ZPCCY계 바리스터 세라믹스의 전기적 특성 및 제한전압 특성 (Electrical and Clamping Voltage Characteristics of ZPCCY-Based Varistor Ceramics)

  • The microstructure, electrical, and clamping voltage characteristics of ZPCCY-based varistor ceramics were investigated in the sintering time range of 1${\sim}$3 h. Increasing sintering time promoted the densification, in which the average grain size and density are increased in the range of $11.4{\sim}16.0{\mu}m$ and $5.34{\sim}5.54g/cm^3$, respectively. The nonlinear exponent decresed in the range of 60${\sim}$26 and the leakage current increased in the range of $1.3{\sim}10.7{\mu}A$ with increase of sintering time. The clamping voltage ratio was less than 2 for ratio surge current of 10 A over sintering times.

  • The electrical properties and stability of ZPCCY-based varistors composing of $ZnO-Pr_{6}O_{11}-CoO-Cr_{2}O_{3}-Y_{2}O_{3}$ ceramics were investigated with sintering time. As sintering time is increased, the nonlinear exponent decreased in the range of 51.19~26.70. Among varistors having above 30 in nonlinear exponent, for the varistor sintered for 1h, the nonlinearity was superior to the stability comparatively and, in the case of 2h, the stability was superior to the nonlinearity relatively. Consequently, it is estimated that the varistors sintered for 1~2h will be applied to various fields by trade-off between nonlinearity and stability.

  • The electrical properties and stability of ZPCCY-based varistors composing of ZnO-Pr$_{6}$ O$_{11}$ -CoO-Cr$_2$O$_3$-Y$_2$O$_3$ ceramics were investigated with sintering time.   • TiNi bodies were produced from (Ti+Ni) powder mixture by spark-plasma sintering procerg. The sintering behavior was investigated through the measurement of change in density, densification rate, phase analysis and microstructure. Irrespective of heating rate, sintered bodies with above 97% relative density could be obtained. TiNi with B2 structure was confirmed as the major phase and $Ti_2Ni,\;TiNi_3$, unreacted Ti, Ni as the second phase. Increase in heating rate suppressed a formation of intermediate phase during sintering process. Increase in holding time at sintering temperature led to a compositional homogenization.

Improvments in Cost Reduction for Vacuum Sintering and Vacuum and Overpressure Sintering for Tungsten Carbides

  • In all larger hardmetal workshops furnaces for dewaxing, vacuum sintering or vacuum and overpressure sintering are today's standard. The furnace technology is well established. Equipment specifications such as operating overpressure, determine sintering cost, product quality, safety and reliability of the furnace and ultimately influence the competitiveness of the hard metal procucer in the global market. Essential furnace requirements are an efficient utilization of the furnace, an environmental friendly dewaxing system, high temperature uniformity, metallurgical treatment with process gases, as well as reduced cooling time by means of rapid cooling. Examples of reduced sintering costs are described achieved using a new design of vacuum sintering furnace with an improved rapid cooling device, cooling times are reduced by up to 45%. Additionally, a cost comparison of two different designs of vacuum overpressure sintering furnaces are included.

  • ln this paper, the $Sr_{l-x}Ca_xTiO_3(0\leqx\leq0.2)-based$ grain boundary layer ceramics were fabricated to measure dielectric properties with the sintering temperature and the thermal treatment time. The sintering temperature and time were $1420~15206{\circ}C$, 4hours, and the thermal treatment temperature and time of the specimen were $l150^{\circ}C$, 1, 2, 3hours, respectively. The structural and the dielectric properties were investigated by SEM, X-ray, HP4194A and K6517. The average grain size was increased with increasing the sintering temperature, but it decreased up to 15mo1% with increasing content of Ca. X-ray diffraction analysis results showed that all specimens were the cubic structure, and the main peaks were moved to right and the lattice constant were decreased with increasing content of Ca. The appropriate thermal treatment time and temperature of CuO to obtain dielectric properties of $\varepsilon_r>50000,\; tan \delta<0.05\; and \;\DeltaC<\pm10%$ were 2hrs and $l150^{\circ}C$, respectively.

