This paper describes the impulse response characteristics of the grounding systems in power utility system. Several regulations regarding to electric power equipments, services and managements require that the groundings of class 1 ($E_1$) and class 2 ($E_2$) must be connected at the common point in grounding systems. In addition, the grounding for arrester ($E_{LA}$), which belongs to the grounding of class 1, should be connected at the same point. However, there is no method and position of common-connection at anywhere. In this work, when the impulse current was injected through the grounding conductor for arrester, the investigations measuring and analyzing potential rises induced at the common connection point and other grounding conductors were conducted. The experiments were carried out in the conditions of the grounding conductor of 25m long and the near or remote common connection from ground electrode. The lightning impulse current was applied so as to simulate the on-set of arrester due to lightning and/or switching surges.

Plant industry is one of technology-intensive and most prosperous industries in Korea because of its recent prosperity and promising outlook in export. However, no Korean EPC company has yet been well prepared in lifting their capacity sufficient enough to get the upstream conceptual or basic design and engineering orders for sizable plant projects which are known as the more value-added. If systems engineering, a methodology which developed complex systems such as airplanes and has been justified its effectiveness in Defense and NASA projects, can be integrated with plant engineering which should be developed and applied based on the requirements of so many stakeholders, conditions, lifecycle concepts, and constraints of the projects, huge synergic effect is expected particularly in developing a specific upstream design, which is a conceptual or basic design. The notion of integration with each other between systems engineering and plant engineering can be really the crux of EPC's success in any plant projects. This paper suggests an approach showing a methodology how to dig out, analyze, evaluate, verify and implement the stakeholders' requirements into a plant design in conceptual phase using the theory and skills of systems engineering. ISO/IEC 15288 well known systems engineering standards is used. Carbon capture system is used for a case study, for it is an emerging technology in reducing emissions of carbon dioxide causing global warming from flue gas after combustion. Here systems engineering was proven to play a substantial role in enhancing the capability of designers in developing a conceptual design of whole plant or certain part of crucial plant systems.

We developed a digital x-ray medical imaging system using commercially available amorphous silicon image sensor plate. The image readout could be accomplished within 3.5 sec after radiation exposure and be displayed on a monitor through computer interface. This system needs not the conventional x-ray films and film processors, and also provides digital radiographic images. This system is the fastest digital radiography system developed so far, and expected to replace many of the conventional x-ray film systems or digital radiography systems.

The safety degree of navigation for collision avoidance is closely related with the combination between mariner's behavior and navigational environment. The condition of navigational environment is mainly decided by navigable waters, ship traffic, rule of road, sea state, weather and so on. Especially, the condition of navigable waters and ship traffic in navigational environment are ones of the important factors to attain safe navigation when mariners are underway and crossing, head on or overtaking situation. Thus this paper is to analyze the characteristics of mariner's behavior for collision avoidance caused by ship traffic and navigable waters by analyzing the contents of questionnaire and the results of international collaborative research. As a result, it can be concluded that the density of ship traffic and the area of navigable waters affect mariner's ship handling for collision avoidance.

Several code-division multiple access (CDMA)-based interconnect schemes have been recently proposed as alternatives to the conventional time-division multiplexing bus in multicore systems-on-chip. CDMA systems with a dynamic assignment of spreading codewords are particularly attractive because of their potential for higher bandwidth efficiency compared with the systems in which the codewords are statically assigned to processing elements. In this paper, we propose a novel distributed arbitration scheme for dynamic CDMA-bus-based systems, which solves the complexity and scalability issues associated with commonly used centralized arbitration schemes. The proposed arbitration unit is decomposed into multiple simple arbitration elements, which are connected in a ring. The arbitration ring implements a token-passing algorithm, which both resolves destination conflicts and assigns the codewords to processing elements. Simulation results show that the throughput reduction in an optimally configured dynamic CDMA bus due to arbitration-related overheads does not exceed 5%.

본 연구에서는 ISO 9705(room corner test)에 의한 샌드위치 패널 화재 시험방법을 보완한 ISO 13784-1(room corner test for sandwich panel building systems) 시험방법을 적용하여 샌드위치 패널연소특성 및 성능을 분석하였다. 4종의 샌드위치 패널을 시험체로 선택하였으며, 시험 후 열방출율, 연기 발생율, FIGRA, SMOGRA 결과값을 중심으로 각 패널의 연소 성능을 분석하였으며, 최종적으로 유럽 Eurefic Research Program 및 EN 13501-1에서 제시하는 분류기준에 적용하여 등급분류를 시도하였다.

Although the electromagnetic launcher technology has been progressed significantly during the past two decades the number of firing test facilities are not many. This is prbably due to the large budget and man power required to build and maintain full scale electromagnetic launcher facilities. As the EM launcher technology's potential capabilities have been somewhat demonstrated with the full scale large systems the research is now headed more toward overcoming specific difficulties and answering questions experimentally with smaller, cost effective systems. The first half of this paper presents EM launcher's improved sub-scaling relationships based upon magnetic, thermal and momentum differential equations and EM launcher's basic equations. With the proposed scaling method the field variables can be matched or scaled linearly between the two geometrically scaled systems. The second half of the paper presents pulsed power system's circuit analysis and design technique, which is applied to the capacitor-powered small pulsed power system with crow-barring circuitry. The effect of the so-called speed volt is included. A sub-scaled small system's design is provided as an example.

The purpose of this study is to find method to meet the greater retailer's supplier assessment requirement So, this study analyze the greater retailer's requirement for supplier assesment and research global standard which is used instead of supplier assessment requirement that is recognized by global retailers initiative. Next, this study analyze domestic aquaculture certification requirement and compare the global standard with the domestic requirement by using The Most Similar Systems Design. As a result, this comparing has founded all of two domestic certifications are similar to global standard's Good Aquaculture Practice module but those are a little bit different from System Element module. Therefore, this study suggest tree alternative. First, make up for the weak points in the current domestic aquaculture certification system. Second, the introduction of global aquaculture management system certification as supporting by government. Third, development of new standard in accordance with global food standard. This study has major implications for research into development of domestic aquaculture standard.

As the economic society develops very exceedingly, the gap of production and consumption elarges gradually. So the current function to connect them and the function to communicate are needed. I think the advertisement take the charge of this role. This advertisement is so essential to today's economic society that its power influences variably both the economic society and the consumers. The enterprisers, advertising owners stick to the maximization of profits and neglect the principle of true advertisements. They but tise not the information for the consumers to choose reasonably but the false, exaggerating advertisement and unfair manifestation very frequently, which is the main trouble in the current problems of consumption. Therefore, on the one hand, in this study from protecting the consumers not to be involved in the false, exaggerating advertisements, the establishment of advertising ethics as advertising owner's self-control is discussed. On the other hand, the legal control regulation in Korea, involving Japan and U.S.A. are analyzed. The cases of false, exaggerating advertisements and unfair manifestation in Korea are also demonstrated. Finally, the proposals to improve the advertisements are made from the Point of government, enterprisers, and consumers.
