The decrease in the farming rates of agricultural produce importing countries has led to concerns over stable food supply and food safety and this situation demands a change in awareness on agricultural problems arising from the depletion of natural resources and environmental destruction. To preserve agriculture, importing countries are emphasizing the various roles of agriculture in order to revive its multi-functional aspects. It is obvious that differentiated strategies are needed to create values from agricultural production, and a liberal arts education can play an important role in making these strategies. However, training programs for future agricultural CEOs of the Korea National Agricultural College(KNAC) attaches too much importance on production skill and management rather than focusing on a liberal arts education. On the other hand, Poolmoo Ecological Agriculture Course carried out by Poolmoo Agriculture Technical High School located in Hongseong-Gun, Chungnam Province (which puts a high value on ecological fanning) gives more weight on a liberal arts education, taking up more than 50% of the curriculum. Also, the National Farmers Academy in Japan which reformed its whole system in 2008, has started various liberal arts educational programs. The Academy fosters creative agricultural management, attractive rural development enhancing a comfortable rural life and educates on the future of Japanese food and international environment. It is expected that the ecological and cultural roles of farming will grow in the future. So, what the KNAC needs is to increase its liberal arts educational programs and various cultural experiences in its educational curriculum to promote agricultural marketing with cultural knowledge and sensitivity.

Korea has been in a truce state for about 70 years, not an end-of-war country. Even in a situation with this specificity, Korea's veterans' system is insufficient compared to other countries. In addition, Korea's veteran policy lacks an "honor of veterans" system compared to veterans' advanced countries (the United States, Canada, Australia, France, and Germany), and a representative example of it is the "support system for veterans and discharged soldiers." After analyzing the major veterans' policy systems in the veterans' developed countries (US, Canada, Australia, France, and Germany), this study suggests that we should expand the major anniversaries related to veterans and suggest a policy alternative as it is necessary to introduce public awareness education on the promotion of veterans. In the end, it is necessary to properly recognize the pain and agony of division to the generations before and after, laying the foundation for the advanced country-type veteran affair system.

In this paper, we propose a distributed model that recognize ADLs of human can be occurred in daily living places. We collect and analyze user's environmental, location or activity information by simple sensor attached home devices or utensils. Based on these information, we provide a lifecare services by inferring the user's life pattern and health condition. But in order to provide a lifecare services well-refined activity recognition data are required and without enough inferred information it is very hard to build an ADL activity recognition model for high-level situation awareness. The sequence that generated by sensors are very helpful to infer the activities so we utilize the sequence to analyze an activity pattern and propose a distributed linear time inference algorithm. This algorithm is appropriate to recognize activities in small area like home, office or hospital. For performance evaluation, we test with an open data from MIT Media Lab and the recognition result shows over 75% accuracy.

SIARD_KR is an administrative information dataset preservation tool. It is a partially modified version of SIARD, technology used for long-term preservation of relational databases developed by the Swiss Federal Archives, to suit Korea's situation better. Previous studies have focused on how SIARD is able to effectively extract all data contained in the relational database without loss. However, not all data contained in the database is meaningful information, that is, an administrative information dataset. This paper began, therefore, with the awareness of the problem of whether SIARD_KR reflects the characteristics of the administrative information dataset. SIARD_KR is not only a tool for extracting data stored in the DB. We want to see if it is capable of identifying and extracting only meaningful information, and maintaining meaningful information, even if it is separated from the original system. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the structure of SIARD_KR, identify expected problems, and suggest improvement measures for them.

Recently, the role of the kitchen has evolved from the space for previous survival to the space that shows the present life and culture. Along with these changes, the use of IoT technology is spreading. As a result, the development and diffusion of new smart devices in the kitchen is being achieved. The user experience for using these smart devices is also becoming important. For a natural interaction between a user and a computer, better interactions can be expected based on context awareness. This paper examines the Natural User Interface (NUI) that does not touch the device based on the user interface (UI) of the smart device used in the kitchen. In this method, we use the image processing technology to recognize the user's hand gesture using the camera attached to the device and apply the recognized hand shape to the interface. The gestures used in this study are proposed to gesture according to the user's context and situation, and 5 kinds of gestures are classified and used in the interface.

The main purpose of this research was to discover the characteristics of the 'commons for all' related to public libraries as much as possible, design the learning content, and finally to demonstrate whether the contents meet the general education requirement of universities. The public library is a study hall for multi-literacy, a common place for lifelong learning without discrimination, a place for experiencing digital sharing culture, a place for practicing public architectural design for community regeneration, a workshop for the maker movement and finally, a hub for forming local communities. In short, it has all the characteristics appropriate to being a commons. This subject titled "Sharing Culture and Local Libraries" is designed and composed with various literacy understanding, information ethics of information literacy, community consciousness and multicultural understanding, public consciousness, cooperative spirit and computer utilization ability, interdisciplinary knowledge, and integrated perspective. In a situation where the regional and public crises are increasing, this kind of general education subject about public library, is expected to contribute greatly to raising the awareness of the library and further enhancing the local community togetherness spirit by spreading the value of the library widely to students and inducing them to actually experience various library services.

This study explored the experiences and difficulties of science teachers who participated in overseas educational voluntary activities. Seven science teachers who had visited Timor-Leste participated in the study. All collected data including the teacher interview were analyzed. As a result, teachers visited Timor-Leste to fulfill social roles and to meet the expectations of others. After returning from Timor-Leste, the teachers regained their passion for teaching and gained confidence in taking on new challenges. Teachers had difficulties in conducting seminars due to the unstable social situation and lack of awareness of Timor-Leste teachers, and experienced communication limitations due to language barriers. Nevertheless, teachers cooperate with local priest to improve these limitations. In addition, teachers supplemented the limitations caused by the non-establishment of the curriculum through the evaluation meeting. In order to improve teaching expertise and promote active participation of Timor-Leste teachers, the seminar method was modified. The experience of volunteering in Timor-Leste made teachers think about the importance of cooperation and the necessity of education. Based on the above results, we discussed ways to activate voluntary service.
