Zygotorulaspora cornina sp. nov. and Zygotorulaspora smilacis sp. nov., Two Novel Ascomycetous Yeast Species Isolated from Plant Flowers and Fruits

  • Three isolates belonging to the ascomycetous genus Zygotorulaspora were obtained from the fruits of Cornus officinalis and Smilax china, and flowers of Dendranthema zawadskii var. latilobum in Gongju-si, Korea. Phylogenetic Analyses of the LSU D1/D2 domain and ITS region sequences supported the recognition of two new species: Zygotorulaspora cornina sp. nov. (type strain NIBRFGC000500475 = KACC93346PPP) and Zygotorulaspora smilacis sp. nov. (type strain NIBRFGC000500476 = KACC93347PPP). The two novel species revealed no growth on D-Galactose, unlike the other six species in the genus Zygotorulaspora. They are distinguished from each other by their phylogenetic differences and phenotypic characteristics such as assimilation of xylitol, 5-keto-D-gluconate, and ethanol. All species in the genus Zygotorulaspora including the two novel species have phenotypic traits of genus Zygotorulaspora: asci are persistent, sucrose and raffinose are assimilated, and m-inositol is not required for growth, and they are mainly associated with plants.

관목지 목초본류의 사료가치에 관한 평가 (Estimate Feed Value of Herbage from Shrubby Area)

  • 젖소등 초식 가축의 사료 자원개발을 위하여 국내 산지에 다량으로 자생되고 있는 관목류 및 초류중 비교적 가축 사료로써 활용 가치가 있어 보이는 수종의 관목초류를 택하여 시기별로 사료성분을 분석하고 젖소에 대한 일부 급여 시험을 실시하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 관목초류의 건물 함량은 평균 25~45%의 범위를 나타내고 있으며 이중 청미례와 댕댕이덩쿨이 각각 26.25%와 26.36%로 가장 낮았고 졸참나무가 47.19%로 가장 높게 나타났다. 2. 조단백질 함량은 건물량 기준으로 대부분 10% 이상으로 나타났고 이중 칙과 자귀나무가 평균 20% 정도로 가장 높게 나타났으며 억새와 새는 평균 10% 미만으로 낮게 나타났다. 3. 조섬유 함량은 평균 20~30% 뱅위로 타나났으며 개암나무와 청미례가 20% 정도로 가장 낮았고 억새와 새는 37% 이상으로 높게 나타났다. 4. 대부분 관옥 사초류는 시기가 경과함에 따라 조단백질 함량이 줄어 들고, 조섬유 함량이 증가되는 경향을 보였으며, 또한 건물량이 증가되였다. 5. 관목초본류를 볏짚 대용으로 1일 두당 5kg을 급여한 결과 체중과 유량 및 무지고형분 함량이 약간 증가되는 경향을 보였다.

청미래덩굴 잎 및 뿌리 추출물의 항산화, ${\alpha}$-Glucosidase 억제 및 항염증 활성비교 (Comparison of antioxidant, ${\alpha}$-glucosidase inhibition and anti-inflammatory activities of the leaf and root extracts of Smilax china L.)

  • 본 연구에서 청미래덩굴 잎과 뿌리의 물추출물을 이용하여 총 폴리페놀과 플라보노이드의 함량을 측정한 결과 잎 추출물에서 더 많은 함량이 확인되었으며, DPPH 및 ABTS radical 소거능, 환원력 측정을 통한 항산화 활성을 비교한 결과도 폴리페놀과 플라보노이드함량 측정 결과와 마찬가지로 잎에서 높은 활성을 명확하게 확인할 수 있었다. 그리고 청미래덩굴 추출물의 항당뇨 효능에 대한 최초의 시도로서 ${\alpha}$-glucosidase 활성억제능을 측정한 결과 뿌리추출물에서는 효소의 억제력을 확인할 수 없었지만 잎 추출물에서는 농도 및 반응시간의 증가에 따라 억제력이 증가하여 물 추출물 상태에서 1 mg/mL 기준으로 acarbose의 ${\alpha}$-glucosidase 활성 억제능과 비교하여 71.8%의 활성을 관찰할 수 있었다. 또한 당뇨와 염증의 관련성이 대두되는 최근의 연구 상황에서 청미래덩굴 잎 추출물의 IL-$1{\beta}$, IL-6, iNOS, COX-2의 mRNA 발현 억제작용을 확인함으로써 염증반응의 개선 가능성도 제시할 수 있었다. 결과적으로 청미래덩굴 잎 추출물의 항산화능, ${\alpha}$-glucosidase 활성억제능 및 항염증효능을 확인함으로써 neutraceuticals 소재로서의 개발가능성을 증명하였고 추가 연구의 필요성을 제시하였다.

