  • The EDISON is a platform that supports numerical analysis for problem solving in computational science and engineering. We provide a cloud service for users, and provide an environment to access and execution of the simulation service on the web. For now, the EDISON platform provides simulation services for eight applied field on computational science engineering. Users can check the numerical analysis result by web in the computational science and engineering platform. In addition, various services such as community activity with other researchers, and the configuration of simulation environment by user 's needs can be provided. A representative service of the EDISON platform is a web-based simulation service that performs numerical analysis for problem solving of various computational science and engineering. Currently, EDISON platform provides workbench simulation service. It is the web-based simulation execution environment, and result analysis to provide simulation regardless of various personal computing resource or environment in each numerical analysis. In this paper, we build an interface for pre and post processor that can be used in conjunction with the workbench-based simulation service provided by EDISON platform. We provide a development environment with interface that is implemented by applying a pre and post processor optimized for the simulation service. According to simulation and execution are performed by linking the new workbench-based simulation service to the pre and post processor.

Evaluating Service System Alternatives via a Computer Simulation-enabled MCDM Framework

  • Decision makers in the service industry must effectively cope with queuing problems, service capacity optimization, service efficiency and service quality problems. This study proposes a computer simulation-enabled MCDM framework that integrates computer simulation analysis, Taguchi method, expert opinion and multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) to assist decision makers in coping with decision problems. In this framework, Taguchi method is adopted to reduce the time required for the simulation experiment. Computer simulation analysis is adopted to obtain useful information for rapid decision-making without interrupting actual production. MCDM is used to select the optimal alternative. The illustrative result is extremely promising.

  • Research and development of grid computing ware mainly focused on high performance computing field such as large-scale computing operation. Many companies and organizations concentrated on existing computational grid. However, service grid focusing on enterprise environments has been noticed gradually. Grid service providers of service grid construct diverse and specialized services and provide service resources that have economic feasibility to grid users. But, service resources are geographically dispersed and divided into many classes and have individual owners and management policies. In order to utilize and allocate resources effectively, service grid needs a resource management model that handles and manages heterogeneous resources of service grid. Therefore, this paper presents the third party grid service marketplace model using virtualization to solve problems of grid service resource management. Also, this paper proposes resource dealing mechanism and pricing algorithms applicable for service grid. Empirical results show usefulness and efficiency of the third party grid service marketplace model in comparison with typical economic models for grid resource management such as single auction model and double auction model.

사용자 인지 서비스 가용도의 시뮬레이션 모델 (Simulation Model for User-Perceived Service Availability)

  • 전통적인 시스템 차원에서의 신뢰도 분석 모형에서 탈피하여 사용자가 인지하는 서비스 가용도에 대한 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 우선 서비스 가용도 모형에 대해 살펴보고 이의 근간을 이루는 UBG에 대하여 논하였다. 그리고 사용자 모델, 시스템 모델 및 서비스 모델을 복합적으로 고려하여 서비스 가용도를 산출하는 시뮬레이션 모델을 제안하였다. 아울러 예제를 통하여 사용자 모델의 UBG와 시스템 모델을 작성하고 이를 토대로 서비스 모델을 정의하는 일련의 과정을 보여 주었다. 그리고 시스템 모델과 UBG의 여러 파라메타들이 서비스 가용도에 미치는 영향에 대해 살펴보았다.

  • In this paper, a simulation model for assessing the impact of alternative field service engineer replenishment policies is introduced. The end-to-end supply chain simulation model is created using a discrete-event and agent-based simulation model, which enables accurate description of key individual entities in the investigated supply chain, such as field service engineers. Once the model is validated with the historical data, it is used to assess the impacts of field service engineer replenishment policies for a major printing equipment manufacturing firm.In the case study, newly proposed replenishment policies for post-sale distribution supply chain are assessed for the level of service improvement to end customers.

