Study on the polymerization-induced phase separation of UV-curable material (UV경화제료의 중합상분리에 관한 연구)

  • Surface sizing is one of the important process to the paper making. Surface sizing had an effect on penetration of oils, physical propertiesm water resistance for the paper. This study was carried out for the purpose of improving printability with surface sizing of domestic newspaper. The samples were prepared by means of TAPPI method(TAPPI 205 om~88), and were wested by IGT printability tester. The results of this study showed that the set-off was reduced on the surface sized with oxidized starch.

The Sizing Communications of Menswear on Retail Websites (온라인 쇼핑 사이트의 성인 남성복 제품 사이즈 정보 실태 분석)

  • This study aims to identify the current sizing communication issues of menswear on retail websites and to suggest an effective size information presentation method. Based on sales frequency and awareness in the Korean menswear market, 22 brand websites were selected, and size-related information was investigated using 7 types of representative apparel items. The current diverse types of size codes had limitations in delivering actual product size information. Many websites preferred to display garment dimensions rather than basic body measurements, which is the suggested size designation method in Korean Standard. The websites posted fit model photos and customer reviews. However, the body size specifications, which consumers can use as a useful reference, were often omitted. There was also a high uncertainty in product size selection, with only the basic body measurement information listed, and there was a high deviation of garment dimensions within the same basic body measurements. The product size distribution did not match actual Korean body types. Based on the findings, we suggested improved effective sizing communication methods. These methods will contribute to a better online shopping environment for both consumers and retail sellers.

  • This study investigates the apparel sizing communication presented in online retail websites focusing on women's ready-to-wear tailored jackets and to analyze the meaning of these information as the actual product size guide factor. A total of 34 retail websites were selected based on the highest growth fashion companies list and the best fashion brands list. We collected size information in two types: size specifications including sizing code, body measurements, garment measurements, and size references including customized size guide tools, size information in customer reviews, model size information, and others. Most websites prefer to present garment measurements rather than body measurements that are recommended notations under Korean standards and related regulations. In addition, there was the absence of consistency in presenting measurements list and terms that can confuse consumers in size communication. This study found that the stature measurement was a key factor in size reference despite that it did not represent a proper garment size. The obsolete Korean numbering sizing code such as '55 and '66 was still used in many ways such as idiomatic expressions for body shape. It also implied that we can take advantage of the old sizing code for accessible size information. The finding of this study gives an in-depth diagnosis of current online sizing information problems and suggests useful basic data for developing online apparel size standards and marketing strategies.

New Sizing System Development of Korean Male Military Winter Jacket (한국 남자 군인 방한복의 신 치수체계 개발)

  • This study was designed to help develop an optimized sizing system for the military winter jackets of Korean males. First, we conducted a survey on the supply rate of military winter jackets and the wearing of suitable size jackets in order to identify problems in the current sizing system. We next developed a new sizing system generation method to satisfy the coverage rate and appropriate size number: Hybrid of Grid with Optimization. The findings of this study were: 1. The survey indicated that a 90 (chest girth) size is necessary; in addition, a one-step large size jacket fit well as a right size jacket. 2. We developed three optimized sizing systems for Korean male military winter jackets using the Hybrid of Grid with an optimization method and suggested one of them as a final new sizing system. The new sizing system consisted of two primary dimension: chest girth and stature. It has a 14 size number and its extended coverage rate is larger than the current sizing system and it has a 90 (chest girth) size. It also selected an optimized size for the area of low population density. The new sizing system is therefore considered very effective for Korean male soldiers military winter jackets.

Development of a Sizing System of Women's Fitness Wear for the Senior Population in South Korea (한국 노인 여성을 위한 피트니스 압박웨어 치수 개발)

  • The objective of this study is to develop a sizing system of fitness clothing that can properly accommodate various body sizes of Korean senior women. The sizing system of upper and lower fitness clothing was developed in the present study by selection of key variables, identification of size category candidates, and determination of an optimal sizing system. First, key anthropometric dimensions (stature and bust circumference for upper clothing and stature; waist circumference for lower clothing) were identified by factor analysis on the direct body measurements (n = 272) and 3D whole-body scan data (n = 271) of Korean senior women in Size Korea. Second, sizing system candidates based on the key dimensions of upper and lower clothing were explored using a grid method and an optimization method. Lastly, among the sizing system candidates, optimal sizing systems of upper and lower clothing were selected in terms of accommodation rate. Five size categories (short/small, short/medium, tall/small, tall/medium, and tall/large) were selected as the optimal sizing systems of upper and lower clothing with 89% and 78% of accommodation rate, respectively, for the Korean senior women. The anthropometric characteristics of the representative humans of the optimal size categories would be of use in the design of fitness compressive wear for the better fit and effectiveness of exercise and health of Korean senior women.

