  • The purpose of this study is to search effective assessments methods by using the Fusion model of Cognitive diagnosis theory. Attributes are skills or cognitive processes that are required to perform correctly on a particular item. After test items were developed, item's attributes were decided and Q-matrix about item's attributes was made. After testing, the result was analyzed according to gender and achievement level. The results of the analysis showed that students mastered 'Interpreting data' best, and 'synthesizing' worst among the five attributes. Female students showed higher ability than male students in 'recalling.' Students of high achievement level mastered more scientific attributes than students of low achievement level. Conventional assessments only provided a single summary score but Cognitive diagnosis modeling provided useful information by estimating individual knowledge states by assessing whether an examinee has mastered specific attributes measured by the science test. The skill profiles can offer a skill level of strong, weak, or mixed for each student for each skill. Therefore, the skill profiles will provide useful diagnostic information in addition to single overall scores.

  • The purpose of this longitudinal study was to investigate confidence in core basic nursing skill each period of clinical practicum and discover the changes, depending on characteristics of periods. The data was collected for 94 nursing students attending a university located in J-do from Mar. 9 to Dec. 16 2016 for 4 times in total. For data analysis, the frequency analysis, descriptive statistics and paired t-test were used. The research findings showed that confidence in core basic nursing skill by each period of clinical practicum was lowest before clinical practicum in general but gradually increased depending on lapse of time and experience of clinical practicum. However, it decreased in all items after having first clinical practicum in the $2^{nd}$ semester, compared to after first clinical practicum in the $1^{st}$ semester. In addition, the difference of confidence in core basic nursing skill between clinical practicum periods was higher after the first clinical practicum in the $1^{st}$ semester and after clinical practicum at the end of school year, compared to before clinical practicum and after the first clinical practicum in the $2^{nd}$ semester respectively. Therefore, this study suggested that it's necessary to have efficient and systematic clinical practicum education strategy, reflecting the characteristics of periods in clinical practicum in order to improve the confidence in core basic nursing skill of nursing students.

  • This thesis studied the factor of participation motives and the degree of satisfaction of the participants in culinary skill competitions and their effectiveness. In addition, this thesis has an aim to offer profitable materials on the basis of demonstrative analysis emphasizing the study on how many factors of satisfaction should be motivated by participation effect. This thesis restricted cookers within those who had participated in a cooking contest so that it could possibly measure the motive of participation and satisfaction. This thesis investigated 115 cookers by questionnaires, of which 102 available materials were used for statistical processing to perform this study. As for the periodical interval, this thesis was performed from Feb 14, 2005 to Feb 21, 2005. First, from the motive of participation, 13 variables are analyzed into 3 factors such as the factor of social recognition, the factor of speciality, and the factor of self-development & self- realization. The factor of speciality, and the factor of self-development & self-realization. The factor as a motive of participating in skill competition affects effectiveness meaningfully. Second, total three factors were extracted from the degree of satisfaction which consisted of 13 variables. They included the psychological satisfaction and satisfaction with the judges in competitions. One limitation of this study is that the population of the survey was limited to those who had participated in a contest. Thus, the findings of this study may not be generalizable for other cases. It is clear that further research is needed to collect more in-dept data from other similar competitions as a effort to extend its application to other studies.

Four databases were searched for articles publised until November 2018 that databases include PubMed, Proquest (nursing and allied health), CINAHL, & RISS. Key word used for search include 'education, nursing', 'simulation', 'skill training', 'virtual reality' and 'VR'. Of 695 papers searched, Seven studies were selected for data analysis. Of seven studies, five studies used quasi-experimental design and two used one group design. There were two studies used VR technology for skill training and five were scenario based VR simulation program. Studies evaluated outcomes including students performance, time spent on practice, self-efficacy and communication ability that most studies reported positive effects while some figures were not statistically significant. The findings of this study provides evidence of nursing education program using VR, however, additional research with rigorously designed studies using systematized measurements for study outcomes are required. In addition, comparison with existing skill training and simulation education should be considered in the future studies.
