n the ballscrew slide system the ~najor problems in accomplishing the high-speed and high-precision are the friction between elements and the decrease of axial stiffness. Especially the friction on the guide have a bad effect on the precision of slidlng. Furthermore stick-slip occur when the low stiffness of slide system. The sticli-slip have a bad influence on the precision. In this research, the affection of stick-slip friction to the precision of the slide system is studied and the possible solution of the precision is proixjsed.

The objective of this paper was to investigate the slip rate and the slip frequency number of damper clutch of torque converter in 2.4L passenger vehicle with 5-speed A/T and analyze the effect of slip control and control strategy on driving characteristics and the fuel economy. The newly developed torque converter with the more durable wet friction material and the slip-controlled damper clutch system, the DCC system, was installed, which was easily compatible and amendable of the lock-up clutch of the base system. The vehicle has been tested on the fuel economy modes such as FTP-75, HWFET and NEDC (ECE15+EUDC) driving cycle at chassis dynamometer. The DCC mode (II), of which the control strategy had both the lock-up and the slip-controlled clutch, and the DCC mode (I) with full slip-controlled clutch were compared with the base system with only the lock-up clutch. As the research result, comparison to base system, the fuel consumption of the vehicle with the DCC control (II) was effectively improved by 6.6% and 7.7% on FTP-75 and NEDC mode.
Background: Increasing the slip resistance of floor surfaces would be desirable, but there is a lack of evidence on whether traction properties are linearly correlated with the topographic features of the floor surfaces or what scales of surface roughness are required to effectively control the slipperiness of floors. Objective: This study expands on earlier findings on the effects of floor surface finishes against slip resistance performance and determines the operative ranges of floor surface roughness for optimal slip resistance controls under different risk levels of walking environments. Methods: Dynamic friction tests were conducted among three shoes and nine floor specimens under wet and oily environments and compared with a soapy environment. Results: The test results showed the significant effects of floor surface roughness on slip resistance performance against all the lubricated environments. Compared with the floor-type effect, the shoe-type effect on slip resistance performance was insignificant against the highly polluted environments. The study outcomes also indicated that the oily environment required rougher surface finishes than the wet and soapy ones in their lower boundary ranges of floor surface roughness. Conclusion: The results of this study with previous findings confirm that floor surface finishes require different levels of surface coarseness for different types of environmental conditions to effectively manage slippery walking environments. Collected data on operative ranges of floor surface roughness seem to be a valuable tool to develop practical design information and standards for floor surface finishes to efficiently prevent pedestrian fall incidents.
In the present numerical analysis, investigation of the effect of blade loadings from design shape on the slip factor variation was studied. Both the Eckardt radial bladed impeller and the backswept impeller were analyzed. In addition, a new design of the blade profile was arbitrarily attempted to generate a center-loading pattern in the original backswept impeller. Three dimensional compressible Navier-Stokes flow analysis with the Baldwin-Lomax turbulence model was applied to get the numerical slip factor at each impeller exit plane using the mass-averaging technique. The numerical slip (actors are in good agreement with the experimental ones and the Wiesner's slip factors deviate further from the numerical and experimental ones in both backswept impellers. Deviation angles and meridional channel loadings are found in no relation with the trend of change of the slip factor. Blade-to-blade loadings in midspan location are, however, found to have a direct relationship, especially at the sections where maximum loadings we to be expected. That information can be utilized in establishing an improved expression for slip factors in the future.
Bond-slip behavior between reinforcement and concrete under push-pull cyclic loadings is numerically investigated based on a reinforcement model proposed in this paper. The equivalent reinforcing steel model considering the bond-slip effect without taking double nodes is derived through the equilibrium at each node of steel and the compatibility condition between steel and concrete. Besides a specific transformation algorithm is composed to transfer the forces and displacements from the nodes of the steel element to the nodes of the concrete element. This model first results in an effective use in the case of complex steel arrangements where the steel elements cross the sides of the concrete elements and second turns the impossibility into a possibility in consideration of the bond-slip effect in three dimensional finite element analysis. Finally, the correlation studies between numerical and experimental results under the continuously repeated large deformation stages demonstrate the validity of developed reinforcing steel model and adopted algorithms.
This paper presents a study of the effect of varying the roll gap of oval pass in round-oval-round pass sequence on the interracial slip of workpiece, entrance and exit velocities, stresses and roll load that the workpiece experiences during rolling, by applying analytical method, finite element simulation and verification through hot bar rolling tests. The results have shown that the roll gap variation of oval pass affects the interfacial slip of workpiece along the groove contact and the specific roll pressure. The optimum conditions in terms of minimum interfacial slip and minimum specific roll pressure, which might influence the maximum groove life, is obtained when the subsequent round pass is completely filled.

An analytical procedure to analyze reinforced concrete (RC) frame subject to cyclic as well as monotonic loadings is proposed on the basis of the layered section method. In contrast to the classical nonlinear approaches adopting the perfect bond assumption, the bond-slip effect along the reinforcing bar is quantified with the force equilibrium and compatibility condition at the post-cracking stage and its contribution is implemented into the reinforcing. The advantage of the proposed analytical procedure, therefore, will be on the consideration of the bond-slip effect while using the classical layered section method without additional consideration such as taking the double nodes. Through correlation studies between experimental data and analytical results, it is verified that the proposed analytical procedure can effectively simulate the cracking behavior of RC beams, columns and Frame accompanying the stiffness degradation caused by the bond-slip.
Three dimensional numerical study was carried out to investigate the effect of aspect ratio on microchannel flow. We considered five straight rectangular channels with aspect ratios (height/width) 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.0. Nitrogen gas flow was investigated for both slip and noslip wall boundary conditions. Isothermal wall condition was assumed. We used control volume method for this simulation. The slip velocity increases with the increase of aspect ratio. Friction coefficient decreases with the increase of aspect ratio. Slip friction coefficient is lower than noslip friction coefficient. Mass flow rate of slip model is higher than that of noslip model. We compared our results with the experimental result reported in the literature. The agreement was good.
Based on Hamilton's principle, the flexural vibration differential equations and boundary conditions of the steel-concrete composite beam (SCCB) with comprehensive consideration of the influences of the shear deformation, interface slip and longitudinal inertia of motion were derived. The analytical natural frequencies of flexural vibration were compared with available results previously observed by the experiments, the results calculated by the FE model and the other similar beam theories available in the open literatures. The comparison results showed that, the calculation results of the analytical and Timoshenko models had a good agreement with the results of the experimental test and FE model. Finally, the influences of shear deformation and interface slip on the flexural natural frequencies of the SCCB were discussed. The shear deformation effect increases with the increase of the mode orders of flexural natural vibration, and the flexural natural frequencies of the higher mode orders ignoring the influence of shear deformations effect would be overestimated. The interface slip effect decrease with the increase of the mode orders of flexural natural vibration, and the influence of the interface slip effect on flexural natural frequencies of the low mode orders is significant. The influence of the degree of shear connection on shear deformation effect is insignificant, and the low order modes of flexural natural vibration are mainly composed of the rotational displacement of cross sections.
In order to investigate the effect o green microstructure on the sintering behavior and properties of AlN ceramics, samples were prepared by slip casting and dry pressing. The slip cast samples had high green density, fine pore size and narrow pore size distribution. They showed much higher sinterability and more homogeneous sintered microstructure compared to the dry pressed samples. Both increased thermal conductivity and flexural strength for samples prepared by slip casting could be attributed to the improved microstructural homogeneity with isolated second phase(s).
