X-ray Sensitivity of Hybrid-type Sensor based on CaWO4-Selenium for Digital X-ray Imager

  • The development of digital x-ray detector has been extensively progressed for the application of various medical modalities. In this study, we introduce a new hybrid-type x-ray detector to improve problems of a conventional direct or indirect digital x-ray image technology, which composed of multi-layer structure using a CaWO$_4$ phosphor and amorphous selenium (a-Se) photoconductor. The leakage current of our detector was found to be ∼180 pA/cm$^2$ at 10 V/m, which was significantly reduced than that of a single a-Se detector. The x-ray sensitivity was measured as the value of 4230 pC/cm$^2$/mR at 10 V/m. We found that the parylene thin film between a CaWO$_4$ phosphor and an a-Se layer acts as an insulator to prevent charge injection from indium thin oxide (ITO) electrode into an a-Se layer under applied bias.

  • Poly(p-phenylene vinylene), PPV를 발광층으로 하고 전자수송층(electron transport layer, ETL)이 도입된 이중 접합구조 유기 전기발광소자(electroluminescence device, ELD)를 제작하고 전기 발광 특성을 조사하였다. 전자 수송제로는 2-(4-biphenyl)-5-(4-tert-butylphenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole(PBD)를 사용하고 이를 분산시킬 기재 고분자(matrix polymer)로는 stilbene계 공단량체를 포함하는 poly(styrene-co-p-vinyl-trans-stilbene (PVTS)), poly(styrene-co-MeO-PVTS) 및 poly(styrene-co-MeO-ST)를 합성하였다. 이들 재료를 이용하여 이종 접합구조 ELD를 제조하였으며 poly(styrene-co-PVTS)를 기재 고분자로 쓴 EL 소자가 최대의 휘도를 나타냄을 확인하였다. Poly(styrene-co-MeO-PVTS) 및 poly(styrene-co-MeO-ST) 등 전자 주게 성질을 가진 methoxy기를 함유하는 기재 고분자를 쓴 EL 소자는 전자 수송층이 없는 ITO/PPV/Mg 단층 소자와 휘도가 유사 혹은 낮게 나타났다. Poly(styrene-co-PVTS)를 ETL에 쓴 EL 소자에 있어서 styrene보다 긴 conjugation 길이의 증가가 EL 발광 스펙트럼에 미치는 영향은 크지 않고 실제 발광은 PPV에 의해 주로 일어남이 관찰되었다.

2개의 형광 도판트를 적용한 단일발광층 유기발광소자의 광학적 특성 연구 (Study on Optical Characteristics of Organic Light-emitting Diodes Using Two Fluorescence Dopants in Single Emissive Layer)

  • 두 가지의 형광도판트를 이용하여 제작된 단일 발광층 유기발광다이오드(OLEDs)는 ITO / NPB ($700{\AA}$) / MADN : C545T - 1.0% : DCJTB - 0.3% ($300{\AA}$) / Bphen ($300{\AA}$>) / LiF ($10{\AA}$) / Al ($1,000{\AA}$)으로 구성되었다. C545T와 DCJTB는 각각 녹색과 적색 도판트로 사용되었고, 호스트 물질인 MADN에 대해서 각각 다른 농도로 도핑하였다. 이러한 두 가지 형광도 판트를 사용한 제적화된 OLED는 8.42 cd/A의 효율과 6 V에서 $3169 cd/m^2$의 발광 휘도와 (0.43, 0.50)의 색좌표를 가졌다. 이러한 OLED 구조의 electroluminescence는 각각 C545T와 DCJTB에 따라 500 nm와 564 nm의 피크를 가졌다. 이러한 결과는 MADN에서 C545T로 C545T에서 DCJTB로 포스터 에너지 전이가 일어났음을 설명할 수 있다.

단일층 백색유기발광소자의 제작 및 특성분석 (The Fabrication and Characteristic Analysis of Single-Layer White Organic Light Emitting Devices)

  • 본 논문은 백색유기발광소자를 구현하기 위해서 빛의 3원색인 적, 녹, 청색의 형광색소를 적절하게 배합하여 단일층 백색광을 얻었다. 개별적인 적색, 녹색, 청색 유기고분자 발광소자의 성능이 가장 우수한 특성을 조사한 후 최적화된 값으로 백색유기발광소자를 제작하였다. PVK와 Bu-PBD를 각각 70wt%, 30wt%로 혼합한 용액에 Nile Red(0.015mol%), Coumarin6(0.04mol%), TPB(3mol%)를 각각 첨가하여 백색발광소자를 제작하였을 때 구동전압이 20V에서 휘도 785cd/$m^2$, 색좌표가 (0.32, 0.34)인 백색광을 얻었다

Systematic Approaches for Blue Light-emitting Polymers by Introducing Various Naphthalene Linkages into Carbazole Containing PPV Derivatives

