A Study on a Leadership Skill for Cultivating Global Engineering Leaders (글로벌 공학리더를 양성하기 위한 리더십 역량 연구)

  • This study proposes content and instruction of leadership education based on the results of evaluation and analysis of leadership skill of present levels of students who registered for 'leadership development and training' course which is liberal arts elective course of the 'Accreditation Board of Engineering Education in Korea' and provides best practices to develop leadership skill and to attain academic achievement 2, 4, 6, 7 of 12 academic achievement required by KEC2005. To accomplish a purpose of the study, I divide leadership skill into technical skill, human skill and conceptual skill that suggested by Katz and then measure students' leadership skill. The contents of leadership education to develop and enforce three leadership skills are as follows. First, for developing technical skill, there is a need for systematic education of basic working experience relevant to a major field of study. Second, for developing human skill, there is a need for education of leadership, motivation, conflict management, communication, group dynamics and presentation etc. Third, for developing conceptual skill, there is a need for education of founding vision, business strategy and creative idea etc.

Development of the Elements of Teamwork Skill for Engineering Students (공학계열 학생들의 팀웍 스킬 구성요소 개발)

  • This study had a purpose to investigate elements of teamwork skill for engineering students. For this, literature review and delphi method were used. The delphi survey was conducted with 20 experts consisting of experts in engineering, education, and industry field. 22 elements of teamwork skill for engineering students were finally developed. Teamwork skill included knowledge, skill, and attitude for engineering students. Further, the results of this study present a guideline to develop teamwork skill in engineering education.

A Basic Study on the Development of Skill System for Based on Engineering Education for the Areas of Textile and Clothing (섬유 및 의복분야 공학교육 기반구축을 위한 직무체계 개발 기초연구)

  • The goal of this study is to develop a skill system for the areas of textile and clothing among the skill systems that require basic examination in the development of skill standards. More specifically, the study aims to classify skills in the areas of textile and clothing and to develop respective skill level. We classified skills and created the skill level through a study of documents, interview with experts and in-depth discussions with expert group centering on terminologies commonly used in the industrial settings. As a result of skill classification, we were able to classify skills into three categories in medium-scale classification, 10 categories in small-scale classification, and again into total 22 categories. We classified the skill level in the areas of textile and clothing into 7 stages. Based on the skill system, we provided definition of skill and skill group, definition of each different skill, and performance standard by skill and level.

A Study on Development Skill Framework and Analysis of It's Linkage to National Technical Qualification Items in Machinery Sector (기계분야 직무체계 개발과 국가기술자격종목 연계실태 분석 연구)

  • The goal of this study is an analysis on linkage system between in machinery sector. The development of skill framework and national technical qualification items. This paper researched skills and created the skill level through reviewing domestic & foreign documents, interview with experts and in-depth discussions with expert group focusing on terminologies commonly used in the industrial settings. As a result of skill classification, authors were able to classify skills into three categories in medium-scale classification and 11 categories in small-scale classification, and also into total 42 categories through the re-classification of the small-scale classification. The skill level in the area of machine were classified the skill level in the area of machine into 7 level by reflecting the level system of the korean qualification frameworks, qualification and education course, and skill level in the industrial setting. Based on the skill frameworks, we provided definition of skill and skill group, definition of each different skill, and performance standards by skill and level. also, This paper suggests improving measure of national technical qualification items through analysizing linkage situation between skill frameworks & qualification items.

  • The purpose of this study is to extract a skill level of human resource in the field of science and technology. To accomplish the goal of this study, precedent research was conducted and then, the draft of skill level for Human Resource in the field of Science and Technology (HRST) was created by wrap-up meeting. The skill level of the HRST was finalized after confirming verification of 20 SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) from January to February 2016 by two times. The conclusions are as follows; First, the skill level of the HRST consists five categories. Each of the level has educational background, work experience, certification, duty, major and so on. Second, the contents of the skill level were found to be mostly valid.

A Case Study of Soft-Skill Education (소프트스킬 함양교육 사례)

  • The skill that meets the intellectual and technical requirements in workplace is called hard skill. The counter part of it is 'softskills' which enhances an individual's interactions, job performance and career prospects. It becomes more necessary skill as society changes. In this paper we first show the demand for the softskill improvement education for engineering major students. Then we introduce a 'softskill improvement education' program developed by the "Center for innovative engineering education" in a University. The contents of the program are chosen by the needs of society, companies that hire our students, ABEEK educational objectives and consulting from professors. To improve the skills we used various activities as tools which are mentioned and introduced. The evaluation of the program results are discussed. We suggest some ways to improve the program.

