Development of Design Supporting System considering CPC concept (CPC (Collaborative Product Commerce) 개념의 설계 지원 시스템 개발)

  • A research shows that a new category of software, Collaborative Product Commerce (CPC), is now emerging, allowing discrete manufacturers to once again distinguish themselves on their products and innovations. CPC permits discrete manufacturers to significantly improve the core processes around the management functions associated with the complete product life cycle that are the basis of their existence. As a way to develop computing tools of CPC to support a design process of product, a web-based design supporting system was constructed in the paper. The system consists of C-Product system and Net Meeting Communication system to improve communications between designers and persons for verification of design. The product data files of C-Product system were designed by Pro/Engineer and converted to 3D Viewer format for being used in the web browser. Also, Net Meeting Communication system and Database were developed using ASP and Microsoft SQL 2000 Server to share diverse files that can be utilized to design on the web in real time.

  • This paper presents the dynamic analysis method for an electromechanical system. The engineer has at his disposal a variety of software simulation tools. However, difficulties arise when the study of the behavior of complex electromechanical systems in combination with coupling element is required. Typical examples of such systems are machines for factory automation, home automation, and office automation. Dynamic systems analysis packages or electronic systems analysis packages offer the restrictive to simulate these mixed systems such electromechanical product. Electronic circuit analysis algorithm is easily incorporated into a multi-body dynamics analysis algorithm. The governing equation of electronic circuit is formulated as a differential algebraic equation form including both electrical and mechanical variables and is simultaneously solved in every time step. This analysis method clearly demonstrates the application potential for mixed electromechanical simulation.

  • The role of information system(IS) audit is growing more important according to rapid change of Information technology. This article is to introduce what is IS audit, purpose and effect of IS audit. Now most clients of private IS audit services companies are the public sector. Korean public sectors invest a lot of money to build or implement their information system. Most of their systems are developed by system intergration companies. But they do not have professional engineers to evaluate and review outsourced information system. Therefore they must use outside private professional engineers for sysem auditing. We, including writer, established the first IS audit sevice company in Korea on September in 1997. After that about 15 IS audit service companies are established until now. The effect of IS audit is highly evaluated In public sector by the clients Most clients think IS audit service contributed to upgrade the quality of software and standard the methodology of developing system

  • In this paper, research on the mold design of motor housing produced by the HPDC process was conducted using computer simulations and experiments. Recently, automobile parts have been required to be light and have high strength. The die casting process was used to manufacture automotive motor housings. In the die casting process, the control of casting defects is very important. However, it has usually depended on the experience of the foundry engineer. For the analysis of the manufacturing process of motor housing, the finite element method is applied. Through the simulations using commercial software, the filling pattern and product defects could be confirmed. The analysis results obtained from the filling behavior of the casting process agreed with the experimental results. The computer simulation results of filling behavior were reflected in the optimal mold design of motor housing.

  • In this paper, the geometric design for the body of a 3"-PFA-lined plug valve is concerned, and body model which has less deformed PFA-resin after infection molding process is proposed. A CAE software is used to simulate the deformation due to heat in cooling. To reduce the deformation, some small shapes are added to PFA-resin surfaces related on wall of the valve housing. And thermal stress simulation with FEM methodology is followed after that. Also, the 3D-CAD package is used during the design processes. In this study, I tried to present the possibility to use the FEM analysis in the solid modeling process. So, the design engineer will be able to use analysis package effectively on his job within the limited range.

  • 광대역 멀티미디어 응용에 필수적인 높은 대역폭과 다양한 서비스 품질(QoS)을 지원할 수 있는 ATM 망의 초기 도입 단계로서 기존 LAN 환경의 데이터 통신 응용들을 우선적으로 수용하기 위한 노력이 국제 표준화 기관들을 중심으로 활발히 진행되었다. IETF(Internet Engineer Task Force)의 IP over ATM(IPOA)과 ATM 포럼의 LAN Emulation(LANE)은 초기에 제안된 대표적인 규격이다. 이 고전적 모델은 이미 많은 곳에 구축되어 있으며 이들 망은 점차 확장되어 서로의 모델간의 통신을 필요로 하고 있다. 그러나 제 3계층에서 연동하는 IETF와 제 2계층에서 연동하는 ATM 포럼의 시각 차이로 인해 두 모델간의 통신은 복잡한 경로를 통해야만 가능하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 기존의 망 구조를 유지하면서 효율적이고 경제적으로 서로 다른 두 모델간의 통신을 할 수 있는 ATM BRouter를 이용한 방법을 제안하고 제안된 방법에 사용될 ATM BRouter의 구성 및 기능, 구현에 관한 내용을 기술한다.

Design and the characteristic analysis of experimental system for automatic control education

  • Since the heat exchange system, such as the boiler of power plant, gas turbine, and radiator require a high rate heat efficiency and the efficiency of these systems is depended on the control methods. However, it is important f3r operator to understand control system of these systems. In order to properly apply control equipment to these process control systems, such as boiler, any other heat process, or process control system it is necessary to understand the basic aspects and operation principle of the process that relate control, interrelationships of the process characteristics, and the dynamics that are involved. Generally, PID controllers are used in these systems but it is difficult for engineer to understand the complex dynamics and the tuning method because of the coupling action and disturbance in the system loop. In this paper, we design an effective experimental system fur automatic control education and analyze its characteristics through experimental system and industrial plant control software to study how they can team automatic control system by experiments.

  • Driving simulators provide engineers with a power tool in the development and modification stages of vehicle models. One of the most important factors to realistic simulations is the fidelity obtained by a motion bed and a real-time visual image generation algorithm. Virtual reality technology has been widely used to enhance the fidelity of vehicle simulators. This paper develops the virtual environment for such visual system as head-mounted display for a vehicle driving simulator. Virtual vehicle and environment models are constructed using the object-oriented analysis and design approach. Based on the object model, a three-dimensional graphic model is completed with CAD tools such as Rhino and Pro/ENGINEER. For real-time image generation, the optimized IRIS Performer 3D graphics library is embedded with the multi-thread methodology. The developed software for a virtual driving simulator offers an effective interface to virtual reality devices.

  • In this paper, a computer aided process design technique, utilizing a forging simulator and a commercial CAD software, is presented together with its related design system for cold-former forging of ball joints. The forging sequence design is carried out through user-computer interaction by using design templates, design database, experience or knowledge-based rules and some basic laws found in the literature. The forging simulation technique is used to verify the process design. The detail designs including die set drawings and die manufacturing information are automatically generated. It has been shown that the engineer ing and design productivity is much improved by the presented approach in the practical standpoint of process design engineers.

  • Analysis and design of vibrating machine foundations subjected to dynamic loads is a very complex problem. Thus it is difficult to set up an accurate analytical modeling. Generally, the design of foundations for vibrating machines has been performed by the equivalent static analysis which is generally based on engineer's experience and various assumptions The purpose of this study is to develop an integrated system which enables structural engineers to produce results of high quality within a short time in works related to structural analysis and design of foundation for vibrating machines. As the result of this study, level-up of application software is expected as well as improvement of quality in structural engineering and reduction of engineers' effort.
