Interface technology. The video function was used for the VEDEO TEST GENERATOR in order to a property valuation. Smart Live 6 software were used for the assessment of audio property. As the result of measurement of the HD class images by capturing from the receiver of the PLC, the quality of images couldn't be confirm any deterioration, which has compared with original reflections. In case of audio part as the result of confirmation of the Phase, Magnitude, it has been confirmed that over 90% of nomal transmition and receiving of acoustic signal. It can be possible to have HD class Media service through the PLC.

  • We present a novel schematic using a 3-dB coupler to transmit radiofrequency (RF) power to two receivers selectively. Whereas previous multiple receiver supporting schemes used hardware-switched methods, our scheme uses a soft power-allocating method, which has the advantage of variable power allocation in real time to each receiver. Using our scheme, we can split the charging area and focus the RF power on the targeted areas. We present our soft power-allocating method in three main points. First, we propose a new power distribution hardware structure using a FPGA (field-programmable gate array) and a 3-dB coupler. It can reconfigure the transmitting power to two receivers selectively using accurate FPGA-controlled signals with the aid of software. Second, we propose a power control method in our platform. We can variably control the total power of transmitter using the DC bias of the drain input of the amplifier. Third, we provide the possibility of expansion in multiple systems by extending these two wireless power transfer systems. We believe that this method is a new approach to controlling power amplifier output softly to support multiple receivers.

  • As the low power GPS signal is susceptible to interference, interference can seriously degrade the performance of GPS receiver. This paper designs a ANIEF(Adaptive Narrowband Interference Excision in Frequency domain) filter that removes narrow band interferences with low signal loss. This filter uses the pre-correlation technique and attempts to filter out the interference in the frequency domain. The interference excision performance of the designed filter is evaluated for various interferences using the ANIEF filter inserted GPS software receiver and the interference generator. Interferences considered in this paper are single-tone CWI(Continuous Wave Interference), multi-tones CWI, pulsed CWI, and swept CWI. The narrowband interference excision filter in frequency domain is very effective against various interferences and the strong interference with a simple structure. However, the signal power loss is unavoidable while transforming. In this paper, the hamming window and overlap technique are adopted to reduce the signal power loss. Finally, the interference excision performance and the reduced signal power loss of the ANIEF filter are shown.

  • This paper presents the design method of a Colpitts type oscillator with coplanar waveguide(CPW) structures in the range of Ka-band frequency for transmitter and receiver modules. Series short stubs of CPW patterns provide inductances and capacitances in the range of Ka-band which can be expressed as a CLC-$\pi$ equivalent circuit. The experimentation has employed ro4003 substrates as a CPW substrate which has a dielectric constant of 3.38 and a signal and ground space of 100um. A method of momentum simulation for the CPW patterns has performed with an ADS software tool of Hewlett-Packard Corp. Inductance and capacitance circuits of a Colpitts oscillator was interconnected to a MESFET with CPW bend structures of including the input and output impedance matching circuits of the active transistor. Circuit parameters for impedance matching were determined through the network conversion to the equivalent length of CPW transmission lines by using T-network 1 $\pi$-network conversion circuit. A Colpitts oscillator was fabricated on the substrate of a area of 8.5mm x 17.4mm with a MESFET of Fujitsu FMM5704X and CPW series short stubs. The design suggested the possibility of realizing oscillators on a planar surface for the wireless system of tansmitter and receiver modules in the frequency range of 30GHz

  • In cognitive radio (CR), secondary users (SUs) are able to sense the absence of primary users (PUs) in the spectrum. Then, SUs use this information to opportunistically access the licensed spectrum in the PUs' absence. In this paper, we present an implementation of real-time video transmission with spectrum-sensing between two points using GNU Radio and a National Instruments 2900 Universal Software Radio Peripheral (USRP). In our project, spectrum-sensing is implemented at both transmitter and receiver. The transmitter senses the channel, and if the channel is free, a video signal (which could be a real-time signal from a video file) will be modulated and processed by GNU Radio and transmitted using a USRP. A USRP receiver also senses the channel, but in contrast, if the channel is busy, the signal is demodulated to reproduce the transmitted video signal. This project brings in several challenges, like spectrum-sensing in the devices' environment, and packets getting lost or corrupted over the air.

  • This paper presents a 13.56 MHz RFID reader that can be used as a door-lock system for smart home security. The RFID reader consists of a transmitter, a receiver, and a data processing block. To verify the operation of the developed RFID reader, we present both a PSPICE simulation for transmitter/receiver and a digital simulation for data processing block. In particular, a CRC block for error detection of received data and a Manchester decoding block for position detection of collided data are designed using VHDL. In addition, we applied a binary search algorithm for multi-tag anti-collision. The anti-collision procedure is carried out by PIC microcontroller on software. The experimental results show that the developed reader can provide the right multi-tag recognition.

  • This paper presents a high gain and high harmonic rejection low-noise amplifier (LNA) for software-defined radio receiver. This LNA exploits the high quality factor (Q) series resonance technique. High Q series resonance can amplify the in-band signal voltage and attenuate the out-band signals. This is achieved by a source impedance transformation. This technique does not consume power and can easily support multiband operation. The chip is fabricated in a $0.13-{\mu}m$ CMOS. It supports four bands (640, 710, 830, and 1,070MHz). The measured forward gain ($S_{21}$) is between 12.1 and 17.4 dB and the noise figure is between 2.7 and 3.3 dB. The IIP3 measures between -5.7 and -10.8 dBm, and the third harmonic rejection ratios are more than 30 dB. The LNA consumes 9.6 mW from a 1.2-V supply.

  • To increase the production efficiency in dairy industry, proper artificial insemination is the most important operation. For the successful artificial insemination, accurate estrus detection is required. The Korean dairy farmers usually depended on visual observation for estrus detection of cows. Mounting behaviour is one of major inidications observed when cows are at an estrus. A mounting activity detection system for cows using radiotelemetry was developed. This system included a transmitter with a pressure switch, a receiver, a serial communication interface, a personal computer and a computer software. All components and a whole system were tested both in a laboratory and in a farm. The results of this study are as follows: 1. All components including transmitter, receiver and serial interface were operated according to the design specification. 2. A whole system tested with simulated mounting activity of 400 times showed 100% of success rate. 3. In the farm test for 4 days with three cows expecting estrus, one cows experiencing mounting activities showed correct response with this system. However two cows did not show mounting activities because of weak estrus and cold weather during the testing period.

  • This paper describes on a software simulator that can be used for an anti-ARM system. The proposed simulator is a valuable tool for investigating the optimum deployment of decoy antennas which are widely using for anti-ARM and calculating the electromagnetic field at the ARM receiver. To verify the effect of decoy antennas, we analyze the field intensity and phase at the receiver. We conduct an analysis of ARM attack in case of using multiple decoy antennas and the proposed simulator can be used to decide the optimum positions of the decoys.
