Factors for Better Adoption of Information Security on Custom-Made Software at SMEs: A Systematic Review and Framework

  • Investigations on information security factors re- main elusive at small and medium enterprises (SMEs), es- specially for custom-made software solutions. This article aims to investigate, classify, adopt factors from recent literature addressing information security resources. SMEs al- ready have information security in place, but they are not easy to adopt through the negotiation processes between the in-house software development companies and custom-made software clients at SMEs. This article proposes a strategic framework for implementing the process of adoption of the information security factors at SMEs after conducting a systematic snapshot approach for investigating and classifying the resources. The systematic snapshot was conducted using a search strategy with inclusion and exclusion criteria to retain 128 final reviewed papers from a large number of papers within the period of 2001-2022. These papers were analyzed based on a classification schema including management, organizational, development, and environmental categories in software development lifecycle (SDLC) phases in order to define new security factors. The reviewed articles addressed research gaps, trends, and common covered evidence-based decisions based on the findings of the systematic mapping. Hence, this paper boosts the broader cooperation between in-house software development companies and their clients to elicit, customize, and adopt the factors based on clients' demands.

  • 본 연구는 2013년도부터 TIPA에서 진행해온 클라우드 기반 중소기업 정보화 프로젝트의 현황과 향후 방향에 대한 사용자 및 개발자 설문 분석을 실시하였다. 이 프로젝트는 7개 산업 협동조합들을 시범 지원하면서 개시되었기 때문에, 과거의 사용 패턴과 향후 전략 및 구축 계획에 대한 사용자 기대를 파악할 필요가 있다. 설문 분석 결과, 사용자 만족도와 기대는 기본 솔루션과 산업별 특수 비즈니스 프로세스가 반영된 산업 특화 솔루션간에 차이가 있음을 발견할 수 있었다. 결론으로서, 민간 클라우드 SW 시장에 대한 정부의 관여에 대한 시장의 우려와 중소기업의 정보화 진흥을 위한 정부의 지원 간의 조화 방법에 대한 제안을 제시하고자 한다.

A Study focused on how Korean IT Service Firms were financially impacted since the restrictions on participation of large firms

  • The government has strengthened the system of restricting participation of large corporations to limit participation in national information system construction projects and to increase participation of SME software companies. This study analyzes the financial performances of small and medium sized IT firms in Korea three years prior and 3 years after the restrictions on participation of large firm. A sample of 121 small and medium-sized IT services firms were classified into 3 groups and statistical techniques (T-test and one-way ANOVA) were used for the purpose of the analysis. In the three years after the restriction of participation of large corporations, the total assets and sales of the medium and small IT service firms were positive, but the operating profit and net profit were negative. There were many worries about the introduction of the restriction on the participation of large corporations, but many were stabilized. However, the negative impact was more pronounced for SMEs. Therefore, the reduction effect of SME IT service companies is different from the first legislative purpose of enforcing the restriction system of large enterprises, so we propose to revise the policy.

  • This paper was concerned about design and implementation of supply chain management for auto-part company by adopting a UML(Unified Modeling Language). The part of SCM and e-business have interested by larger company, researcher and academic professor. There has been known about a little implementing SCM and it's initiatives for SME(small-medium sized enterprise). We, in this paper, dealt with design and implementing the SCM on supply chain auto part SMEs. The UML is a standard language for specifying, visualizing, constructing, and documenting the artifacts of software systems. It simplifies the complex process of software design, making a blueprint for the SCM implementation. In this paper, we also adopt some methods for the systematic system analysis, design, and implementation by applying UML to a SCM system.

  • Information competitiveness accounts for substantial parts of business competitiveness necessary for business management in the knowledge-information society in the 21st century. To improve quality. productivity and competitiveness through information in the fields of SMEs particularly having difficulties under rapidly changing business environment. the government has operated "SME Information Support Project" for the past 8 years. The methodology for developing the standard for this project known as EISDM (Enterprise Information System Development Methodology) provides communication between IT businesses and SMEs participating in this project. and standardized output document formats and how to make out such documents. Infortunately. the number of personnel partaking in the development project for SMEs is no more than 2~4 per site on average. Further. they are required to complete demand analyses. development. testing and operation in about 6 months. which is a very short period. Moreover, there is too much demand for documentation, which is likely to end up being formal work process just for supervision and inspection. That is, the documentation could be for noting but documents. which will prove useless outputs after the project finishes. Therefore, this study proposes an improvement approach as an information system development methodology taking into account SMEs' characteristics and environment so as to relieve developers from such excessive burden of documentation, to save time and resources through efficient management of software development as the original purpose of the methodology, and to produce required quality software.