$Al_2O_3$ 충전제의 함량, 입도 및 소결시간에 따른 $Al_2O_3$/CAS glass 복합체의 저온 소결 및 유전 특성 (Low temperature and dieletric properties of $Al_2O_3$/CAS glass composites by dose and particle size of $Al_2O_3$ filler and sintering time)

  • Influences of dose and particle size of $Al_2O_3$ filler and sintering time on the dielectric properties of $Al_2O_3$ filler/CaO-$Al_2O_3-SiO_2$ (CAS) glass composites were investigated with a view to applying the composites to the substrate material in low temperature co-firing ceramic (LTCC) technology. The increased addition of $Al_2O_3$ filler with the particle size of 1 ${\mu}m$ monotonically decreased the density of the sintered specimen at a given temperature, while sintering of the 10 wt% $Al_2O_3$ added specimen at $925^{\circ}C$ for 2 h demonstrated 96.0 % of the relative density, dielectric constant of 6.34, and quality factor of 2,760 GHz. As for the influence of the particle size of the $Al_2O_3$ filler, there existed an optimum particle size (30 ${\mu}m$) to ensure successful densification (96.5 %) of the 10 wt% $Al_2O_3$/CAS composites at $925^{\circ}C$ for 2 h, at which condition the specimen demonstrated dielectric constant of 5.45 and quality factor of 3,740 GHz. When the influence of the sintering time of the 10 wt% $Al_2O_3$) (30 ${\mu}m$) added specimen was investigated at the sintering temperature of $925^{\circ}C$, an overly long sintering time degraded dielectric properties due to the over-sintering and the significant growth of the second phase such as anorthite, while the sintering for 4 h demonstrated 96.58 % of the relative density, dielectric constant of 5.4, and quality factor of 4,050 GHz. These results demonstrate the feasibility of the investigated material as the substrate material in LTCC technology.

  • In this study, we have analyzed structural analysis and measured ferroelectric characteristics of PZT thin films prepared by sol gel process with different sintering conditions and different Zr/Ti mot%. When the Zr mot% of PZT thin film was increased, it was found that the remanent. polarization and coercive field were decreased and increased, respectively. Also, the maxium dielectric constant of PZT(50/50) thin film was 786.8. We got double hysteresis(anti-fcrroelectric) curve from PbZrO$_{3}$ thin film. As heating rate goes up, pyrochlore phase of PZT thin film was decreased and dielectric and ferroelectric characteristics were improved. As a result of variation of sintering temperature and time 500.deg. C-800.deg. C and 5 sec.-8 hours, respectively, we got optimal sintering temperature and time. The optimium sintering temperature and time of conventional furnace method and rapid thermal processing method were 650.deg. C-700.deg. C for 30-60 minutes and 700.deg. C/20 seconds-2 minutes, respectively.

Zn-Pr-Co-Cr-Y 산화물계 바리스터의 써지 스트레스에 대한 전기적 안정성에 소결시간의 영향 (Effect of Sintering lime on Electrical Stability against Surge Stress of Zn-Pr-Co-Cr-Y Oxide-based Varistors)

  • The electrical stability against surge stress of varistors, which are composed of Zn-Pr-Co-Cr-Y oxide system, were investigated at different sintering times. As sintering time increases, the varistor voltage and nonlinear exponent decreased in the range of $279.6\~179.1$ and $52.5\~24.9$, respectively. On the contrary, the leakage current and dielectric dissipation factor increased in the range of $1.2\~9.8\;{\mu}A$ and 0.0461\~0.0651 with increase of sintering time. For all varistors, the variation rates of V-I characteristic parameters against surge stress were more strongly affected in order of varistor voltage ${\rightarrow}nonlnear$ $exponent{\rightarrow}leakage$ current. On the whole, the electrical stability against surge stress increased with increasing sintering time. Conclusively, it is assumed that the varistors sintered for 2 h exhibited comparatively good characteristics, in view of overall characteristics.

열처리 조건에 따른 Bi계 초전도체에서 상 생성 과정에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Phase Formation Process in Bi-system Superconductor with Heat Treatment Conditions)

  • In this work, samples were manufactured variously by changing conventional calcining and sintering conditions and we tried the utilization by making the heat treatment time, which is demanded to high-Tc phase formation, much shorter. We found out optimal heat treatment conditions with the analysis on formation process at superconducting phase in term of the change of calcining and sintering time and then, examined X-ray diffraction(XRD) patterns, scanning electron microscope(SEM) measurement and energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer(EDX) of the samples manufactured under heat treatment conditions which we suggest here. As a result, 2223 high-$T_c$, phase of (Bi,Pb)SrCaCuO superconductor starting with ($Bi_l$ xPbx,)$_2$$Sr_2$$Ca_2$$Cu_3$$O_y$, composition was formed from 1 hr sintering sample at temperature nearby melting point and also the completed sample with calcining and sintering time of 9 hr was formed high-$T_c$.low-$T_c$ phase appearing in sight above the critical temperature of liquid $N_2$.