  • Poly(2,3-naphthalenevinylene-alt-N-ethylhexyl-3,6-carbazolevinylene), 2,3-PNCPV, poly(2,6-naphthalene vinylenealt- N-ethylhexyl-3,6-carbazolevinylene), 2,6-PNCPV, and poly(1,4-naphthalenevinylene-alt-N-ethylhexyl-3,6- carbazolevinylene), 1,4-PNCPV were synthesized through the Wittig polycondensation reaction. The conjugation lengths of the polymers were controlled by differently linked naphthalenes in the polymer main chain. The resulting polymers were completely soluble in common organic solvents, and exhibited good thermal stability at up to $400^{\circ}C$. The synthesized polymers showed UV-visible absorbance and photoluminescence (PL) in the ranges of 357-374 nm and 487-538 nm, respectively. The carbazole and 2,3-linked naphthalene containing 2,3-PNCPV showed a blue PL peak at 487 nm. A single-layer light-emitting diode was fabricated with an ITO/polymer/Al configuration. The electroluminescence (EL) emission of 2,3-PNCPV was shown at 483 nm.

PPV-Copolymer를 이용한 고분자 EL소자의 제작 및 특성연구 (Synthesis and Characteristics of Polymer Electroluminescent Device Using PPV-Copolymer)

  • In this study, It is to synthesize PPV-copolymer and to make polymer electroluminesence device in single layer of ITO/PPV -copolymer/metal. and then it has been realized basic characteristics for display device through analysis and recognized application possibility by luminous material. PPV-copolymer is used spin coating method and electrode is evaporated of vacuum deposition method by changing materials. The result of experiment, The PPV-copolymer used this study emitted blue color, could be discovered a change of emttion characteristic by electrode material.

Transparent carbon nanotube field emission devices for field emission display and lamp

  • A simple new method to fabricate transparent carbon nanotube field emission devices was developed. The highly graphitized single wall carbon nanotubes were attached on Sn/ITO glass by arc discharge method. Post heat treatments below the deformation temperature of soda-lime glass guaranteed a good mechanical adhesion and electrical contact of the nanotubes. The Sn layer was oxidized below $400^{\circ}C$ and became transparent. As increasing the oxidation temperatures, the emission properties became stable and life time of emitter has been increased.

Synthesis and Luminescent Properties of Blue Light Emitting Polymers Containing a 4,4' or 3,3'-Linked Biphenyl Unit

  • Poly[4,4'(3,3')-biphenylenevinylene-alt-2-methoxy-5-(2-ethylhexyloxy)-1,4-phenylene-vinylene], 4,4'(3,3')-PBPMEH-PPV, and poly[4,4'(3,3')-biphenylenevinylene-alt-N-ethylhexyl-3,6-carbazolevinylene], 4,4'(3,3')-PBPCAR-PPV, of varying effective conjugation lengths, were synthesized by the well-known Wittig condensation polymerization between the appropriate biphenyl diphosphonium salts and dialdehyde monomers such as carbazole or dialkoxyphenyl dialdehyde. The conjugation lengths of the polymers were controlled by biphenyl linkages (4,4' or 3,3'). The resulting polymers were highly soluble in common organic solvents and exhibited good thermal stability up to $300^{\circ}C$. The synthesized polymers showed UV-visible absorbance and photoluminescence (PL) in the ranges of 314-400 nm and 430-507 nm, respectively. Carbazole and 3,3'-biphenyl containing 3,3'-PBPCAR-PPV showed a blue PL peak at 430 nm. A single-layer light-emitting diode was fabricated in a configuration of ITO/polymer/Al. Electroluminescence (EL) emission of 3,3'-PBPCAR-PPV was shown at 455 nm.

  • A series of new light-emitting random copolymers with fully conjugated structure was prepared, for the first time through the well-known Gilch polymerization between 1,4-bis(chloromethyl)-2-ethylhexyloxy-5-methoxybenzene and 2,5-bis(bromomethyl)thiophene monomers in different ratios. The synthesized polymers (on thin film) showed the maximum wavelength of UV-visible absorbance and photoluminescence (PL) near 500 nm and near 600 nm, respectively. A single-layer light-emitting diode device, which has a simple ITO (indium-tin oxide)/polymer/Al configuration, was fabricated by spin-coating of polymers and then vacuum evaporation of Al metal. The threshold bias of PMEHPVTVs was in the range of 3.5-10 V. As in the PL spectra, the maximum wavelength of light emission near 600 nm was also shown in electroluminescence (EL) spectra of PMEHPVTVs when the operating voltage was about 7 - 14 V.

  • Electrolunlinescent devices based on conjugated polymer emitting materials have been much attracted possible applications for multicolor flat panel display, since the conjugated polymers have a small band gap emitting obtained at a low driving voltage. In this paper, we fabricated the single layer EL device using poly(3-hexylthiophene) as emitting material Electroluminescence(EL) and I-V-L characteristics of indium-tin-oxide[ITO]P3HT/AI device with a various thickness were investigated. It was demonstrate that the I-V characteristics depend, not the voltage but the electric- field strength, The current is dependent on the electric filed and not on the applied voltage, indicating that the carriers are injected by a tunneling process. In the device, the barrier to hole injection is only 0.5eV and the barrier to electron injection is 1.5eV.
