An Optimal Design of Man-On-Board Storage and Retrieval Warehousing System

  • This paper deals with the design problem of a man-on-board(MOB) storage and retrieval warehousing system which is suitable for storing items of small size and light weight. It is assumed that the operator carries out a sequence of retrieving(or storing) operations traveling on a specially designed truck. Considering the operating characteristics of the man-on-board system, an optimal design model is developed in which the investment and maintenance costs of the system are minimized over a time horizon satisfying a set of constructional restrictions. The model is formulated as a nonlinear integer program and a search algorithm is proposed to find an optimum solution.

  • The performance of screw compressor depends on lots of design parameters of rotor profile, such as length of seal line, wrap angle, blow hole, suction and discharge port size, number of rotor lobe, etc. The optimum rotor profile makes it possible to increase the compression efficiency with low energy consumption, and to minimize the loss of power. In this research, a new rotor profile design and performance analysis are done by computer simulation. It is expected that the volumetric efficiency is improved because the internal leakage is reduced due to the minimization of blow hole and clearance, and the stiffness of rotors is increased due to the reduction of length to diameter ratio. Also, the specific power consumption will be secured for use ranging from low to high operation speed.

시뮬레이션에 의한 태양열 난방의 최적설계에 관한 연구 (The Analysis of Optimum Design Parameters for a Solar Space Heating System through Computer Simulation)

  • This paper presents a method for estimating the useful output of solar space heating system and estimates their performance with variance of collector size, storage volume, collector tilt and other factors . The analysis is performed by the computer simulation and by 'running' conceptual systems against solar intensities and ambient temperature for a model year stored in a computer. System performance is analyzed on monthly and yearly basis respectively and at the same time, the economics of various systems are evaluated . And also, this paper shows how an optimized design can be selected for any locality for which solar data, economic parameters and system performance are provided. It is shown that storage volume of 75 liter per $m^2$ of solar collector lead to the best design.

  • 자동반송 시스템인 천장용 호이스트 이송장치는 천장을 반송공간으로 반도체 웨이퍼를 운반하는 장치이며, 분진이나 소음 및 진동에 대단히 민감하다. 구동부와 레일의 접촉에 의해서 발생되는 마찰, 분진 소음 등의 문제를 최소화시키고 구동부와 이재부의 자중에 따른 구조물 자체의 안정성 검토를 수행하기 위해서 레일의 구조해석 및 최적설계가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 구동부의 자중에 의한 레일의 기울기를 관심영역으로 설정하고, 변위 및 기울기를 최소화시키기 위해서 위상최적화, 근사 최적화 기법을 도입하여 최적화를 수행하였다. 구조해석은 ANSYS를 이용하였고, 3D 모델링은 Pro/Engineer를 이용하였다. 최적화 알고리즘은 수렴성이 높은 순차 이차 계획법인 PLBA(Pshenichny-Lim-Belegundu-Arora) 알고리즘을 사용하였다.

  • Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells (PEMFC) are the most appropriate for energy source of small robot applications. PEMFC has superior in power density and thermodynamic efficiency as compared with the Direct Methaol Fuel Cell (DMFC). Furthermore, PEMFC has lighter weight and smaller size than DMFC which are very important factors as small robot power system. The most significant factor of mobile robots is weight which relates closely with energy consumption and robot operation. This research tried to find optimum specifications in terms of type, number of cell, active area, cooling method, weight, and size. In order to find optimum 500W PEMFC, six options are designed in this paper and studied to reduce total stack weight by applying new materials and design innovations. However, still remaining problems are thermal management, robot space for energy sources, and so on. For a thermal management, design options need to analysis of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for determining which option has the improved performance and durability.

OPR1000 발전소의 핵연료 주기비분석을 통한 최적 배취 크기와 핵연료 농축도 결정 (Determination of Optimum Batch Size and Fuel Enrichment for OPR1000 NPP Based on Nuclear Fuel Cycle Cost Analysis)

  • 국내 원자력발전소의 주기길이는 전력회사의 전력수급계획에 따라 결정된다. 주기길이는 노심에 장전할 신연료 다발수와 핵연료 농축도를 조정하여 결정할 수 있다. 전력회사에서는 특정 주기길이를 만족시키기 위한 방법으로 신연료 다발수를 정한 후 핵연료 농축도를 결정하는 방법을 적용하고 있다. 그러나 이 방법의 경우 같은 주기길이를 갖는 다른 신연료 다발수와 핵연료 농축도의 조합들 보다 핵연료 주기비 측면에서 가장 경제적인지 판단할 수가 없다. 따라서 본 분석에서는 상용 노심설계 코드인 CASMO/MASTER 코드를 사용하여 OPR1000(Optimized Power Reactor 1000) 발전소를 대상으로 신연료 다발수와 핵연료 농축도 조합에 대한 노심 연소계산을 수행하여 동일한 주기길이를 갖는 최적의 신연료 다발수와 핵연료 농축도 조합은 무엇인지 분석하였다. 천이노심계산에서 발생할 수 있는 불확실도를 최소화하기 위해 노심 특성인자들이 변하지 않는 평형노심(equilibrium cycle)까지 계산을 수행하여 이때의 계산결과를 핵연료 주기비 계산에 사용하였다. 또한 평준화 핵연료 주기비(levelized fuel cycle cost) 계산에 있어 중요한 인자인 할인율(discount rate)에 대해서 국내뿐만 아니라 다른 나라의 실정에도 적용 가능하도록 민감도 분석을 수행하였다. 평준화 핵연료 주기비(levelized fuel cycle cost) 평가 결과 할인율(discount rate)이 낮은 경우 신연료 다발수는 줄이고 대신 핵연료 농축도를 높이는 조합을 통해 특정 주기길이를 만족시키는 방법이 경제적인 것으로 나타났다. 반면 할인율(discount rate)이 높은 경우는 핵연료 농축도는 낮추고 신연료 다발수를 늘리는 조합을 통해 특정 주기길이를 만족시키는 방법이 경제적인 것으로 나타났다.

