Research on Safe Application Program of Smart Phone for Auto Receiving and Answering during a Car Driving (자동차 운전 중 자동 응답 및 확인을 위한 스마트 폰 안전 애플리케이션의 연구)

  • This paper designs and implements a smart phone safe application program for advanced preventing a danger during a car driving with doing a smart phone. The proposed smart phone safe application program has the aim to increase easily and naturally the concentration when the driver is using of the smart phone during a car driving. Especially when sudden situation occurs, If driver gives up driving conditions, and go to the restaurant, move to tourist resort. It will continue to send the text of driving even if another person is on the phone. In this paper a traffic safety simulation was performed using a fuzzy inference rules in order to solve these problem. The simulation is predicted greatly to decrease to send the auto sending message when the driver gives up suddenly the driving because catching up whether the car is driving or not.

Safe Driving Inducement Effect Analysis of Smart Delineator through Driving Simulation Evaluation (도로 주행 시뮬레이션 평가를 통한 스마트 델리네이터의 안전운전 유도 효과분석)

  • Assuming a completed Smart Highway road & communication environment that allows real-time information collection and transmission of road traffic condition ahead, the purpose of this study is to develop a plan for inducing a network-level safe driving pattern by providing road traffic condition and safety information to multiple drivers through a road information provision device. In this study, the device with a function that displays different colors according to the hazard level to the existing delineator has been named 'Smart Delineator'. Smart Delineator is a device that provides not only alignment information but also safety information for drivers to receive real-time warning information and intuitively recognize road traffic condition ahead so that drivers can respond. To examine the effects of safety driving inducement level on drivers, a simulation test was conducted using driving simulator as well as a satisfaction survey. The result showed that the Smart Delineator was able to identify the location of occurrence and affecting driving according pattern, either adhering to recommended speed or reducing speed according to the pre-defined hazard level.

A Study on Measures to Reduce Traffic Accidents caused by Using Smartphones While Driving (운전 중 스마트폰 사용으로 인한 교통사고 저감대책 연구)

  • The purpose of the study focuses on increasing dangers of using smartphones while driving recently, and then is to come up with measures to reduce traffic accidents caused by using devices like a smartphone. This study conducted a survey of drivers using their smartphones while driving to understand risks caused by using a smartphones while operating vehicles. Results showed that a lot of activities may lead to distracted driving, such as texting, making phone calls, using GPS or road maps, game, etc. In this paper, we presented that functions of smartphone should be controlled partially while driving for safe driving performance. These results suggest that using IoT-based smart devices like a beacon and a smartphone application implemented, tentatively called "Safe driving solution", while driving can reduce traffic accidents. Thus, in order to effectively prevent dangerous driving due to the use of smartphones, a "Safe driving solution" which restricts all functions except for calls and driver assistance functions is suggested.

  • Deep reinforcement learning(RL) is an end-to-end data-driven control method that is widely used in the autonomous driving domain. However, conventional RL approaches have difficulties in applying it to autonomous driving tasks due to problems such as inefficiency, instability, and uncertainty. These issues play an important role in the autonomous driving domain. Although recent studies have attempted to solve these problems, they are computationally expensive and rely on special assumptions. In this paper, we propose a new algorithm MCDT that considers inefficiency, instability, and uncertainty by introducing a method called uncertainty sequence modeling to autonomous driving domain. The sequence modeling method, which views reinforcement learning as a decision making generation problem to obtain high rewards, avoids the disadvantages of exiting studies and guarantees efficiency, stability and also considers safety by integrating uncertainty estimation techniques. The proposed method was tested in the OpenAI Gym CarRacing environment, and the experimental results show that the MCDT algorithm provides efficient, stable and safe performance compared to the existing reinforcement learning method.

