A Case-Study of Implementation of Improved Strategies for Prevention of Laboratory-acquired Brucellosis

  • Background: In 2012, the Alaska Section of Epidemiology investigated personnel potentially exposed to a Brucella suis isolate as it transited through three laboratories. Methods: We summarize the first implementation of the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 2013 revised recommendations for monitoring such exposures: (1) risk classification; (2) antimicrobial postexposure prophylaxis; (3) serologic monitoring; and (4) symptom surveillance. Results: Over 30 people were assessed for exposure and subsequently monitored for development of illness. No cases of laboratory-associated brucellosis occurred. Changes were made to gaps in laboratory biosafety practices that had been identified in the investigation. Conclusion: Achieving full compliance for the precise schedule of serologic monitoring was challenging and resource intensive for the laboratory performing testing. More refined exposure assessments could inform decision making for follow-up to maximize likelihood of detecting persons at risk while not overtaxing resources.

Narcissism and Social Media Addiction in Workplace

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of narcissism on employees' social media addiction and how it influences their job satisfaction and organizational commitment. And this study explores if perceived organizational support can moderate the relationship between narcissism and social media addiction. For this, this study collected data from 285 employees in Korean companies through a survey method and uses SPSS 18.0 for hierarchical regression analysis in the hypothesis test. First, organizational politics increases mood modification, withdrawal and tolerance among the sub-factors of social media addiction. Second, each phenomena of social media service addiction such as salience, withdrawal and tolerance decrease each relevant factors of job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Third, withdrawal and tolerance among the sub-factors of social media addiction play the mediating roles between narcissism and each relevant factors of job satisfaction/organizational commitment. Finally, perceived organizational support decrease the effect of narcissism on mood modification, withdrawal and tolerance among the sub-factors of social media addiction. This study provides some of managerial implications to corporate executives who try to manage organizational attitudes.

Influence Maximization Scheme against Various Social Adversaries

  • With the exponential developments of social network, their fundamental role as a medium to spread information, ideas, and influence has gained importance. It can be expressed by the relationships and interactions within a group of individuals. Therefore, some models and researches from various domains have been in response to the influence maximization problem for the effects of "word of mouth" of new products. For example, in reality, more than two related social groups such as commercial companies and service providers exist within the same market issue. Under such a scenario, they called social adversaries competitively try to occupy their market influence against each other. To address the influence maximization (IM) problem between them, we propose a novel IM problem for social adversarial players (IM-SA) which are exploiting the social network attributes to infer the unknown adversary's network configuration. We sophisticatedly define mathematical closed form to demonstrate that the proposed scheme can have a near-optimal solution for a player.

인적 네트워킹이 정서적 조직몰입과 개인적응성과에 미치는 영향: 여성 공무원을 대상으로 (The effect of Women' social networking on affective commitment and individual adaptation performance)

  • 여성 공무원 증가는 공공조직의 여성인력 관리에 대한 중요성을 증대시키고 있으며, 이와 같은 맥락에서 여성 공무원의 안정적인 조직 적응을 위한 조직사회화 과정에 대한 관심 또한 증가하고 있다. 본 논문은 여성 공무원의 정서적 조직몰입과 적응성과를 사회화의 긍정적 효과로 해석하며, 성공적인 조직사회화의 영향요인으로 인적 네트워킹을 파악하고자 한다. 이러한 활발한 인적 네트워킹 활동은 상대방을 이해하거나 동조하게 되는 긍정적 감정공유를 높일 것이며, 이를 통하여 조직 내부에 대한 안정적 정착을 위한 정서적 조직몰입과 개인적응성과를 높이게 될 것이라 기대하였다. 또한 종업원의 긍정심리 자본이 내 외부 네트워킹의 긍정적 효과를 보다 상승시킬 것이라 예측하였다. 본 연구는 262명의 여성공무원들을 대상으로 실증 분석을 하였다. 연구 분석 결과, 내 외부 네트워킹은 감정공유를 높이는 것으로 검증되었으며, 감정공유는 정서적 조직몰입과 개인적응성과를 상승시키는 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 긍정심리자본에 대한 인적네트워킹과 감정공유 간의 조절효과는 조직 내부에서의 네트워킹활동과 감정공유간의 관계에서만 긍정심리자본의 유의한 조절효과가 검증되었다. 따라서 인적 네트워킹활동에 있어서는 공식적, 절차적 관계에 의한 사회적 관계가 긍정심리자본이 결합된 정서적 관계로 확장된다면 보다 긍정적 효과를 나타낼 것이라고 판단된다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 학문적, 실무적 시사점을 제시하였다.

  • The present study purposed to identify differences and similarities in traditional residential space among Korea. China and Japan, which share similar social structure, and to make a comparative analysis on differences in traditional residential space according to family relation in the three countries. For these Purpose, this study selected residences, which are similar to one another in terns of time, class and economy and analyzed them using their floor plans and photographs. The results of this research are as follows. Knrea, China and Japan, all of which have family-centered social structure, separate their residential space from the external society and particularly women's space is placed inside men's space or in a secluded area. The most remarkable characteristic of residential space in Korea is the division of living spare between men and women. Space is allocated according to the hierarchical order of families. In this way, the position or order of family members is reflected in the use of space. Characteristically in China based on the large-family system each family is given a space for independent life. Particularly as the relation among brothers is emphasized, space is allocated equally to all brothers but the status of a space is determined by the order of the residents. Residential space in Japan is organized to emphasize the absolute authority and status of the head of the family. As the space is planned focused on the family head's daily life and guest reception, the relation among other family members is ignored. That is, Japanese residence is a social space for the family head's guest reception, Chinese residence is a family-centered space rather than a social space, and Korean residence accommodates both space for family life and social space.

