Purpose: This descriptive research study investigated the effects of self-efficacy and socially prescribed perfectionism on test anxiety among nursing students. Methods: This study recruited nursing students at K University located in S city through convenience sampling. A survey was conducted from September 22 to November 4, 2020, using online web questionnaires. A total of 180 answers were analyzed. SPSS 22.0 was used to perform independent t-tests, one-way ANOVA, Scheffé post hoc analysis, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression analysis. Results: The average test anxiety was 3.27 points out of 6 points. The general self-efficacy was 3.81 points out of 5 points; social self-efficacy was 3.58 points and socially imposed perfectionism was 2.79 points out of 5 points. Variables affecting test anxiety were socially prescribed perfectionism, sex, academic stress, and general self-efficacy, and the explanatory power of these variables was 30.9%. Conclusion: It was confirmed that academic stress, general self-efficacy, and social imposition perfectionism were factors affecting test anxiety among nursing students. Therefore, it is necessary to develop and provide a program to control the factors affecting test anxiety in nursing students to lower test anxiety.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the influencing factors on burnout after analyzing the relationship among clinical nurses' various perfectionism and coping styles. Methods: A descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted with 200 clinical nurses who had six months or more years of clinical experiences from two general hospitals located in D city. The data were analyzed by t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise regression analysis using IBM SPSS statistics 23.0 program. Results: The burnout of clinical nurses was positively correlated with socially prescribed perfectionism and negatively correlated with active coping style. Socially prescribed perfectionism was positively correlated with active coping style and passive coping style. Influencing factors on the burnout of clinical nurses were socially prescribed perfectionism (${\beta}=.37$), satisfied work unit (${\beta}=-.64$) and neutral satisfaction of work unit (${\beta}=-.27$), over 40 years of age (${\beta}=-.21$), and active coping style (${\beta}=-.14$). The model consisting of these variables explained 42% of variance of burnout in clinical nurses. Conclusion: Based on the findings of this study developing intervention programs that consider influencing factors such as perfectionism and coping styles is needed to reduce the level of burnout of clinical nurses.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of decentering and self-silencing in a relationship between socially prescribed perfectionism and social anxiety. We predicted self-silencing would function as a mediator in this relationship, and that decentering would moderate this mediation effect. To investigate this aim, three hundred seven university students were surveyed. All variables showed statistically significant correlations, and there was no statistically significant difference in the moderating effect of decentering in the relationship between socially prescribed perfectionism and social anxiety. Conversely, this study showed that there was a significant difference in the moderating effect of decentering in the relationship between self-silencing and social anxiety. In addition, socially prescribed perfectionism affected social anxiety through self-silencing, and decentering moderated the mediating effect of self-silencing. Implications and potential follow-up studies are discussed.
The purpose of this study was to examine the moderated mediating effect of self-compassion on the relationship between socially prescribed perfectionism, internalized shame, and interpersonal problems among university students. For this purpose, survey data of 327 domestic university students were obtained, and the collected data were analyzed using SPSS 25.0 and Macro 3.4 programs. The results of this study are as follows. First, it was found that internalized shame partially mediates the relationship between socially prescribed perfectionism and interpersonal problems. Second, it was found that self-compassion moderate the relationship between internalized shame and interpersonal problems. Third, it was found that there was a moderated mediating effect of self-compassion mediating the effect of socially prescribed perfectionism on interpersonal problems through internalized shame. Finally, the significance of this study and suggestions for follow-up studies were discussed.
This study is to examine the effects of Socially Prescribed Perfectionism on depression by Intolerance of Uncertainty and Unconditional Self Acceptance, and to well being to improve the positive life of college students. This study is conducted on 238 college students who are influenced by Socially Prescribed Perfectionism, Intolerance of Uncertainty, Unconditional Self Acceptance, and Depression. This study analyzed a questionnaire consisted of a sub-component of the Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale (MPS), a Intolerance of Uncertainty Scale(IUS), an Unconditional Self Acceptance Questionnaire-R(USAQ-R), and a depression scale (CES-D) and verified correlation analysis and structural equation model. The results of this study showed that socially prescribed perfectionism had significant negative correlations with intolerance of uncertainty, and had significant positive correlation with unconditional self acceptance. The results of the structural equation model showed full mediating effect of the intolerance of uncertainty and unconditional self acceptance between Socially prescribed perfectionism and depression, Finally, implications and suggestions are suggested in this study.