미선나무 자생지 주변의 초본군락과 식물상 분석 (Analysis on Herbaceous Communities and Flora around Abeliophyllum distichum Habitats)

  • 본 연구는 미선나무 자생지 주변의 식물상과 초본군락을 체계적이고 객관적으로 분석함으로써 자생지 복원 및 보전대책에 대한 기초자료 제공을 위해 수행되었다. 식물상 조사결과, 가장 많은 분류군을 보인 지역은 괴산군 율지리(III)로 48과 91속 99종 15변종 등 총 114분류군이 조사되었으며, 가장 적은 지역은 진천군 용정리(V)로 28과 49속 47종 7변종 등 총 54분류군이 출현하였다. 초본군락의 우점종은 환삼덩굴과 쑥(괴산군 추점리 I), 주름조개풀(괴산군 송덕리 II와 영동읍 매천리 IV), 대사초${\cdot}$${\cdot}$쑥(괴산군 율지리 III), 덩굴닭의장풀(진천군 용정리 V), 조릿대(부안군 중계리 VI)로 확인되었다. 상관관계분석 결과, 쑥과 대사초, 조릿대와 김의털, 조릿대와 청미래덩굴, 김의털과 청미래덩굴이 매우 높은 상관성을 보였다. 유사도지수 분석결과, 유사도지수가 가장 높은 것은 III과 VI지역으로 $27.27\%$를 보였다. 환경요인과 식물종수간의 회귀분석 결과, 해발고도와 식물종수의 설명력은 약 $70.0\%$였다.

한국 약용식물의 최종당화산물 생성저해활성 검색(XII) (Screening of Herbal Medicines from Korea with Inhibitory Activity on Advanced Glycation End Products Formation (XII))

  • Advanced glycation end products (AGEs) have been implicated in diabetic complications. In this study, the inhibitory effect on AGEs formation of 156 Korean herbal medicines has been evaluated. Among them, 15 Korean herbal medicines were showed to have significant effect (IC50: <10 μg/ml) compared to positive reference, aminoguandine (IC50: 76.47±4.81 μg/ml). Especially, four herbal medicines, Alnus firma (leaves, IC50: 3.25±0.10 μg/ml), Juncus decipiens (whole plants, IC50: 4.30±0.44 μg/ml), Smilax china (stems, IC50: 3.55±0.21 μg/ml), and Vicia amoena (Aerial parts, IC50: 4.25±0.06 μg/ml) showed more potent inhibitory activity approximately 8-24 fold) than the positive control aminoguanidine.

Oxyresveratrol의 기원, 생합성, 생물학적 활성 및 약물동력학 (Source, Biosynthesis, Biological Activities and Pharmacokinetics of Oxyresveratrol)

  • Oxyresveratrol (trans-2,3',4,5'-tetrahydroxystilbene) has been receiving increasing attention because of its astonishing biological activities, including antihyperlipidemic, neuroprotection, antidiabetic, anticancer, antiinflammation, immunomodulation, antiaging, and antioxidant activities. Oxyresveratrol is a stilbenoid, a type of natural phenol and a phytoalexin produced in the roots, stems, leaves, and fruits of several plants. It was first isolated from the heartwood of Artocarpus lakoocha, and has also been found in various plants, including Smilax china, Morus alba, Varatrum nigrum, Scirpus maritinus, and Maclura pomifera. Oxyresveratrol, an aglycone of mulberroside A, has been produced by microbial biotransformation or enzymatic hydrolysis of a glycosylated stilbene mulberroside A, which is one of the major compounds of the roots of M. alba. Oxyresveratrol shows less cytotoxicity, better antioxidant activity and polarity, and higher cell permeability and bioavailability than resveratrol (trans-3,5,4'-trihydroxystilbene), a well-known antioxidant, suggesting that oxyresveratrol might be a potential candidate for use in health functional food and medicine. This review focuses on the plant sources, chemical characteristics, analysis, biosynthesis, and biological activities of oxyresveratrol as well as describes the perspectives on further exploration of oxyresveratrol.

