For quite a long time various researches and developments of superconducting magnetic energy storage(SMES) device for enhancement of power quality control of sensitive electric toad. This paper describes the design, fabrication and experimental results for the 3MJ SMES magnet made by using the design code of a SMES device that we developed. A computer code was developed to find the parameters of the SMES magnet which has minimum amount of superconductors for the same stored energy, and the 3MJ SMES magnet was designed based upon that.

Although several studies show close relationships between social capitals and their performances, a little is known about specific social capitals and their effects on organizational culture and behaviour leading to their innovative outcomes within small and medium sized enterprises(: SMEs). This study examines some dimensions of social capitals and their influences on creating innovative culture and employees' behaviour. The importance of these are regarded as an imperative for SMEs to overcome the inequality of financial leverage and competitive power over resources. For the empirical analysis, survey data were collected from 51 domestic SMEs and analyzed by partial least squares(: PLS) that is one of popular structural modeling and multi-variate projection techniques to latent variables. The findings confirm a positive support of social capitals and their influences on the innovative culture and bahaviour. This result implies that managing the capability of social capitals is important for SMEs to develop the innovative culture and bahaviour and create a competitive advantage.

Industry convergence is the inexorable trend, which has become a fundamental concept to understand the industrial dynamics and to develop business strategies. However, most of the previous studies on convergence have dealt with the issues at the macro-level (technology- or industry-level), little attention has been paid to the analysis of convergence at the micro level (firm-level). Recognizing that firms are the principal agents that develop fusion technologies, it is encouraged to help firms to work together for technology convergence. Therefore, this research proposes a collaboration model for SMEs, since SMEs tend to have novel ideas and are flexible enough to make fusion-technology. To do this, we conducted a survey for Korean SMEs and analyzed their successful cases of collaboration, which was used as a basis to develop the model. The research results will help develop strategy or policy to promote the collaboration between SMEs and ultimately to make a fusion-technology.

The superconducting magnetic energy storage (SMES) system which has characteristics of high efficiency and rapid response is a way to maximize a utility's generation and transmission capacity. But SMES is required for much capital and operating cost. Therefore, It is important to determine the optimal size of SMES for constructing and operating. In this paper, we proposed a method of determinating an optimal size of a large scale of SMES for energy storage and a small scale of SMES for stabilizing power system.

E-business enables SMEs to reduce transaction costs and maintain export competitiveness in rapidly changing overseas markets. It is required to raise the entrepreneurial awareness of e-business of exporting SMEs. This study examines the characteristics of enterprises that play an important role in the introduction and utilization of e-business by domestic export SMEs. It explores the mechanisms that search and exploit these opportunities in an entrepreneurial way, and examines the process leading to export performance. We conducted a survey for empirical analysis and analyzed the data from 316 companies using e-business in Korea. As a result, both the international entrepreneurial orientation and the IT competence tended to be significant for the perception of e-business entrepreneurs and showed a different pattern in terms of size of influence. In addition, cooperation and operation among e-business entrepreneurs' perceptions have a direct impact on the export performance of SMEs.

Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are increasingly using ERP systems to connect and manage all their functions, whether internally between the different departments, or externally with customers in electronic commerce. However, the selection of the right ERP system is usually an issue, due to the complexities of identifying the criteria, weighting them, and selecting the best system and provider. Because cost is usually important for SMEs, ERP systems based on Cloud Software as a Service (SaaS) has been adopted by many SMEs. However, SMEs face an issue of selecting the right system. Therefore, this paper proposes a fuzziness ranking engine system in order to match the SMEs requirements with the most suitable service provider. The extensive experimental result shows that our approach has better result compared with traditional approaches.

Although more than 99% of all Korean companies are small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which accounts for a large part of the national economy, they are having difficulties in securing information protection capabilities due to problems such as budget and manpower. On the other hand, as 97% of cyber incidents are concentrated in SMEs, it is urgent to strengthen the information protection management and response capabilities of SMEs. Although the government is promoting company-wide information security consulting for SMEs, the need for supplementing it's procedures and consulting items is being raised. Based on the results of information security consulting supported by the government in 2020, this study attempted to derive improvement plans by interviewing SME workers, information security consultants, and system operators. Through the research results, it is expected to create a basis for SMEs to autonomously check the information security management system and contribute to the reference of related policies.

The electrical insulation design of 600 kJ conduction cooled high-Tc superconducting magnetic energy storage (SMES) have been studied in this paper. The high voltage is applied to both ends of magnet of high-Tc SMES by quench or energy discharge. Therefore. the insulation design of the high voltage needs for commercialization. stability. reliability and so on. In this study. we analyzed the insulation composition of a high-Tc SMES. and investigated about the insulation characteristics of the materials such as Kapton. AIN. $Al_2O_3$. GFRP and vacuum in cryogenic temperature. Base on these results. the insulation design for 600 kJ conduction cooled high-Tc SMES was performed.

Recently, although many firms conduct open innovation through collaboration with other innovation actors, little attention has been paid to research and case study with regard to SMEs. However, since the capability of SMEs is too insufficient to access external resources and collaborate with other firms, SMEs have practical needs for active open innovation. In addition, although a lot of SMEs depend on external resources in terms of distribution, services and sales, most of open innovation-related research concentrate on R&D and production. Therefore, this research aims at presenting various types, methods and policy to stimulate the open innovation of SMEs. Typical types of open innovation which SMEs can take will be identified and then a relevant open innovation type will be matched on the basis of the characteristics of sectors. The results of this research will be helpful for policy makers to promote open innovation in SMEs.

Many scholars have addressed the technological convergence of small-medium sized firms in Korea and their impact on the economic growth of nation. Nevertheless, most studies have been investigated the relationship between entrepreneurship and venture creation, and a few studies have analyzed the innovation and technological convergence of SMEs. The purpose of this research is to gain industrial insight into the technological convergence and to suggest a dynamic growth policy for entrepreneurs of SMEs to improve their convergence performance based on IT and BT. Therefore, we intend to propose solutions to these key questions in convergence such as; what are the key patterns in the process of technological convergence of SMEs on IT and BT, and what kinds of strategy do their need? In order to answer these research questions, we adopt network analysis using patent citation information. Results of network analysis revealed that building ecosystem based on government and universities is one of the most important factors for the future growth of SMEs in Korea. Also, the fit between technological convergence direction of SMEs and division of convergence structure of government and universities will be positively associated with dynamic growth of SMEs in Korea. In conclusion, this research extends the current studies on important aspects of SMEs in the technological convergence process by proposing their growth in convergence process to a newly converging context, IT and BT, and shed light on the integrative perspectives of crucial roles of SMEs on innovation performance in the IT and BT technological convergence.