고속화에 따른 철도터널의 단면규모 결정요소에 대한 고찰 (A Study on the Principal Factors of Rail Tunnel Cross-Section Design due to High Speed)

  • Recently, fast-growing up railway transportations. Because, regional traffic congestion problem solving and a period of rapid expansion to meet the demand of industries. In addition the government also suggest to new paradigm for the future 'Low Carbon, Green Growth' is presented as a new national vision. To meet the social needs and the time demands, Last of the railway increase very long tunnels and huge deep tunnels. Especially this trend accelerated high speed up in the tunnel, the revision of design criteria and research challenges are being actively improved. Mainly in the tunnel cross-section was under the control of the vehicle train speed 150km/hr by the construction of the vehicle cross-section of the tunnel. More than 200km/hr rail tunnel depending on the vehicle's speed caused the tunnel to the pressure fluctuations will be governed by the aerodynamic changes. Considering the economy to ensure the optimum cross-section of the railway tunnel to the description scheme is selected cross-section of the railway tunnel to determine the size domestic or international railway tunnel for the elements((based on fast Algorithm design criteria, the center line spacing, streetcar line, cross-sectional shape, sectoral issues, such as interface and aerodynamics) based on design practices and to review results. In this study, to propose guidelines depending on the size of a railway tunnel cross section for the size of the determining reasonable factors when designing the railway tunnel and cost-effective standards guidelines.

자동차용 파워트레인 마운팅 시스템의 최적설계 (Optimum Design of Vehicle Powertrain Mounting System)

  • Technology of vehicle industry has been developing and it is required a better vehicle performance than before. Therefore, the consumers are asking not only an economic efficiency, functionality, polished design, ride comfort and silence but also a driving stability. The ride comfort, silence and driving stability are influenced by the size of vehicle and various facilities. But the principal factor is a room noise and vibration sensed by a driver and passenger. Thus, the NVH of vehicle has been raised and used as a principal factor for evaluation of vehicle performance. The primary objective of this study is an optimized design of powertrain mounting system. To optimized design was applied MSC.Nastran optimization modules. Results of dynamic analysis for powertrain mounting system was investigated. By theses results, design variables was applied 12 dynamic spring constant. And the weighting factor according to translational displacement and rotational displacement applied 3 cases. The objective function was applied to minimize displacement of powertrain. And the design variable constraint was imposed dynamic spring constant ratio. The constraint of design variable for objective function was imposed bounce displacement for powertrain.

계단의 적정치수 계획에 관한 연구 -계단에서의 안전을 위한 단높이, 단너비, 경사도의 최소치수를 중심으로- (A Study on the Design of Optimum Dimension of Staircase -Focused on the Minimum Dimension of Riser, Tread and Slope for Safety on Staircase-)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the method of prevention of staircase accidents, and to make housing environment better through researching the dimension of a housing staircase for Korean. The scope and method of this thesis is to investigate the dimension limits of a staircase (slope, minimum width of tread, maximum height of riser), and to analyze the characteristics of foot condition (jutting rate, foot angle, ball joint, nosing clearance, clearance distance) using the experiment which takes a photograph of foot motion during walking stairs. The results of this thesis are as follows. The slope of a staircase in house is $32.3^{\circ}$$^{\circ}$-$42.1^{\circ}$$^{\circ}$. The riser should be less than 190 mm. The minimum size of tread is 210 mm and proper size is 270 mm.

선발과정에서의 세대별 QTL 좌위 고정에 관한 연구 (The Response of QTL in Generation during Selection)

  • The objective of this study was to determine the response of QTL in each generation during selection to develop inbred lines. The simulation program was written in Fortran. Magnitude of QTL effects, base population size, number of QTL assigned to population, and the allelic frequency for the positive allele at each major QTL were highly associated with number of generations to fixation of QTLs during selection. Populations with larger QTL effects and larger base population size had more individuals with fixed QTL. However, a smaller number of QTL assigned to population had a higher fraction of individuals with fixed QTL at each generation compared with more populations with QTL. This simulation study will help to design biological experiments for detection of QTL-marker association using inbred population and to determine optimum number of lines with fixed QTL during inbred line development. To complement this study, additional simulation should be need with abundant replicates, more various population sizes, magnitude of QTL effects, and recombination between markers and QTLs.
