  • Social media has become an integral part of consumers' daily lives. Individuals connect with one another on social networking sites to like, share, and post information and experiences. As social media become popular among millennials, a growing number of fashion retailers use social media networks in the context of online commerce transactions. Accordingly, an increased number of fashion retailers has been using social media as an advertising tool and a retail channel. Despite the popularity of social media among millennials, empirical findings are limited to reveal factors associated with young consumers' intentions to use social commerce in fashion shopping. This study sought to examine factors affecting millennials' intentions to use social commerce in fashion shopping by adopting the technology acceptance model. A total of 524 college students completed an online survey in the U.S. The results of structural equation model confirmed that perceived ease of use, usefulness, and enjoyment had a positive impact on millennials' attitudes and intentions toward fashion shopping in social commerce. While both perceived ease of use and usefulness positively influenced enjoyment, usefulness had a stronger impact than ease of use. Compared to usefulness, enjoyment had much stronger impact on attitudes. Further structural model analysis revealed a direct, positive influence of perceived usefulness of social commerce on perceived enjoyment of social commerce, which has not been explored in prior studies. These findings provide theoretical and managerial implications.

In tourism research, there has been a lot of research of how the visual media such as movies and soap operas induced tourism. However, no studies have attempted to examine the role of social media as a music consumption channel and its impact on tourism. Expanding a body of media-induced tourism, we analysed the impact of video-sharing social media on music-induced tourism with a case of Korean pop music and inbound tourism to Korea. Developing a Web-crawler, we collected YouTube users' comments data on 166 Korean pop music video clips which were released from 2009 to 2012 with over 1 million view counts. • As electronic word of mouth plays an important role in purchase behavior among consumers, the number of studies on the impact of electronic word of mouth is rapidly increasing. Nevertheless, it is difficult to discover comparative studies on the mass media which had a great impact on consumer's purchase behavior before the impact of electronic word of mouth becomes greater versus the social media where electronic words of mouth are created and distributed. It is considered that it seems to be necessary to find an appropriate mutual supplement point between the media designed for a successful marketing by comparing and analyzing the existing mass media versus the social media, major media for electronic word of mouth. Therefore, this study aims to compare and analyze the impact of comments on movie revenue in the representative forms of mass media such as online news and social media blogs. In particular, this study also considers an appropriate media for promoting movies by period by comparing and analyzing the two media before and after film release. For analysis, this study collects the information on the number of comments on online news and blogs in 70 Korean movies released in 2011 and 2012 from five weeks before film release to eight weeks after film release on a daily basis via Naver. This study also collects the information on the movie revenue using the statistical data of movie industry from Korean Film Commission. As a result of empirical data analysis, it is found that the two media showed no difference in movie revenue before film release, but after film release, the impact of blogs was more significant than that of online news.