중소제조기업 스마트공장시스템 도입이 관리회계에 미치는 영향 (The Impact of SMEs' Smart Factory Systems Implementation on Management Accounting)

  • 본 연구는 스마트공장시스템이 관리회계에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 분석함에 주된 목적이 있다. 국내 108개 중소제조기업으로부터 수집한 데이터를 분석하여 스마트공장시스템의 실행이 관리회계 업무에 중대한 변화를 야기한다는 실증을 도출하고자 하였다. 회귀모형분석을 통하여 스마트공장 특성이 관리회계 범위 중 내부보고, 예산편성, 최신회계기법의 적용, 조직원의 관리회계 직무 등 4개의 측면에서에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 결과를 도출하였다. 세부적으로 예산편성의 세분화에 있어서 명세화된 예산편성 소프트웨어의 실행 품질은 유의적 영향을 미치지만 경영환경과 회계기법의 적용간에 부의 상관관계가 발견되었다. 본 연구를 통하여 중소제조기업은 관리회계 실무적 효과를 증진시킬 수 있도록 원가행태의 변동성추적을 통한 생산량, 제품배합결정 등과 같은 경영분석 모듈의 실행에 초점을 두어야 한다는 점을 제안한다.

  • Internet of Thing(IoT), which is recently talked about with the development of information and communication technology, provides big data to all nodes such as companies and homes, means of transportation etc. by connecting all things with all people through the integrated global network and connecting all actual aspects of economic and social life with Internet of Thing through sensor and software. Defining Internet of Thing, it plays the role of a connector of providing various information required for the decision-making of companies in the cloud computing environment for the Insight usage by collecting and storing Raw Data of the production site through the sensor network and extracting big data in which data is accumulated and Insight through this. In addition, as the industry showing the largest linkage with other root industries among root industries, the mold industry is the core technology for controlling the quality and performance of the final product and realizing the commercialization of new industry such as new growth power industry etc. Recently, awareness on the mold industry is changing from the structure of being labor-intensive, relying on the experience of production workers and repeating modification without the concept of cost to technology-intensive, digitization, high intellectualization due to technology combination according to IT convergence. This study, therefore, is to provide a golden opportunity to increase the direct and indirect expected effects in poor management activities of small businesses by actually implementing and managing the entire process of mold life cycle to information system from mold planning to mass production and preservation by building SME(small and medium-sized enterprises)-type mold life cycle management information system in the cloud computing environment and applying it to the production site.

  • Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are increasingly using ERP systems to connect and manage all their functions, whether internally between the different departments, or externally with customers in electronic commerce. However, the selection of the right ERP system is usually an issue, due to the complexities of identifying the criteria, weighting them, and selecting the best system and provider. Because cost is usually important for SMEs, ERP systems based on Cloud Software as a Service (SaaS) has been adopted by many SMEs. However, SMEs face an issue of selecting the right system. Therefore, this paper proposes a fuzziness ranking engine system in order to match the SMEs requirements with the most suitable service provider. The extensive experimental result shows that our approach has better result compared with traditional approaches.

  • 특정한 사건의 발생을 감지하기 위해서 인터넷 상의 문서들을 분석하는 소프트웨어는 매우 유용하다. 특히, 오늘 날과 같이 테러의 위협을 감지하는 것이 결정적으로 중요한 시점에서 이러한 시스템의 필요성은 더욱 크다고 할 수 있다. 이러한 소프트웨어의 중요한 응용분야 가운데 하나는, 자동으로 국가 기반의 위기를 탐지해 주는 시스템일 것이다. 본 논문에서는 위기 경보 시스템을 위한 에이전트 기반의 일반적 아키텍처를 제안하고 구현하였다. NIEWS (National Infrastructure Emergency Warning System)라고 명명된 이 시스템은 주어진 문서를 분석하여, 위협을 감지하고, 가능성 있는 위협들을 필요한 정보와 함께 적절한 사용자에게 자동으로 보고해 주도록 설계되었다. 이와 아울러, 본 연구에서는 방어적 정보전에 관련된 위기를 감지하기 위한 체계적인 분석 틀이 고안되고 지식베이스로 구현되었다. 본 연구에서 개발된 시스템과 지식기반은 실제로 구현되고, 미육군 전쟁대학의 전략 시뮬레이션 훈련인 SCE (Strategic Crisis Exercise)에 설치되어 활용 되었으며, 여기서 SCE에 필요한 고비용의 분야별 전문가 (SME: subject matter expert)들을 대체 함으로써 많은 비용을 절감할 수 있었다.

  • 정보화는 지금의 급 변화 하는 경영환경 속에서는 기업이 꼭 갖추어야 할 요소로 자리 잡았다. 인천의 중소기업은 경제규모나 고용증대 면에서 많은 역할을 하고 있다. 하지만 규모와 자본의 영세함으로 정보화 이루지 못하고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 인천소재 중소기업을 대상으로 정보화에 대한 전반적인 현황을 파악하였고 정보화 방안을 분석하였다. 현재 인천 소재의 중소기업들의 정보하는 도입기와 성장기 사이에 도달해 있는 것으로 파악 되며, 중소기업 간에도 규모가 큰 중소기업이 정보화에 대한 노력과 성과가 규모가 작은 기업보다 더 많이 나타나고 있었다. 또 중소기업 입장에서 정부나 자치단체에게 건의사항을 파악하였다.
