Nowadays, there are a lot of Korean documents, which often need to be identified in one of printed or handwritten text. Early methods for the identification use structural features, which can be simple and easy to apply to text of a specific font, but its performance depends on the font type and characteristics of the text. Recently, the bag-of-words model has been used for the identification, which can be invariant to changes in font size, distortions or modifications to the text. The method based on bag-of-words model includes three steps: word segmentation using connected component grouping, feature extraction, and finally classification using SVM(Support Vector Machine). In this paper, bag-of-words model based method is proposed using SURF(Speeded Up Robust Feature) for the identification of machine printed and handwritten text in Korean documents. The experiment shows that the proposed method outperforms methods based on structural features.

This research centers on studying the function and characteristic of fashion illustration for advertisement and publication which is, among plenty of fashion illustration's functions, the commercial one. Here are some purposes of the research. First, it presents the function of fashion illustration. Second, under the contemporary circumstance of specialization and subdivision. It givers people the better understanding of fashion illustration by providing a variety of its classification bases other than the typical, simple grouping of style drawing and fashion illustration. Third, this research helps fashion illustration establish itself as commercial art by showing how fashion illustration is utilized in the field as a part of the fashion industry. The methods and contents of the research are described that the concept of fashion illustration, characteristic, classification bases and commercial function are presented and than the data of fashion illustration which hale been used as goods since 1990 in the nation are selected in order to analyze the media for the application of fashion illustration. its expression methods, factors and images. By doing so, advertising fashion illustration are much less than those of published fashion illustration and even most cases of advertising fashion illustration are related just to poster advertisement such as magazines, fashion events or public subscription. The published fashion illustration isn't also attracting the public since it focuses on fashion information books, fashion magazines or fashion -clothing books. Another finding is that the expression style of fashion illustration is not various or distinctive. The expression remains in the trends of painting, figurative drawing, sometimes adopts post-modernism which is reflected in popular cartoon and figures exaggerates or simplifies the human body. The image of fashion illustration is simple. casual or feminine in the rough. For the development of commercial fashion illustration, it is required to produce fashion illustrators, not works but goody, with various concepts appealing to the public.
Objective : To investigate the efficiency of diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) fiber-tracking based neuronavigation and assess its usefulness in the preoperative surgical planning, prognostic prediction, intraoperative course and outcome improvement. Methods : Seventeen patients with cerebral masses adjacent to corticospinal tract (CST) were given standard magnetic resonance imaging and DTI examination. By incorporation of DTI data, the relation between tumor and adjacent white matter tracts was reconstructed and assessed in the neuronavigation system. Distance from tumor border to CST was measured. Results : The sub-portion of CST in closest proximity to tumor was found displaced in all patients. The chief disruptive changes were classified as follows : complete interruption, partial interruption, or simple displacement. Partial interruption was evident in seven patients (41.2%) whose lesions were close to cortex. In the other 10 patients (58.8%), delineated CSTs were intact but distorted. No complete CST interruption was identified. Overall, the mean distance from resection border to CST was 6.12 mm (range, 0-21), as opposed to 8.18 mm (range, 2-21) with simple displacement and 2.33 mm (range, 0-5) with partial interruption. The clinical outcomes were analyzed in groups stratified by intervening distances (close, <5 mm; moderated, 5-10 mm; far, >10 mm). For the primary brain tumor patients, the proportion of completely resected tumors increased progressively from close to far grouping (42.9%, 50%, and 100%, respectively). Five patients out of seven (71.4%) experienced new neurologic deficits postoperatively in the close group. At meantime, motor deterioration was found in six cases in the close group. All patients in the far and moderate groups received excellent (modified Rankin Scale [mRS] score, 0-1) or good (mRS score, 2-3) rankings, but only 57.1% of patients in the close group earned good outcome scores. Conclusion : DTI fiber tracking based neuronavigation has merit in assessing the relation between lesions and adjacent white matter tracts, allowing prediction of patient outcomes based on lesion-CST distance. It has also proven beneficial in formulating surgical strategies.
Locating exact position of facial components is a key preprocessing for realizing highly accurate and reliable face recognition schemes. In this paper, we propose a simple but powerful method for detecting isolated facial components such as eyebrows, eyes, and a mouth, which are horizontally oriented and have relatively dark gray levels. The method is based on the shape-resolving locally optimum thresholding that may guarantee isolated detection of each component. We show that pure facial regions can be determined by grouping facial features satisfying simple geometric constraints on unique facial structure. In the test for over 1000 images in the AR -face database, pure facial regions were detected correctly for each face image without wearing glasses. Very few errors occurred in the face images wearing glasses with a thick frame because of the occluded eyebrow -pairs. The proposed scheme may be best suited for the later stage of classification using either the mappings or a template matching, because of its capability of handling rotational and translational variations.
Two different types of molecular markers, simple sequence repeat (SSR) and single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP), were used to measure genetic diversity among five Korean, eight Thai, and three wild soybeans. For SSR analysis, a total of 20 markers were surveyed to detect polymorphisms. For SNP analysis, four primers were designed from consensus sequence regions on disease resistance protein homolog genes, and used to amplify the genomic region. The PCR products were sequenced. A number of polymorphic SSR and SNP bands were scored on all genotypes and their genetic similarity was measured. Clustering analysis was performed independently on both types of markers. Clustering based on SSR markers separated the genotypes into three main groups originated from Korea, Thailand, and wild soybeans. On the other hand, two main groups were classified using SNP analysis. It seemed that SSR was more informative than SNP in this study. This may be due to the fact that SNP was surveyed on the smaller genomic region than SSR. Grouping based on the combined data of both markers revealed similar results to that of SNP rather than that of SSR. This might be due to the fact that more loci from SNP were considered to measure genetic relatedness than those from the SSR.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to compare and analyse dieting practices and tendencies in 2010 and 2015 using big data. Methods: Keywords related to diet were collected from the portal site Naver from January 1, 2010 until December 31, 2010 for 2010 data and from January 1, 2015 until December 31, 2015 for 2015 data. Collected data were analyzed by simple frequency analysis, N-gram analysis, keyword network analysis, and seasonality analysis. Results: The results show that exercise had the highest frequency in simple frequency analysis in both years. However, weight reduction in 2010 and diet menu in 2015 appeared most frequently in N-gram analysis. In addition, keyword network analysis was categorized into three groups in 2010 (diet group, exercise group, and commercial weight control group) and four groups in 2015 (diet group, exercise group, commercial program for weight control group, and commercial food for weight control group). Analysis of seasonality showed that subjects' interests in diets increased steadily from February to July, although subjects were most interested in diets in July in both years. Conclusions: In this study, the number of data in 2015 steadily increased compared with 2010, and diet grouping could be further subdivided. In addition, it can be confirmed that a similar pattern appeared over a one-year cycle in 2010 and 2015. Therefore, dietary method is reflected in society, and it changes according to trends.

Sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) is an important oilseed crop grown in tropical and subtropical areas. The objective of this study was to investigate the genetic relationships among 129 sesame landraces and cultivars using simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers. Out of 70 SSRs, 23 were found to be informative and produced 157 alleles. The number of alleles per locus ranged from 3 - 14, whereas polymorphic information content ranged from 0.33 - 0.86. A distance-based phylogenetic analysis revealed two major and six minor clusters. The population structure analysis using a Bayesian model-based program in STRUCTURE 2.3.4 divided 129 sesame accessions into three major populations (K = 3). Based on pairwise comparison estimates, Pop1 was observed to be genetically close to Pop2 with $F_{ST}$ value of 0.15, while Pop2 and Pop3 were genetically closest with $F_{ST}$ value of 0.08. Analysis of molecular variance revealed a high percentage of variability among individuals within populations (85.84%) than among the populations (14.16%). Similarly, a high variance was observed among the individuals within the country of origins (90.45%) than between the countries of origins. The grouping of genotypes in clusters was not related to their geographic origin indicating considerable gene flow among sesame genotypes across the selected geographic regions. The SSR markers used in the present study were able to distinguish closely linked sesame genotypes, thereby showing their usefulness in assessing the potentially important source of genetic variation. These markers can be used for future sesame varietal classification, conservation, and other breeding purposes.
To increase device memory yield, many manufacturers use incorporated redundancy to replace faulty cells. In this redundancy technology, the implementation of an effective redundancy analysis (RA) algorithm is essential. Various RA algorithms have been developed to repair faults in memory. However, nearly all of these RA algorithms have low analysis speeds. The more densely compacted the memory is, the more testing and repair time is needed. Even if the analysis speed is very high, the RA algorithm would be useless if it did not have a normalized repair rate of 100%. In addition, when the number of added spares is increased in the memory, then the memory space that must be searched with the RA algorithms can exceed the memory space within the automatic test equipment. A very efficient RA algorithm using simple calculations is proposed in this work so as to minimize both the repair time and memory consumption. In addition, the proposed algorithm generates an optimal solution using a tree-based algorithm in each fault group. Our experiment results show that the proposed RA algorithm is very efficient in terms of speed and repair.

An useful and effective design method for the gas identification system is presented in this paper. The proposed gas identification system adopts hierarchical structure with two level rule base combining fuzzy sets with rough sets. At first, a hybrid genetic algorithm is used in grouping the array sensors of which the measured patterns are similar in order to reduce the dimensionality of patterns to be analyzed and to make rule construction easy and simple. Next, for low level identification, fuzzy inference systems for each divided group are designed by using TSK fuzzy rule, which allow handling the drift and the uncertainty of sensor data effectively. Finally, rough set theory is applied to derive the identification rules at high level which reflect the identification characteristics of each divided group. Thus, the proposed method is able to accomplish effectively dimensionality reduction as well as accurate gas identification. In simulation, we demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed methods by identifying five types of gases.
