  • Properties of each layer in DSSC were investigated to improve solar cell characterstics. Also in this study, low costsolar simulator system is fabricated and used. Efficiency of DSSC is better in the case of thinner semiconductive layer, because thick semiconductive layer is acted as resistor. Sc-doped ZnO thin films showed better electrical property by proper donor doping effect. Among the dyes, DSSC containing N719 showed higher efficiency, because N719 have smaller electron affinity and shallow band gap.

화재용 중저압 물분무 노즐의 분무특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Spray Characteristics of Water Mist Nozzle with Mid-low Pressure for Fire Suppression)

  • The present study investigates the spray characteristics of water mist nozzle with mid-low pressure for fire suppression. The examined nozzle types are swirl and spiral nozzle. The result shows that K factor of water mist nozzle is much smaller than those of general sprinkler. Spray angle of spiral nozzle is largest and more than $150^{\circ}$. SMD(Sauter Mean Diameter) of water mist nozzles is ranged between 100 and 200$\mu\textrm{m}$through measuring by image processing method. The spray pattern of spiral nozzle represent that water flux of first stream is 2 times larger than that of second stream. This study will contribute better understandings of the water-mist spray characteristics and useful daia for developing the water-mist nozzles.

고강도강재의 고온인장특성 및 용접시 잔류응력특징에 관한 연구 (A Study on the High Temperature Tensile Property and the Characteristics of Residual Stress in Welds of High Strength Steels)

  • In this study, high temperature tensile properties of high strength steels(POSTEN60, POSTEN80) were investigated. The three-dimensional thermal elastic-plastic analyses were conducted to investigate the characteristics of welding residual stresses in welds of high strength steels on the basis of thermal and mechanical properites at high temperature obtained from the experiment. According to the results, high temperature tensile strength of POSTEN60 steel deteriorated slowly to 10$0^{\circ}C$. As the temperature went up, the tensile strength became better because of blue shortness, and it deteriorated radically after reaching to the maximum value around 30$0^{\circ}C$. For the POSTEN80 steel, high temperature tensile strength deteriorated slowly to 20$0^{\circ}C$. As the temperature went up the tensile strength became better and it deteriorated slowly to $600^{\circ}C$ after reached to the maximum value around 30$0^{\circ}C$. Strain of high strength steels at the elevated temperature increased radically after the mercury rose to $600^{\circ}C$. The strain hardening ratio of POSTEN60 steel was larger then that of POSTEN80 steel at the elevated temperature as in the case at the room temperature and it became smaller radically after the mercury rose to 40$0^{\circ}C$.   • We studied the effect of an Al underlayer on the growth of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and their field emission characteristics, First of all, CNTs were grown on the Invar catalyst layers with different thickness of 1 to 10 nm, showing that the CNT length was saturated for the catalyst 5 nm or thicker. The CNTs grown on the 5-nm-thick catalyst were ${\sim}10{\mu}m$ long and ${\sim}30nm$ in diameter. Second, an Al underlayer was applied between the catalyst layer and the Ti diffusion barrier to reduce the diameters of CNTs for better field emission properties by forming spherical Al oxide particles on which smaller catalyst nanoparticles would occur. The optimal thickness of an Al underlayer underneath the 5-nm-thick catalyst was ${\sim}15nm$, producing the CNTs with the length of ${\sim}15{\mu}m$ and the diameter of ${\sim}15nm$. The field emission measurements, following the tape activation, showed that the thinner and longer CNTs gave rise to better field emission performance with the lower turn-on and threshold electric fields.

백미와 현미 쌀빵의 특성 비교 (Comparison of Some Characteristics Relevant to Rice Bread Processing between Brown and Milled Rice)

  • 벼 8품종의 현미와 백미로 쌀빵을 제조하여 쌀빵가공성에 대한 벼 품종간 및 현 백미간 비교를 실시하고 관련특성간 상관관계를 살펴 보았다. 벼 품종간에는 제빵성의 차이가 있으나 현미와 백미간에는 유의한 차이가 없었다. 그러나 품종에 따라서는 현미와 백미간에 쌀빵특성의 현저한 차이를 나타내었다. 찰벼 품종인 한강찰벼는 백미로는 쌀빵의 제조가 불가능하였으나 현미로는 다른 어떤 품종 보다도 제빵성이 우수한 결과를 얻었다. 메벼 품종들 중에서는 AC 27, IR 44, 수원조가 백미의 제빵성이 우수하였고, 이 세 품종을 제외하고는 모두 백미보다 현미로 쌀빵을 만들 경우 가공특성이 좋은 경향이 있었다. 쌀의 일반성분 및 쌀빵의 제 특성 간의 상관성을 현미와 백미에 대해 별도로 살펴보면, 현미의 경우에는 부피 증가율이 큰 쌀빵 반죽일수록 푹신한 감이 있는 쌀빵 제조가 가능하였고, 촉촉한 쌀빵일수록 부드럽고 응집성이 높은 경향이었다. 백미의 경우에는 단백질 함량이 낮을수록 촉촉한 느낌의 쌀빵이 되는 경향이었으며, 지질함량이 높을수록 기공의 크기가 작고 균일하며 탄력성이 적은 쌀빵이 제조되는 경향이 있었다 또한 쌀빵 성형이 양호할수록 경도 및 씹힘성이 낮은 부드러운 빵이되는 경향이었으며, 기공의 크기가 균일할수록 기공의 크기가 작으면서 푹신한 감이나 탄력성이 낮은 빵이 되는 경향이었다.