동태적 정보서비스 품질 관리 모델 (Dynamic Information Service Quality Model)

  • The information service management models developed thus far have put their focuses mostly on technical dimensions of information systems (IS), finding their rationale from the goods-dominant logic (GDL) that IS as goods has value in itself. Information systems, however, is nothing more than a mechanism by which value is delivered to the users. According to the service-dominant logic (SDL), value is created and determined not at the time serve is made by the providers but at the time it is consumed by the users. The users therefore should be regarded as active value creators not as passive consumers of the value delivered by the providers. Based on the service-dominant logic, DISQM (Dynamic Information Service Quality Model) is developed. DISQM's backbone is designed in causal loop diagrams referring to and reinterpreting in systems thinking the 'Parasuraman, Zeithaml & Berry's GAP Model' and 'SERVQUAL' as an operational tool for the GAP Model, and the main IS success constructs are mapped onto the model exploiting the 'DeLone & MacLean's IS Success Model'. With VENSIM simulation software, this paper also shows how DISQM works in computer-simulation settings. After confirming DISQM's validity with the base simulation run, two scenarios are developed for the exemplary purpose and tested in terms of IS quality, service quality, and net benefits from the service for the public information service. Implications from the simulation runs are also discussed.

  • The purpose of this paper is to develop a port simulation program for Inchon Port. The arrival and departure data from Inchon Port are analyzed, several probability density functions for the interval time and service time are estimated, and the berthing rules are constructed based on experts experiences. The port simulation program is written in visual basic considering the interarrival p.d.f., service rate p.d.f., berthing rules, and dual-dock system, and is used to analyze the effects of the changes in ship arrival rate and service rate upon the demurrage. It is expected that we can use the simulation results in order to prepare proper service level and to evaluate the appropriate investment strategy to be planned.

  • As users' needs for customized services increase, the service provision method is changing from a vertical structural service provision method to a horizontal structural service provision method. This paradigm shift has led to a change from the way existing users find the content they want to find and provide customized needs of users by content providers. With the recent development of smartphones and various AI technologies, demand for providing seamless services such as smartphones is increasing in automobiles. However, it is difficult to provide services in line with changes in this service paradigm because automobile services provide services centered on finished car manufacturers rather than individually providing services tailored to user needs. In this paper, we develop a Node-RED-based dynamic vehicle service simulation tool so that users can use the service they want in cars. The simulation tool developed provides a simulation environment for services authored by the user using NodeRed by writing, registering, and using NodeRed.

  • The main idea behind the Intelligent Networks (IN) concept is the separation of switching functionality from the service control, in order to meet various service requirements of subscribers and development of new services in time. On the increase of subscriber and for high quality of service, the IN upgrades its service systems, and there are a number of ways depending on the system architecture and the characteristics of services. This paper compares two alternatives, traces the performance of them by means of the simulation technique, and finally puts a rule to select one of them.

  • 최근 경제는 제조업에서 서비스업으로 이동하고 있기 때문에 서비스 공급사슬을 이해하는 것이 중요하다. 그러나, 공급사슬과 관련된 기존연구의 대부분은 제조업에 집중하고 있다. 이러한 상황을 극복하기 위해서, 서비스 공급사슬을 조사하고 분석할 필요가 있다. 시뮬레이션은 복잡한 시스템을 분석하고 설계하는데 가장 자주 사용되는 기법 중에 하나이다. 서비스 공급사슬은정교한 설계 단계가 필요한 복잡하고 거대한 시스템이다. 특히, 서비스 공급사슬의 성과를 예측하기 위해서 서비스 공급사슬을 구성하고 있는 구성요소 사이의 동적인 상호작용의 행위를 밀접하게 조사하는 것이 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 첫 번째로 서비스공급사슬의 개념적 모델이 개발된다. 다음으로 개발된 서비스 공급사슬의 개념적 모델에 대한 시뮬레이션 모델을 개발하기위한 새로운 절차를 제시한다. 시뮬레이션 모델링의 절차는 UML 분석과 설계 도구를 이용하며 ARENA 시뮬레이션 언어로 구현된다. 제안된 절차의 두 가지 주요한 특성은 서비스 공급사슬을 설계하는데 체계적인 절차의 정의와 또한 ARENA 시뮬레이션 언어로 개념적 모델의 변환에 대한 규칙을 제공한다. 본 연구의 결과는 서비스 공급사슬의 지식을 개선하는데 이용될 수 있으며, 또한 서비스 공급사슬 시뮬레이션 모델의 개발을 효율적으로 할 수 있도록 지원한다.