대학스포츠팀 소셜미디어의 이용동기 (Motivation for following College Sports Teams' Social Media Accounts)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 스포츠팬들이 대학 스포츠 팀의 SNS를 이용하는 동기를 분석하는 것에 있다. 연구대상자는 NCAA Division1 대학교에 재학 중인 대학생을 모집단으로 선정하여 비확률 표본추출법(non-probability sampling)중 편의 표본추출법(convenience sampling method)을 이용하여 3개의 NCAA Division1 대학에서 총 320명을 표집 하였다. 최종 응답률은 49%(N=159)이었으며, 이 중 질문문항의 일괄적인 처리 혹은 무응답, 오기입 등 신뢰성이 떨어진다고 판단되어지는 13부의 설문지를 제외하고 총 146부를 분석에 사용하였다. 확인적 요인분석과 다중회귀 분석을 실시한 결과, diversion, socialization, fanship, team support, 그리고 technical knowledge 동기가 대학스포츠팀 SNS이용에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 information 그리고 pass-time 동기는 SNS이용에 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다.

지역사회에서 예방적 접근으로 실시한 사회기술훈련의 효과 (The Effects of Social Skills Training as a Preventive Approach for Children in the Community Setting)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of social skills training (SST) for children in two different community settings, an elementary school and a child community center. Methods : Two separate groups of 15 children (10 boys and 5 girls) and 13 children (4 boys and 9 girls) participated in a SST program twice per week at an elementary school and a child community center, respectively. Age range of participants was from 8 to 10 years. Sixty-minute-long sessions of SST were continued twice per week for 4 weeks. Korean-Child Behavior Checklist (K-CBCL), Conner's Rating Scales, Korean-Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Rating Scale (K-ARS), Social Skills Rating System (SSRS), and Matson's Evaluation of Social Skills with Youngsters (MESSY) were evaluated by their parents before and after the SST program. Results : Pre-and-post analysis of SST indicated no significant statistical differences in the elementary school group. However, the child community center group showed significantly increased scores for total social ability (p<.05) and decreased scores for attention problem (p<.05) on the K-CBCL. In addition, scores of MESSY were significantly increased (p<.05). These differences between the two groups were still significant after controlling pre-SST scores ; and difference of SST scores between the two groups disappeared after SST. Conclusion : Results suggest that SST in the community setting is an effective tool for prevention of social deficits and problems in attention by promoting social function and attention.

고령자들의 저작능력 및 잔존치수와 사회적 활동과의 관계 (Ability for chewing a social activity and connection with the life function of a senior citizen)

  • The purpose of this study is to widen the subject of research to the whole social activity, which is divided into the following four categories in the previous study on "Reality of social activity of senior citizen": 1. work 2. social participation and volunteer activity 3. learning activity 4. individual activity, and to clarify which category is most related to the masticatory ability. There were 57korean subjects in the survey: aged 65 through 85 (73.8$\pm$5.5), 81 women: aged 65 through 85 (74.3$\pm$5.3), a total of 138: aged 65 through 85 (74.1$\pm$5.4), in College for senior citizen of A city, Buddhist College for senior citizen of A city and senior citizen's welfare facility of A city who gave consent to the research The Japanese subject were 38 men: aged 65 through 85(75.3$\pm$5.4), 54 women: aged 65 through 85(75.5$\pm$5.2), a total of 92: aged 65 through 85(75.4$\pm$5.2) in women's division of F city Federation of Senior Citizens' Club, Otsuka division of B ward Federation of Senior Citizens' Club and S ward Federation of Senior Citizens' Club who gave consent to the research. The major findings were as follows: A social activity, individual activity were active in a social activity domain on a day so that people of Japanese advanced age had you, and writing ability was high, and, as for freezing, learning activity was active for people of Korean advanced age in a social activity domain so that writing ability was high.

고객의 텀블러활용 경험과 사회적 정당성의 관계: 고객감정의 매개역할 (The Relationship between Customer Tumbler Experience and Social Legitimacy: The Mediation Effect of Customer Emotion)

  • 본 연구는 고객의 텀블러활용 경험과 사회적 정당성의 관계에 대한 고객감정의 매개역할을 실증적으로 확인하였다. 이를 위하여 텀블러를 활용하는 소비자들을 대상으로 설문조사하여 자료를 수집하였다. 가설검증은 구조방정식모형분석법을 활용하였으며, 추가적으로 고객경험과 사회적 정당성의 매개효과를 검증하기 위하여 Hoyle and Smith이 제안한 방법을 사용하였다. 실증분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 고객경험은 고객감정과 사회적 정당성에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 고객감정은 사회적 정당성에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 고객의 텀블러 활용경험, 고객감정, 사회적 정당성의 관계를 탐색적으로 제안하고, 사회적 정당성에 대하여 고객경험과 고객감정이 선행요인 역할을 할 수 있다는 것으로 실증적으로 확인하였다는데 의미가 있다.

SNS의 관계적 혜택이 브랜드태도에 미치는 영향 (Influences of Relationship Benefits of SNS on Brand Attitude)

  • Supporting communications among users, Social Network has encouraged various information flows through relationships among them. This paper studies on mentality or attitude of Social Network Services (SNS for short) users, on the basis of Technology Acceptance Model (TAM for short) and then proposes so-called TAMS, Technology Acceptance Model for Social Network Services. SNS users make full use of SNS as channels in order to create, expand, and obtain some information related to personal concerns. We will research on how the benefits that users get by using SNS exert influence on user-perceived usability. The SNS-using benefits focus on relationship benefits that are formed by interactions among users. Provided that perceived usability affects mental or informational benefits according to involvement of SNS users, we will check how perceived usability or ease of use is connected to brand attitude.