This study was conducted to verify the effects of socially prescribed perfectionism on depression as mediated by intolerance of uncertainty and either ruminating or reflective response styles, on as will as to find ways to effectively address depression as it presents in university students. For this purpose, 283 university students at the central region were assesed using data collected from the following surveys: the Center for Epidemiological Studies-Depression Scale(CES-D), the Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale(HMPS), the Intolerance of Uncertainty Scale(IUS), and the Response to Depressed Mood Questionnaire(RDQ) and that were used to collect data. The results of this study are as follows. First, there was a positive correlation between the Intolerance of uncertainty and the rumination response style to the uncertainty of socially prescribed perfectionism, but not correlation the reflective response mode. Second, with respect to the relationship between socially prescribed perfectionism and depression, intolerance of uncertainty was set as the primary mediator variable and the rumination response style were set as the secondary mediator variables. The results shown to have a significant mediating effects. However this mediating effect was not significant when, in order to verify the mediating effect, we set the secondary mediator variable as the reflective response style. These results suggest that to prevent depression that manifests as socially prescribed perfectionism, it may be effective to intervene with a focus on the intolerance of uncertainty and the rumination response style. Finally, the implications and limitations of the study are discussed based on the results.
The purpose of this study was to look how workaholism regulates the effect on the relation between the perfectionism types - self-oriented perfectionism (SOP), other-oriented perfectionism (OOP), Socially prescribed perfectionism (SPP) - and burnout. To do this study, 250 data collected from people who would be over 20 years old in the country using Korean Version of Hewitt's Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale, Korean Version of Workaholism Battery, Maslach Burnout Inventory. To analyze the result of the questionnaire survey, Descriptive statistic, correlation analysis, t-test, regression analysis, two-way ANOVA were performed using SPSS. As a result, the interaction between SPP and workaholism showed the meaningful effect on burnout. In other words, while SPP lower group experiences less cynicism regardless of the degree of workaholism, SPP upper group experiences noticeable more cynicism when they are in the lower workaholism group, suggesting that workaholism may have a positive effect of making someone experience less burnout.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among perfectionism, stress, and burnout in college golf athletes. Participants were 221 college students. Self-oriented perfectionism and socially prescribed perfectionism were found to be the antecedent variables causing stress. Self-oriented perfectionism reduced personal accomplishments, and socially prescribed perfectionism increased the level of burnout. Additionally, perceived stress not only engendered emotional exhaustion but also reduced personal accomplishments. Regarding indirect effects, self-oriented perfectionism and socially prescribed perfectionism increased the level of stress and affected athletes' emotional exhaustion and lack of accomplishments. The results will be of use for helping athletes to escape from the perfectionism that occurs due to their obsession with winning, thus laying the foundation for athletes to continue to enjoy their sports.

Purpose: This study observes the degrees of perfectionism (both self-oriented and socially-prescribed perfectionism), academic resilience, and satisfaction with major in nursing students and identifies the influence of perfectionism and academic resilience on satisfaction with major. Methods: Data from 115 second or third-year students in a nursing were collected for two months at different three universities. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and hierarchical multiple regression. Results: Satisfaction with major was higher for second year students compared to third year students. And the satisfaction was higher for those with a higher Grade point average (${\geq}_-3.5$) compared to those with a lower. Self-oriented perfectionism had a higher score than socially-prescribed perfectionism and academic resilience based on self-control was rated the highest score of the subcategories. The degree of satisfaction was positively correlated with Self-oriented perfectionism and academic resilience. The final regression model showed that grade and academic resilience accounted for 34.2% of the variance in predicting the level of satisfaction with major. Conclusion: The results suggest that it is crucial to find a strategy that could enhance academic resilience, especially designed for upper-year university students, to improve the level of satisfaction with major.

This research aimed to investigate the relations of perfectionism and multicultural attitude upon a premise that sub-factors of the perfectionism : self-oriented perfectionism, other-oriented perfectionism and socially-prescribed perfectionism are related to multicultural attitude and to examine the moderation effect of self-acceptance on the relation between perfectionism and multicultural attitude. The questionnaires designed to measure multidimensional perfectionism, unconditional self-acceptance and multicultural attitude were administered to 258 office workers in Seoul and Gyeoggi-Do. The results from correlation analysis and regression analysis were as followed. First, sub-factors of the perfectionism was partially associated with sub-factors of multicultural attitude. In particular two sub-factors of the perfectionism : 'self-oriented perfectionism', 'other-oriented perfectionism' yielded effect on multicultural attitude, controlling the effects of other subscales. Second, unconditional self-acceptance moderated the relation between 'self oriented perfectionism' and sub-factor of the multicultural attitude : 'recognizing difference'. And unconditional self-acceptance moderated the relation between 'socially prescribed perfectionism' and sub-factors of the multicultural attitude : 'recognizing difference', 'openness and acceptance'. This present findings not only extend understandings about relationship between perfectionism and multicultural attitude by examining self-concept : unconditional self-acceptance but also provide that it isn't helpful that further support and rationale for unconditional self-acceptance as intervention for targets to focus in counseling process for those who suffer from perfectionism.
