  • In this paper, the algorithm and the computer simulation of a effective homing navigation system are presented. it is a combination of Path integration by using population coding and neural network and simple avoidance obstacle algorithm. Also, through the computer simulation, we demonstrated the feasibility of the suggested method.

  • This paper compares two methods of GPS/INS integration ; tightly-coupled integration ana loosely-coupled integration. In the tightly -coupled method an integrated Kalman filter is designed to process raw GPS measurement data for state update and INS data for propagation. The loosely-coupled integration method uses the solution outputs from a stand-alone GPS receiver for update. The loosely-coupled method is simpler and can readily be applied to off-the-self receivers and sensors while the tightly-coupled integration requires access to raw measurement mechanism of the receiver. Simulation result show that the tightly-coupled integration system exhibits better performance and robustness than loosely-coupled integration method.

  • 해상관제서비스(VTS, Vessel Traffic Service)에서 사용되는 대부분의 해상감시레이더(SSR, Sea Surveillance Radar)는 마그네트론 기반의 Non-Coherent 방식이 사용되고 있으며, 표적에 대한 탐지 성능을 만족시키기 위하여 신호 대 잡음비(SNR, Signal to Noise Ratio) 개선 기능이 있는 펄스 적분(Pulse Integration) 기법을 사용하고 있다. 특히, 펄스 적분 기법은 신호 대 잡음비의 개선을 통하여 표적 탐지 성능에 중요한 영항을 미칠 뿐만 아니라, 신호 간섭(Interference) 및 스파이크 잡음(Noise Spike)을 개선하는 효과를 갖는다. 본 논문에서는 Non-Coherent 레이더를 사용하는 VTS 시스템에 펄스 적분 기법을 적용하기 위해 MATLAB을 이용한 모의실험을 수행하고, 자주 사용되는 펄스 적분 기법들 간의 성능 분석을 통해 최적의 펄스 적분 기법을 검증하고자 한다.

An Internet-based computing framework for the simulation of multi-scale response of structural systems

  • This paper presents a new Internet-based computational framework for the realistic simulation of multi-scale response of structural systems. Two levels of parallel processing are involved in this frame work: multiple local distributed computing environments connected by the Internet to form a cluster-to-cluster distributed computing environment. To utilize such a computing environment for a realistic simulation, the simulation task of a structural system has been separated into a simulation of a simplified global model in association with several detailed component models using various scales. These related multi-scale simulation tasks are distributed amongst clusters and connected to form a multi-level hierarchy. The Internet is used to coordinate geographically distributed simulation tasks. This paper also presents the development of a software framework that can support the multi-level hierarchical simulation approach, in a cluster-to-cluster distributed computing environment. The architectural design of the program also allows the integration of several multi-scale models to be clients and servers under a single platform. Such integration can combine geographically distributed computing resources to produce realistic simulations of structural systems.

  • 항공용 SIL은 항공전자시스템의 통합 및 검증에 사용되는 통합시험환경이다. 최근에는 항공전자시스템의 요구도 검증을 시스템 통합 측면에서부터 충분히 고려하기 위하여 항공용 SIL 분야의 개발 참여를 비행체 요구분석 단계부터로 앞당기고 있으며, 비행체의 체계종합 일정에 영향을 주지 않도록 항공용 SIL의 개발 비용 및 기간을 최소화하기 위한 노력을 꾸준히 진행하고 있는 추세이다. 본 논문에서는 항전체계 검증에 사용되는 항공용 SIL의 모델링 방법 표준화를 통한 개발기간/비용 단축 및 유지보수성 증대를 위하여 항공용 SIL에 적용 가능한 모델링 형식론 기반의 항공용 시뮬레이션 모델 프레임워크(ASMF)를 제안한다.

