A Study on the Analysis Model of AC/DC Switch-mode Converter (AC/DC 스위치모드 컨버터의 해석모델에 관한 연구)

  • A switch-mode AC/DC converter with high input power factor and sinusoidal input current waveforms is analyzed and modelled for computer simulation. The developed mathematical model for this converter can be used to examine the transient and steady-state performance for selecting the proper ratings of filter, boost inductor and semiconductor devices or the effects of this converter under normal and fault operating conditions on the associated power systems. The proposed model and computer programs are confirmed by comparing with the experimental results.

  • Three control strategies that can be applied to a three-phase AC-DC converter under unbalanced input voltage condition are discussed. Analytic solutions are given on the a-b-c frame, and are very simple, direct and Intuitive. All of the strategies guarantee sinusoidal input currents. All the control functions, including decoupled current control and PWM, are implemented on the a-b-c frame. Accordingly, the controller is very simple and robust. The proposal is verified by simulation and experiments on a prototype operating at 15 kHz

  • This paper presents a 3kW grid-connection photovoltaic power generation system and its topology. Photovoltaic system must provide the sinusoidal output voltage wave for unity power factor High frequency switching converters are becoming more popular because of several benefits which are essential in power conversion system. This paper introduces a high speed digital controller using TMS320F2812 DSP chip which can be used for high frequency switching converters. The experimental results of the proposed PWM Inverter demonstrates its high performance with unity input power factor having very low distorsion in input current waveforms and good dynamic characteristics at full load.

  • Phase angle control ac drives system gains a high popularity due to their simple implementation despite the disadvantage of their poor input power factor especially for large values of phase delay angle. Furthermore it generates subharmononic current at specific phase angle. As input current of do drive systems are sinusoidal, the power factor and subharmonic current characteristics are improve. This paper presents the application of a PWM control technique of do chopper system to reduce the subharmonic current and its characteristics using single-phase dc chopper drive system of universal motor.

  • The ALE problem, which tries to recover a sinusoidal signal corrupted by noise, has been solved using FIR filters. Recently several methods have been proposed using a norch filter of IIR type. In this study, the notch filter was represented with a parameter and auxiliary signals were generated by using an adaptive observer. A simple method is proposed to estimate the parameter. This method is tested under various circumstances by changing the input frequency, S/N ratio, and the type of the noise. The simulation shows that this method gives much better results than the other known methods with respect to the input S/N ratio and converging times. This method is simple and does not require much conputation, so it can be easily implemented in real time applications.

  • This paper describes Sinusoidal Wave-Variable Voltage Variable Fequency (SW-VVVF) system for the high efficiency drive of a 3-phase induction motor. SW-VVVF system consists of a 3-phase 24-pulse converter and a SPWM inverter. The converter with additional 2 tap diode circuits in interphase reactor reduces harmonics in input current. The SPWM inverter consists of an improved PLL system and a V/F controller, which reduces harmonics in output current and performs a high efficiency algorithm by maintaining a constant slip frequency and compensating for the velocity variation of the induction motor with the change of load. Therefore, this system reduces harmonics in input and output currents, and also can drive an induction motor with high efficiency in an economical way. We have proved its utility through experiment.

  • This paper presents the characteristics of current harmonics and torque ripple of Brushless DC motor, which is developed the fan blower of vehicles, according to input voltage waveform. To investigate the torque ripple and the phase current harmonics, these characteristics is analysed and compared the experimental results. In the process of analysis, FEM is introduced and computed a transient state torque of BLDC with a sinusoidal and a PWM wave voltage.

  • For small capacity rectifier circuits such as these for consumer electronics and appliances, capacitor input type rectifier circuits are generally used. Consequently, various harmonics generated within the power system become a serious problem. Various studies of this effect have been presented previously. However, most of these employ switching devices, such as FET and the like. The absence of switching devices mattes systems more tolerant to over-load and brings low radio noise benefits. We propose a power factor correction scheme using a LC resonant in commercial frequency without switching devices. In this method It makes a sinusoidal wave by widening conduction period using the current resonance in commercial frequency, Hence, the harmonic characteristics can be significantly improved, where the lower order harmonics, such as the fifth and seventh orders are much reduced The result are confirmed by the theoretical and experimental implementations.

  • In this paper, direct power control system for three-phase PFC AC/DC converter without the source voltage sensors is proposed. The sinusoidal input current and unity effective power factor are realised based on the estimated flux in the observer. Both active and reactive power calculated using estimated flux. The estimation of flux is performed based on the reduced-order virtual flux observer using the actual currents and the command control voltage. Moreover, source voltage sensors are replaced by a estimated flux. DC output voltage has been compensated by DC output ripple voltage estimation algorithm. The active and reactive powers estimation are performed based on the estimated flux and Phase angle. The proposed algorithm is verified through simulation and experiment.

  • This paper proposes a novel PWM technique for a three phase current fad type converters. A minor loop compensation method is introduced to compensate leading current and to minimize input line current (Iu) distortion resulting from the resonance between AC filter capacitor and source inductance of power system. This PWM converter has excellent characterics as next. The control system is simply designed, and the operation with unity power factor can be easily obtained by automatic compensating the leading current of the filter circuit. Also. the three phase sinusoidal input current can be obtained.