An Examples Development and Implementation of Core Skill-TLP Package in Patient Management (문제중심학습 개념의 환자관리 Core Skill-TLP 교육교재 개발 및 적용)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to develop and apply a Core Skill-TLP(Core Skill-Tutorial, Laboratory, Practicum) package in Patient Management and to effect of core skill-TLP education. Methods : This study was used to developed Patient Management' Core Skill-TLP package throughout 14 steps of Core Skill-TLP package development model. Then, Core Skill-TLP Learning methodology was implemented in first year student in the undergraduate emergency medical technology, and survey was done. Results : 1. Core Skill-TLP package model was presented based on conceptual model of PBL(S-PBL). 2, The student in OSCE did significantly better in clinical patient management core skills performance. 3. As to the satisfaction of Core Skill-TLP package management, student, tutor and self-satisfaction score was 3.21, 3.42, 3.38 respectively. Conclusion : This study was suggested that Core Skill-TLP education would be necessary with well-structured package and achieved advantage of simulation and PBL.

Analysis of differences in perceptions and educational needs of university students, graduates, human resource manager on NCS basic job skill (NCS 직업기초능력에 대한 4년제 공학계열 대학생, 졸업생, 인사담당자의 인식 차이 및 교육요구도 분석)

  • This study aims to suggest implications on develop and operate NCS curriculum by analyzing of differences in perception and educational needs of university students, graduates, human resource managers(HR managers) on NCS basic job skill. The respondents of survey are composed of 533 university students in K university, 730 graduates and 106 HR managers. The major findings are as follows: first, the results showed that the importances of all competencies recognized by HR managers was higher than those of university students and graduates. And graduates perceived their level of competencies as higher than those of university students. Second, the needs for self-development skill, technical skill, and problem-solving skill was the highest within the students and graduates, meanwhile, the needs for the mathematical skill, resource management skill, and the organization understanding skill were low. In contrast, the results of this study showed that the HR managers has the high needs for self-development skill, communication skill and problem-solving skill. Also, HR managers has the low needs for mathematical skill, resource management skill, information skill, technical skill, organizational understanding skill, and job ethics. Based on the above results, we proposed the necessity to develop and apply the NCS curriculum considering the education needs recognized by current students, graduates, and HR managers.

Satisfaction of Practice and Clinical Skill in Participation Learning and Observation Learning (참여학습과 관찰학습의 실습만족도 및 임상수기술)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare satisfaction of practice and clinical skill in different participation learning and observation learning, and to offer the basic data to promote quality of nursing education. Method: The study used a quasi-experimental, nonequivalent control group post-test design. The subjects were 62 nursing students of K college in Jeonbuk, and the period of data gathering was limited from 19 Nov. 2006 to 30 Nov. 2006. Experience group was taught by hand-on education and control group was taught by conventional education. The instrument tools included self-efficacy, satisfaction of practice and clinical skill. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS-PC programme. Result: The results of this study were as follows: There was statistically a significance difference between the two group about satisfaction of practice(t=2.011 p=.043), and clinical skill(t=11.997, p=.000). Self-efficacy showed a significantly positive correlation with satisfaction of practice(r=.476, p=.000) and clinical skill(r=.178, p=.014). Also, satisfaction of practice showed a significantly positive correlation with clinical skill(r=.l82, p=.000). Conclusion: In conclusion, this study suggests that hand-on education is an effective learning method to nursing students. By utilizing hand-on education, makes nursing students plan self-directed nursing performance and improve their clinical skills.

Study on Consumer Skill and Consumer problem's Perception of the Low-income Consumer (저소득층의 소비자 기능과 소비자문제인지에 관한연구)

  • This study was mainly concerned with providing a basis of the development of low-income consumer education program. The purpose of this study was to investigate the level of their consumer skill and the degree of consumer problems' perception. For the purpose of this study, 480 questionnaire were distributed to the housewives in Seoul. The 320 data were analyzed by Frequency, Percentage, ANOVA, Duncan's Multiple Rang Test, Multiple Classification Analysis, and Pearson's Correlation . The major findings of this study were as follows; 1) The socio-demographic variables indicating significant relation to the level of consumer skill are income level, housewife's age , and housewife's education level. The independent influence of all the variables affecting consumer skill was analyzed. It result is in confirming the income as the most influential one. 20 The socio-demographic variables indicating significant relation to the degree of consumer problem's perception are income level, and housewife's education level. The independent influence of all the variables affecting consumer problem's perception was analyzed. It results in confirming the income as the most influential one. 3) Consumer skill level differs significantly at the 0.001 level, according toe the degree of consumer problems' perception. The higher level of consumer skill, the lower degree of consumer problems' perception. The result of this study implies that a consumer education should be given to the low-income consumers, on the basis of their consumer skill level. Further research regarding the consumer skill and problems ' perception of the low-income consumers should be conducted.