  • VLSI(Very Large Scale Integration)와 WSI(Wafer Scale Integration)와 같은 통합기술로 인해 큰 용량의 메모리 대량생산이 가능 하게 된 지금 Redundancy는 메모리 칩의 제조와 결함이 있는 셀을 지닌 디바이스를 치료하는데 광범위하게 사용되어져왔다. 메모리칩의 밀도가 증가함에 따라 결함의 빈도 또한 증가한다. 많은 결함이 있다면 어쩔 수 없겠지만 적은 결함이 발생한 경우에는 해당 다이를 reject 시키는 것 보다는 수선해서 사용하는 것이 메모리생산 업체 입장에서는 보다 효율적이고 원가 절감 차원에서 필수적이다. 이와 같은 이유로 laser repair라는 공정이 필요하고 laser repair공정의 정확한 타깃을 설정하기 위해 redundancy analysis가 필요하게 되었다. CRA시뮬레이션은 기존의 redundancy analysis 알고리즘의 개념에서 벗어나 결함 유형별로 시뮬레이션한 후 RA를 진행함으로써 RA에 소요되는 시간을 절약함으로써 원가 경쟁력 강화를 할 수 있다.

  • Power system analysis is generally based on computer simulation and time-domain simulation is used to assess it's dynamic performance. This paper deals with the selection of proper integration engine for large-scale power system dynamic simulation. Simulation results obtained from the selected algorithm are compared to those of commercial program.

Integration of Stress-Strain Rate Equations of CASM

  • In transportation geotechnical engineering, stress-strain behavior of earth structures has been analyzed by numerical simulations with the implemented plasticity constitutive model. It is a fact that many advanced plasticity constitutive models on predicting the mechanical behavior of soils have been developed as well as experimental research works for geotechnical applications in the past decades. In this study, recently developed, a unified constitutive model for both clay and sand, which is referred to as CASM (clay and sand model), was compared with a classical constitutive model, Cam-Clay model. Moreover, integration methods of stress-strain rate equations using CASM were presented for simulation of undrained and drained triaxial compression tests. As a conclusion, it was observed that semi-implicit integration method has more improved accuracy of capturing strain rate response to applied stress than explicit integration by the multiple correction and iteration.

  • The present study focuses on the effect of staggered integration factor (SIF) on Morton effect simulation results. The Morton effect is a synchronous rotordynamic instability problem caused by the temperature differential across the journal in fluid film bearings. Convection and conduction of heat in the thin film displaces the hot spot, which is the hottest circumferential position in the thin film, from -20 to 40 degrees ahead of the high spot, where the minimum film clearance is experienced. The temperature differential across the journal causes a bending moment and the corresponding thermal bow in the rotating frame acts like a distributed synchronous excitation in the fixed frame. This thermal bow may cause increased vibrations and continued growth of the synchronous orbit into a limit cycle. The SIF is developed assuming that the response of the rotor-lubricant-bearing dynamic system is much quicker than that of the bearing-journal thermal system, and it is defined as the ratio between the simulation time of the thermal system and the rotor-spinning period. The use of the SIF is unavoidable for efficient computing. The value of the SIF is chosen empirically by the software users as a value between 100 and 400. However, the effect of the SIF on Morton effect simulation results has not been investigated. This research produces simulation results with different values of SIF.

Design of an Integrated Inductor with Magnetic Core for Micro-Converter DC-DC Application

  • This paper presents a design procedure of an integrated inductor with a magnetic core for power converters. This procedure considerably reduces design time and effort. The proposed design procedure is verified by the development of an inductor model dedicated to the monolithic integration of DC-DC converters for portable applications. The numerical simulation based on the FEM (finite elements method) shows that 3D modeling of the integrated inductor allows better estimation of the electrical parameters of the desired inductor. The optimization of the electrical parameter values is based on the numerical analysis of the influence of the geometric parameters on the electrical characteristics of the inductor. Using the VHDL-AMS language, implementation of the integrated inductor in a micro Buck converter demonstrate that simulation results present a very promising approach for the monolithic integration of DC-DC converters.