Development of Smart Wheelchair System and Navigation Technology For Stable Driving Performance In Indoor-Outdoor Environments (실내외 환경에서 안정적인 자율 주행을 위한 스마트 휠체어 시스템 및 주행 기술 개발)

  • In the present study, as part of the technology development (Quality of Life Technology, QoLT) to improve the socio-economic status of people with disabilities as an extension of these studies, we propose the development of the smart wheelchair system and navigation technology for stable and safe driving in various environments. For the disabled and the elderly make driving easy and convenient with manual/autonomous driving condition, we firstly develop the user-oriented smart wheelchair system with optimized sensors for environment recognition, and then we propose a navigation framework of a hierarchical structure to ensure real-time response, as well as driving stability when traveling to various environmental changes, and to enable a more efficient operation. From the result of several independent experiments, we ensure efficiency and safety of smart wheelchair and its navigation system.

  • There are still problems have to solve for safety of driving comparing to the upgraded convenience of advanced vehicle. Most traffic accident is by uncareful driving cause of interface operations which are directive reasons of it in controlling the complicate multimedia device. According to interesting in smart automobile, various approaches for safe driving have been studied. The current multimedia interface embedded in vehicle is lacking the safety due to loss the sense and operation capacity by instantaneous view movement. In this paper, we propose a safe dialing system for safe driving to control dial and search dictionary by hand-gesture. The proposed system improved the user convenience and safety in automobile operation using intuitive gesture and TTS(Text to Speech).

  • With the recent expansion of electric kickboards and bicycle sharing services, more and more people use them. In addition, the rapid growth of the delivery business due to the COVID-19 has significantly increased the use of two-wheeled vehicles and personal mobility. As the accident rate increases, the rule related to the two-wheeled vehicles is changed to 'mandatory helmets for kickboards and single-person transportation' and was revised to prevent boarding itself without driver's license. In this paper, we propose a wearable smart safety equipment, called SafetyHelmet, that can keep helmet-wearing duty and lower the accident rate with the communication between helmets and mobile devices. To make this function available, we propose a safe driving assistance function by notifying the driver when an object that interferes with driving such as persons or other vehicles are detected by applying the YOLO v5 object detection algorithm. Therefore it is intended to provide a safer driving assistance by reducing the failure rate to identify dangers while driving single-person transportation.

  • The purpose of this study was to propose a functional improvement solution of integrated control board for safe driving of Smart electric wheelchair for a single person. In the case of existing electric wheelchair products in Korea and elsewhere, safety-related functions or devices are not included in many cases. Therefore, the incidence of electric wheelchair-related accidents is continuously increasing in the current situation in which the elderly and the disabled people have been continuously increased. However, currently only high and middle-priced products are equipped with basic safety devices in electric wheelchairs, so low-priced products require safety related functions. Therefore, sensing obstacles that the user can not recognize while moving an electric wheelchair and detecting automatically the terrain change to control the motor by developing a smart control platform. This provides an integrated control board that can be applied to various electric wheelchairs for more stable driving.

  • Securing transportation safety infrastructure technology for Lv.4 connected autonomous driving is very important for the spread of autonomous vehicles, and the safe operation of level 4 autonomous vehicles in adverse weather has limitations due to the development of vehicle-only technology. We developed the radar-enabled AI convergence transportation entities detection system. This system is mounted on fixed and mobile supports on the road, and provides excellent autonomous driving situation recognition/determination results by converging transportation entities information collected from various monitoring sensors such as 60GHz radar and EO/IR based on artificial intelligence. By installing such a radar-enabled AI convergence transportation entities detection system on an autonomous road, it is possible to increase driving efficiency and ensure safety in adverse weather. To secure competitive technologies in the global market, the development of four key technologies such as ① AI-enabled transportation situation recognition/determination algorithm, ② 60GHz radar development technology, ③ multi-sensor data convergence technology, and ④ AI data framework technology is required.

  • In this paper, we propose the information acquisition and analysis system for a vehicle driver in order to provide the safe driving environments. We first define the list of reckless driving behaviors and propose the recognition system, which recognizes the reckless behaviors, by using the acquired information. The collaboration among the information acquisition, the analysis, and the behavior comparison modules increases the accuracy of the recognition rate. Our system alarms to a vehicle driver in order to notify the potential to confront the dangerous situation due to the abnormal or reckless driving behaviors.
