  • This paper presents a design technique of steel structures subjected to static and dynamic loadings using practical nonlinear inelastic analysis software. The beam-column approach using the stability functions and the plastic hinge concept enables the software to suitably predict second-order effects and inelastic behavior of beam-columns. For dynamic analysis. the incremental from of the equation of motion is solved by the use of a step-by-step numerical integration procedure in which the assumption of constant acceleration over a small time step is employed. The accuracy of the analysis program is validated using the results of ABAQUS program and experimental tests. A user-friendly graphic interface of the software is developed to facilitate the modeling process and result interpretation of the problem. A design example of large span bridge is presented to detail the direct design process using the practical advanced analysis software.

  • Recently, the most mobile application software developers are being faced by short developing time (fast time-to-market), various requirements and requirement changes. In order to overcome the environment, developer should support user friendly GUI and assure the quality from the early developing process using GUI test method. This paper proposes a test method and tool for mobile software GUI, which reduces test time and supports comfortable test environment by user oriented UI design. We implemented a tool based on test scenarios based image flow for high testing accuracy and test case reusability. And the results show the characteristics of the method compared to the existing tools.

  • As the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution enters, the importance of software safety is increasing, but related systematic educational curriculum and trained professional engineers are insufficient. The purpose of this research is to propose the high priority elements for the software safety education program through needs analysis. For this purpose, 74 candidate elements of software safety education program were derived through contents analysis of literature and nominal group technique (NGT) process with five software safety professionals from various industries in South Korea. Targeting potential education participants including industrial workers and students, an on-line survey was conducted to measure the current and required level of each element. Using descriptive statistics, t-test, Borich needs assessment and Locus for focus model, 16 high priority elements were derived for software safety education program. Based on the results, suggestions were made to develop a more effective education program for software safety education.

  • Accurate predictions of software release times, and estimation of the reliability and availability of a software product require quantification of a critical element of the software testing process : test coverage. This model called Enhanced non-homogeneous poission process(ENHPP). In this paper, exponential coverage and S-shaped model was reviewed, proposes the Kappa coverage model, which maked out efficiency application for software reliability. Algorithm to estimate the parameters used to maximum likelihood estimator and bisection method, model selection based on SSE statistics and Kolmogorov distance, for the sake of efficient model, was employed. From the analysis of mission time, the result of this comparative study shows the excellent performance of Burr coverage model rather than exponential coverage and S-shaped model using NTDS data. This analysis of failure data compared with the Kappa coverage model and the existing model(using arithmetic and Laplace trend tests, bias tests) is presented.

  • The object of quality test for weapons system embedded software is support about implement of high quality system which coincided with requirements of weapons system embedded. There are some examples which developed quality evaluation methodology, evaluation method for general embedded software. But the concrete system for weapons system embedded software was not constructed yet. Recently, various weapons system embedded software were developed and used but they require the effort for the quality. In this paper, we developed the evaluation modules and the quality test tables which can evaluate based on ISO/IEC 12119 for weapons system embedded software evaluation.

  • Nowadays, lots of software that have similar functions is being produced. Hence it is getting more important to select the best and suitable software for each individual or company. Moreover, there are few trustworthy materials regarding to the objective procedure and criteria for the best evaluation of the software quality. To overcome these problems, benchmarking has been carried out. However, benchmarking is also confronting the limit of quality evaluation verification due to the difficult of the objectification of the major test items. To solve these problems, some others try to evaluate the quality of software using objective criteria of evaluation based on ISO/IEC standards. Nevertheless, this method using these defined evaluation items and criteria may result in not very reliable outcome. Therefore, this paper offers the evaluation items reflected in the characteristics of each software in order to prove the validity of the proposed method. Moreover, the objective and quantitative criterion which analyzes and reflects the organization characteristics using AHP methodology is applied to the experiment and performance evaluation. Hence we expect that the proposed method provides the needs of the re-establishment of software quality evaluation criteria and the improvement of process in terms of management.

  • Software reliability growth model is one of the evaluation methods, software quality which quantitatively calculates the software reliability based on the number of errors detected. For correct and precise evaluation of reliability of certain software, the reliability model, which is considered to fit dose to real data should be selected as well. In this paper, the optimal model for specific test data was selected one of among five software reliability growth models based on NHPP(Non Homogeneous Poission Process), and in result reliability estimating scales(total expected number of errors, error detection rate, expected number of errors remaining in the software, reliability etc) could obtained. According to reliability estimating scales obtained, Software development and predicting optimal release point and finally in conducting systematic project management.

  • More than 50% of defects and errors in the software development projects are related to the requirements[14]. But the development methodologies can not provide enough supports to the requirements management and changes. In the real world, the requirements keep changing as the requirements at the early development phase are usually incomplete, the developer′s understanding of the problem will be constantly changed during the software process, and new requirements may emerge with the organizational and environmental changes. In this paper, a requirements management process that can be integrated into the development methodologies is proposed to extend the requirements management over the whole development life-cycle and to support the requirements changes at the design/implementation/test phases. To evaluate the proposed process, it was compared to the existing requirements managements processes and models, and examined through a integration test with a widely used development methodology "MaRMI" to show the expected improvements at each development phase.

  • The concept of an agent has become important in computer science and has been applied to the number of application domains such electronic commerce and information retrieval. But, no one has proposed yet in software test. The test agent system applied the concept of an agent to software test is new test tool. It consists of the User Interface Agent. the Test Case Selection & Testing Agent and the Regression Test Agent. Each of these agents, with their intelligent rules, carry out the tests autonomously by empolying the object-oriented test processes. This system has 2 advantages. Firstly since the tests are carried our autonomously, it minimizes tester interference and secondly, since redundant-free and consistent effective test cases are intellectually selected, the testing time is reduced while the fault detection effectiveness improves. In this paper, by actually showing the testing process being carried out autonomously by the 3 agents that form the TAS, we show that the TAS minimizes tester interference. By also carrying out the 4 different types of experiments on the RE-Rule, CTS-Rule, overall TAS experiment, and the fault-detection effectiveness experiment on the RE-Rule, we show the cut-down on the testing time and improvement in the fault detection effectivity.