부산광역시 장산의 식물상 (The Flora of Mt. Jang in Busan)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the flora of Mt. Jang located at Haeundae-Gu in Busan. The survey for the flora was carried out from Oct. 2008 to Sep. 2009. The results were obtained as follows. The flora consists of 5 forms, 22 varieties, 238 species, 198 genera, 91 families, 47 orders, 7 classes, and 3 divisions as total 265 taxa. The typical communities were Osmunda japonica com., Stephanandra incisa com., Gleichenia japonica com., Eurya japonica-Pinus thunbergii com., Styrax japonica-Pinus thunbergii com., and Smilax china com. which were distributed along Forest Bathing Area and Yangun Falls, Miscanthus sinensis for. purpurascens com., Carpinus turczaibovii var. coreana com and Pseudosasa japonica were distributed around the top of mountain. According to the ecological characteristic species, the evergreen plants were observed 15 taxa 14 genera 13 families, the naturalized plants 18 taxa 17 genera 10 families, the specific plants categorized by Ministry of Environment 20 taxa 18 genera 18 families, the endangered plant 1 specie Utricularia yakusimensis, and the cultivated plants were observed 21 taxa 18 genera 14 families.

식용 버섯류의 무기물 함량 (Studies on the Mineral Content of Edible Mushrooms)

  • To investigate on the trace element content of twelve edible mushrooms and Aloe arborescens, i. e., Lentinus edodes, Ganoderma lucidum (culturing in wood and soil), Tricholoma matsutake, Agaricus bisporus, Cyrophora esculenta, Auricularia auricula-Jude (produced in Korea and China), Sarcodon asparatus, Pleurotus ostreatus, Coriolus versicolor, Smilax rotundifolia and Aloe arborescerts were analyzed by Atomic absorption spectrometer. The obtained results were summerized as follows: 1. Potassium, sodium, magnesium and iron content for the most part samples were in large quantities, especially phosphorus content of those was highest ammount for the all samples. 2. Sodium content was much ammount in the Lentinus edodes (39mg) and Ganoderma lucidurn (20 mg), Culturing in wood and soil, while potassium was very high ammount in the Aloe arborescens and other samples. Mush ammount of magnesium as compared with others was Lentinus edodes (144mg), Ganoderma lucidurn (128mg), Aloe arborescerts (50mg) and pleurotus ostreatus (60mg). Phosphorus content of Ganoderma lucidurn, Lentinus edodes, Gyrophora esculenta, Auricularia polytricha and Agaricus bisporus was much ammount while iron content of all samples equality higher ammount. Sodium content of Aloe arborescens was not analyzed out for almost all, its potassium (82mg), magnesium (50mg) and iron (18rng) content comparatively higher quentity than others minerals and phosphorus volume (4.9mg) as compared with others, was conspicuously lower detect. 4. Cadimium and lead content of harmful metal element were detected on trace quentity for the most part samples 5. Organic acids of samples i.e., Legtinus edodes, Agaricus bisporus, Pleurotus ostreatus and Ganoderma lucidum were Citrate, Malate, Fumalate, Succinate, Oxalate, Acetate, Lactate, and Tartarate and Citrate, Malate and Fumarate contents were higher amount remarkbly than other organic acids. Tartarate content was trace amount.

RCP 8.5 시나리오를 이용하여 온량지수에 따른 천안시 적응 가능한 식물종 연구 (The Study of Adaptable Plant Species according to Warmth Index using RCP 8.5 Scenarios in Cheonan-Si)

  • This study was proposed to adaptable species according to climate change using warmth index(WI) in Cheonan-Si. RCP 8.5 was used to estimate change of warmth index(WI) depending on climate change in Cheonan-Si. Climatic change of Cheonan-Si was estimated to change from cool temperate forest central zone to warm temperate forest zone. The following plant species will survive within WI change of Cheonan-Si from 2010 to 2050 : 18 species in the tree layer including Quercus serrata, Q. variabilis, Pinus densiflora, Q. acutissima etc.; 28 species in the shrub layer including Rhus trichocarpa, Lindera obtusiloba, Zanthoxylum schinifolium etc.; 24 species in the herb layer including Oplismenus undulatifolius, Carex lanceolata, etc.; 12 species in the vine plants including Smilax china, Cocculus trilobus, etc.