표면 특성에 따른 휜-관 열교환기의 제상 거동에 관한 연구 (A study of defrosting behavior according to surface characteristics in a fin-tube heat exchanger)

  • In this study, the defrosting behaviors according to the surface characteristics in the fin-tube heat exchanger is experimentally examined. It is found that the draining rate of the hydrophilic and hydrophobic heat exchangers are evenly dispersed during defrosting, compared with that of the bare one. It is caused by the high density frost for the hydrophilic heat exchanger, and surface characteristic for the hydrophobic heat exchanger, respectively. The rest period of the hydrophilic and hydrophobic heat exchangers are shorter and their weight of residual water are smaller than those of the bare heat exchanger The hydrophilic and hydrophobic heat exchangers are more effective than the bare one in terms of defrosting efficiency, and the hydrophobic heat exchanger is better than the hydrophilic one.

한 쌍의 실린더를 가지는 점성구동 마이크로 펌프의 성능 해석 (Performance Analysis of the Viscous-driven Micropump with Tandem Rotating Cylinders)

  • Since the viscous effect increases as the size of device decreases, viscous-driven micropump is a promising mechanism in microscale applications. In the present study, a dual-rotor type pump which contains two counter-rotating cylinders for improving performance characteristics is proposed. First, for flows in the single-rotor type pump, the present unstructured grid simulation method is validated by comparing its results to the previous results. Next, the performance of the dual-rotor type pump is evaluated by the parametric studies and is compared to that of the previous single-rotor type pump. The flow characteristics are qualitatively similar to those of single-rotor type pump. However, the performance of the micropump with tandem rotors is still better than that of previous pumping type, e.g. much larger flow rate, smaller driving region, higher efficiency, and wider operation range.

Effects of some factors on the thermal-dissipation characteristics of high-power LED packages

  • Decreasing the thermal resistance is the critical issue for high-brightness light-emitting diodes. In this paper, the effects of some design factors, such as chip size (24 and 35 mil), substrate material (AlN and high-temperature co-fired ceramic), and die-attach material (Ag epoxy and PbSn solder), on the thermal-dissipation characteristics were investigated. Using the thermal transient method, the temperature sensitivity parameter, $R_{th}$ (thermal resistance), and junction temperature were estimated. The 35-mil chip showed better thermal dissipation, leading to lower thermal resistance and lower junction temperature, owing to its smaller heat source density compared with that of the 24-mil chip. By adopting an AlN substrate and a PbSn solder, which have higher thermal conductivity, the thermal resistance of the 24-mil chip can be decreased and can be made the same as that of the 35-mil chip.

  • We have been developing a solar observing system based on a fast CCD camera 1M30P made by the DALSA company. Here we examine and present the characteristics and performance of the camera. For this we have analyzed a number of images of a flat wall illuminated by a constant light source. As a result we found that in the default operating mode 1) the mean bias level is 49 ADU/pix, 2) the mean dark current is about 8 ADU /s/pix, 3) the readout noise is 1.3 ADU, and 4) the gain is about 42 electrons/ ADU. The CCD detector is found to have a linearity with a deviation smaller than $6\%$, and a uniform sensitivity better than $1\%$. These parameters will be used as basic inputs in the analysis of data to be taken by the camera.

서울시내 일부 근로자들의 치과 선택요인에 관한 연구 (A study on the factors related to the choice of dental clinics for worker in Seoul)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to examine the awareness of company employees. The importance of the selection factors of dental clinics by demographic characteristics. Methods : The subjects of this study was 218 employees. In this study, structured were used. Results : As for perception of the importance of traffic convenience by general characteristics, the company employees who were male, who were married, who had children, who continued to work for a longer period and who were better paid placed more significance on traffic convenience among the selection factors of dental institutions, and the gaps between them and their counterparts were significant. Regarding perception of the importance of the physical environments of dental institutions by general characteristics, those who were in their 20s and in their 50s and up, who were less educated, who worked for a smaller period and who were less paid gave more weight on the importance of physical environments, and the gaps between them and their counterparts were significant. As to perception of the importance of the image of dental institutions by general characteristics, monthly pay made a significant difference to that. Concerning the external qualifications of dental personnels, they took a significantly different view according to their age and monthly pay. In relation to perception of the importance of dental service by general characteristics, the women attached more importance to dental service than the men, and the intergroup gap was significant. In regard to perception of the importance of the basic components of dental institutions by general characteristics, those who were in their 40s and up, who had children, who were better paid and who were assistant directors were significantly different from their counterparts in their opinions on the importance of the basic components of dental institutions. Conclusions : The findings of the study suggest that dental institutions should make efforts to provide patients with the best medical service to gain their confidence.
