Effects of Parent-Child Attachment, Parental Involvement in Child-Rearing and Instruction for Children's Effective Use of Smart Devices on Young Children's Smart-Device Overuse Behavior (부모의 자녀애착, 양육 참여 및 스마트기기 사용지도가 유아의 스마트기기 과다 사용에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examined how parent-child attachment, parental involvement in child rearing and instruction for children's effective use of a smart device reflect on young children's smart device overuse behavior. We collected questionnaires from 196 parents with children attending early childhood education institutions for the survey. Frequency analysis as well as Person correlation coefficient and regression analysis were conducted using IBM SPSS 21.0 statistics. The results showed that 91% of targeted young children were using a smart device and 78% first used them before age 5. As for time of use hours, 43.9% used their smart device from 30 minutes to 1 hour on average. In addition, parent-child attachment and father's involvement in child rearing were found to be inversely correlated to young children's smart device overuse. The result of hierarchical regression analysis on parent factors influencing young children's smart device overuse behavior indicated that mothers' contact-seeking behavior to young children, mother's involvement in learning and instruction for children's effective use of a smart device at home had beneficial effects. This study analyzed parent factors that influenced young children's smart device overindulgence. In addition, the baseline data of this study will be utilized to develop programs for the prevention and therapy to solve the smart device overindulgence as well as to establish young children's guidelines for using a smart device.

  • 본 논문은 스마트 홈에서 베이지안 네트워크에 기반을 둔 보편성을 가지는 상황인식 시스템의 구현방법을 제안한다. 상호정보를 사용하여 베이지안 네트워크의 구조 학습을 하고, 보다 효율적인 데이터 처리를 위해서 퍼지 클러스터링을 사용하는 방법을 도입한다. 마지막으로 시뮬레이터를 통하여 자료 취득 및 상황인식의 결과를 보인다.

A Study of Power Line Communication-based Smart Outlet System Expandable at Home

  • Unprecedented attention is being given to Smart Grid, Micro Grid and Internet of Things (IoT) in the Republic of Korea recently but such systems' effect is not well experienced by the market since they require additional and costly reforms for the existing household electrical system where adaptive communication platforms are needed. As such platforms, both wireless and wire communication technologies are being considered at the moment. Usually, they include WiFi, Zigbee technologies and the latter, LAN technology. However, communication speed decline due to signal attenuation and interference during wireless communications are considered to be the major problem and the extra works involving time and costs for the LAN system construction can be another demerit. Therefore, in this paper, we have introduced a Power Line Communication-based Smart Outlet System Expandable at Home to complement these disadvantages. Proposed IoT system involves Power Line Communication (PLC) technology which is essential to constructing a Smart Grid.

Consumer Acceptance Model of Smart Clothing according to Innovation

  • This study identified the appropriateness of acceptance models of smart clothing and differences in the hypothesis of the path to clothing acceptance by classifying consumers depending on the level of technology innovation and fashion innovation through the extended TAM (Technology Acceptance Model) presented by Chae (2009). 815 copies of data were collected from adults over twenty living in major South Korean cities and analyzed them using a SPSS 15.0 and AMOS 5.0 package. Based on the average value of technology innovation and fashion innovation, the respondents were classified into: Group 1 with high technology innovation and fashion innovation, Group 2 with high technology innovation but low fashion innovation, Group 3 with low technology innovation but high fashion innovation, and Group 4 with low technology innovation and fashion innovation. The appropriateness of models for the four classified groups was verified. The analysis proved that an extended TAM for each classified group explains the acceptance process of smart clothing; especially the appropriateness of model of Group 1 and Group 4 was comparatively higher than other groups. Perceived usefulness was revealed as the key variable that affects consumer attitudes to accept smart clothing. Perceived ease of use has indirect positive effects on consumer attitudes passing through perceived usefulness and clothing involvement partly exerted impacts on consumer attitudes and the intention of acceptance. The mediating role of attitudes to explain the intention of the acceptance of smart clothing is high and suggests that it is necessary to take a positive role to help the consumer perceive the functional and useful aspects of the clothing.
