차량 충돌 해석을 통한 중앙분리대의 최적 성능 설계 (Optimal Performance Design for Concrete Median Barrier with Crashworthiness Analysis)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop an optimal performance design ova concrete median barrier using the design of experiment and crash simulation which is done by Pam-Crash, one of the commercial crash simulation software. A formula of characteristic value was suggested to obtain an optimal performance design considering all of von Mises stress, volume and acceleration at center of gravity of a heavy truck. An optimal design of a concrete median barrier was obtained by the analysis of variance based on design of experiment and crash simulation. A crash simulation with the optimal design was accomplished in order to verify the suitability of the suggested formula and the proper application of the design of experiment. The obtained optimal design was satisfied for a domestic design regulation of a concrete median barrier.

  • Diverse problems in wind environment has occurred through rapid urbanization and growth of high-rise building numbers, This study aims to propose the CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulation method and evaluation standard of wind environment in site planning of high rise apartment housing. The CFD simulation method proposed in this study is not existing detail simulation, but it is the method that a designer can correct and develop the design through immediate evaluation of design options in concept design phase. Therefore, the proposed CFD simulation method of wind environment in this study uses the BIM based CFD tool in which the 3D model in concept design phase can be used as for the CFD simulation. In this paper, the study examines existing evaluation standards of comfortableness level in wind environment for pedestrian near buildings, and selects new evaluation method which is possible to apply to the proposed CFD simulation method. In addition, it is to examine calculation time-spending and appropriate mesh division method for finding CFD result which is useful to find the best design options in aspect of wind environment in concept design phase. Furthermore, it proposes the wind environment evaluation method through BIM based CFD simulation.

  • Purpose: Since most simulation programs take the interface that lists up all the input variables representing all the functionalities, users must know where design variables of an Energy Conservation Measure (ECM) are located and also know what values are appropriate. This is why practitioner designers feel frustrated when they attempt to use simulation. The final objective of this study is to provide a building energy modeling guideline for practitioners in various fields such as architectural design and MEP. Method: As the first step of the modeling guideline, this study provides the Level of Detail (LOD) for simulation modeling of primary ECMs considering the design information available in each design phase. It is prepared by literature review, simulation functionality investigation, and field experts' survey. Result: The proposed simulation LOD offers a milestone at each design phases concerning what design variable and attributes need to be developed with how much of details in order to meet the project goal. Also each design team can set up a simulation usecase considering organizational characteristics based on the proposed LOD.

  • Monte-Carlo simulation technique has advantages over deterministic simulation in various engineering analysis since Monte-Carlo simulation can take into consideration of scattering of various design variables, which is inherent characteristics of physical world. In this work, Monte-Carlo simulation of steady-state cornering behavior of a truck with design variables like hard points and busing stiffness. The purpose of the simulation is to improve understeer gradient of the truck, which exhibits a small amount of instability when the lateral acceleration is about 0.4g. Through correlation analysis, design variables that have high impacts on the cornering behavior were selected, and significant performance improvement has been achieved by appropriately changing the high impact design variables.

  • This paper aims to propose a design for simulation systems for container terminal operation evaluation. The systems cover both terminal design simulation for medium and long tern decision making and terminal operations simulation for day to day decision making. And both systems include the container terminal operation components, quay, yard and gate operations. For the flexible and efficient application of the systems, we designed the systems with three modules such as "Define Module"."Simulation Module" and "Animation Module". "Animation Module".ule&".ot;.

  • ;Recently the sheet forming simulation technology revealed great progress in the sense of practical application in the automotive, electric/electronics and aviation/space industries. The goal of sheet forming simulation is to embedded in the design engineering system which is consisted by the analysis and synthesis modules. This design simulation system predicts the slackness of sheet and estimate the formability, and search the optimum material/forming/structure conditions. This OVER-ALL OPTIMUM DESIGN can be classified as follow; 1. ANALYZING PROCEDURE: Numerical simulation based on nonlinear theories -geometry, material and friction nonlinearities- 2. OPTIMIZATION PROCEDURE: Optimum design based on mathematical programing and AI technologies, those are implemented in CAD/CAM/CAE System - Concurrent Engineering System-. In this paper, four subjects will be discussed; (1) State of arts of computer simulation technologies in Japan. (2)History of sheet forming simulation. (3) Benchmark problems. 시뮬레이션 모델기반 국방체계 설계를 위한 역방향 시뮬레이션 (A Reverse Simulation for Developing Defense Systems based on Simulation Models)

  • 시뮬레이션 모델을 통해 가상 전장에서 국방체계의 효과도를 분석하는 것을 순방향 시뮬레이션이라고 할 때, 높은 효과도를 가지는 국방체계를 설계하기 위해서는 역방향 시뮬레이션이 요구된다. 즉 효과도 분석 모델을 바탕으로 높은 효과도를 달성하기 위한 군사 장비들의 제원 및 성능, 그리고 운용 전술을 역으로 도출해야 한다. 하지만 역모델을 도출할 수 없는 시뮬레이션 모델의 특성상 역방향 시뮬레이션은 많은 순방향 시뮬레이션 반복을 요구하므로 효율성의 문제를 초래한다. 본 논문에서는 반복 횟수를 줄임으로 역방향 시뮬레이션을 효율적으로 수행하기 위한 다양한 알고리즘을 제시하고, 실무자가 이들을 손쉽게 활용하기 위한 역방향 시뮬레이션 도구를 소개한다. 실무자는 본 도구를 바탕으로 다양한 역방향 시뮬레이션 알고리즘을 활용하여 국방체계 설계를 위한 역방향 시뮬레이션을 손쉽게, 또 효율적으로 수행할 수 있다. 전함의 방어 시스템 설계와 군사 네트워크 시스템 설계에 대한 사례 연구는 이를 입증한다.

  • This paper addresses the methodologies for manufacturing systems design. While a number of design methods are used in product or part design, methods for manufacturing systems design are rarely known. Two approaches, simulation and axiomatic design theory, are discussed with respective case examples. The usual purpose of using simulation is to identify the bottleneck of a manufacturing system or to evaluate its performance with the aim of configuring the manufacturing system. The simulation typically proceeds in steps such as problem definition, model building, numerical experimentation, analysis and evaluation. The axiomatic design method transforms customer attributes into functional requirements and repeats mapping processes between functional domain and physical one until a satisfactory level of refinement of the functional requirements and the design parameters is reached. Possible design alternatives are evaluated by applying the independence axiom as well as the information axiom.

  • Recently, the usage of containers in marine transportation is rapidly increasing. The problem of ship stability is important because of its direct influence to the loss of the human-life, ship, and merchandise. However, the assessment for ship stability during container loading/unloading in port is dependent on human experience only. On the other hand, the emerging information and communication technologies of shipbuilding industrial environments are rapidly changing. To respond to the situation, a new paradigm has been matured with new concepts such as the concrete method. Especially, all the efforts are shown to be concentrated to realize the concept of Simulation Based Design(SBD) based on three dimensional Computer Aided Design(CAD) model. In this paper, ship model-based simulation methodology for design and operation of ship is suggested, and for the verification of suggested methodology, the system for stability assessment of ship during container loading/unloading was developed using ENVISION, a general-purpose simulation system. The developed system consists of geometric modeling subsystem, basic calculation subsystem, and Computer Aided Engineering(CAE) subsystem. In addition, interface to CAE/CAD /simulation system such as SIKOB and ENVISION is provided.