  • 정보시스템의 개발 및 유지보수에 대한 기준은 과기처 등에서 제정한 'S/W 개발비 산정기준'을 준용하고 있다. 그러나 본 기준이 Business Computing 환경을 기준으로 작성되었고, 전력계통 제어를 비롯한 각종 공정제어시스템 구축 환경에 부적합할 뿐 아니라 시스템의 뼈대(Frame)를 구성하는 H/W의 규모 산정이 누락되어 있는 상태이다. 전력거래소는 우리나라의 전력계통 환경에 적합한 한국형 에너지관리시스템(이하 K-EMS)의 국산화 개발을 각종 첨단 S/W의 탑재 기준에 따라 단계별(Baseline, Prototype, Fullscale)로 추진하면서, 각 단계에 가장 적합한 하드웨어의 용량 산정 기준을 선정하는 작업을 진행하고 있다. 이는 정보시스템 개발에서 자원의 낭비를 최소화하고 전체 개발비용을 절감 할 수 있다는 점에서 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 K-EMS 시스템 국산화 개발을 위해 K-EMS가 수용할 각종 응용프로그램별 특성을 감안한 하드웨어의 적정 용량 산정 기준과 적용방안을 제시하고, CPU, Memory 등 세부 항목에 대한 고려항목을 언급함으로써 최적의 K-EMS 하드웨어 Sizing 산정방안을 소개하고자 한다.

A Study on the Suggestion for the Revision of Standard Sizing System for Female Adult's Garments (성인 여성복의 KS 치수 표준 개정을 위한 제안 연구)

  • KS K 0051(2009) was established in 1990 and revised in 1994, 1999, 2004 and 2009. Recently the structure of apparel production and distribution are changing like as small quantity batch production, increase of importing abroad apparel and increase of on-line shopping mall. Based on Social and economic conditions, examine the potential for use of KS K 0051(2009) standard sizing system for female adult's garments are needed. Through which, it was intended to suggestion for the revision of standard sizing system for female adult's garments which can facilitate communication among consumer, producer and sellers. The improvement point was discussed through review of the current KS K 0051 (2009) and abroad standard sizing system for female adult's garments, ISO 3637(1977), ISO 4416(1981), BS EN 13402-2(2002), BS EN 13402-3(2004), JIS L 4005(2001) and GB/T 1335.2(2008). Also, the revision of standard sizing system for female adult's garments was suggested using data of 6th Size Korea. As a result of this study, in the revision, formal wear, casual wear, training wear and under wear were separated to simplify the classification and the classification of body type were excluded. Also, it is possible that size designation was simplified through optional notation and letter code based on bust girth could be marked together in casual wear.

  • This study aims to analyze the sizing information of women's ready-to-wear pants as indicated on online retail websites and to suggest better sizing communication that can assist customers in making successful apparel size selections. We gathered size specifications and size reference information for basic straight pants from 34 online apparel retail websites. Although the Korean standard recommends labeling the body dimension-based sizing code and specification, most websites preferred to use various types of sizing codes. Body measurements were only used by a few websites, and garment dimension descriptions were the most common method to indicate product size. Many websites provided size reference information through customer review boards and fit model images, however, there was insufficient body size information to allow customers to infer the fit of their body type. When using the size guidance tools, the major data input points were stature and weight measurements. However, the waist measurements of pants sizes guided only by stature and weight values revealed inconsistent ease allowance for corresponding body size populations, especially in the overweight group. Based on our findings, we propose a more effective method of communicating the size information of pants online. We expect that this will contribute to the efficiency of online apparel product display and build a better shopping environment that satisfies both sellers and consumers.

Consumer Awareness and Preferences Regarding Apparel Sizing in Online Shopping (온라인 쇼핑에서 의류 제품 사이즈에 대한 소비자 인식 및 관여도 조사)

  • This study investigates consumer awareness and concerns regarding apparel sizing in the realm of online shopping. A survey was conducted with 450 women aged 18-59 who had engaged in online clothing purchases within the past year. It was observed that consumers shop for clothes online an average of 1.6 times per month, with those under 50 shopping more frequently. The importance of size is higher when buying pants than jackets, especially in online shopping compared to offline purchases. Key references guiding online shopping decisions encompassed product sizing codes, customer reviews, and garment dimensions, which were notably favored by consumers with significant concerns. Respondents opted for Korean-style sizing codes for jackets but chose inch-sizing codes for pants. While awareness of height and weight remains high, knowledge of specific body measurements crucial for clothing size design is lacking, suggesting inadequate communication of size information. Respondents prioritized specific areas for jacket and pants fit, yet the lack of comprehensive self-measurements beyond height and weight might present challenges in determining fit based solely on product dimensions. To address this issue, online retailers should display essential garment dimensions and visually suggest clothing sizes according to various body types. These findings provide valuable insights for online retailers to effectively present size information and lay a foundational framework for consumer size education.

  • IP QoS is not required to overcome the limitations of the existing Best Effort Service to connect to the explosion of the Internet traffic revenue. To IP QoS requirements of next-generation communication network, Metric Sizing Methodology is very important. However, IP networks have been developed with a focus gender flexibility and scalability than the QoS. Therefore, it is necessary to secure the quality measures for different existing IP technology to apply QoS in IP networks. When establishing the connection quality and transmission quality, based on the IP QoS(Quality of Service) objective data quality metrics can be obtained by analyzing the communication quality hindrance. Understanding the communication quality level may evaluate quality sensitive area and quality hindrance. Establish effective quality metrics can be expected to promote effective and customer satisfaction through improved quality, improved call quality for this issue.
