The H.264/AVC standard obtained better performance than previous compression standards, but it also increased the computational complexity of CODEC simultaneously. Various techniques recently included at the KTA software developed by VCEG also were increasing its complexity. Especially adaptive interpolation filter has more complexity than two times due to development for coding efficiency. In this paper, we propose low-complexity filter bank to improve speed up of decoding and coding gain. We consists of filter bank of a fixed-simple filter for low-complexity and adaptive interpolation filter for high coding efficiency. Then we compensated using optimal filter at each macroblock-level or frame-level. Experimental results shows a similar coding efficiency compared to existing adaptive interpolation filter and decoding speed of approximately 12% of the entire decoder gained.
In this paper, we propose a fast mode decision method that determines the coding unit depth for enhancement layers to improve an encoding speed of a scalable video encoder based on HEVC. To decide the coding unit depth of the enhancement layer, firstly, the coding unit depth of the corresponded coding unit in the basement layer is employed. At this stage, the final CU depth is decided by calculating the rate-distortion costs of one lower depth to one upper depth of the referenced depth. The proposed method can reduce a computational load since it does not calculate the rate-distortion costs for all the depths of a target CU. We found that the proposed algorithm decreases encoding complexity of 26% with approximately 1.4% bit increment, compared with the simulcast encoder of the HM 4.0.
The vertical profiles of radiative flux and heating rate at King Sejong Station in West Antarctica were calculated with radiative transfe model by Chou and Suarez (1999) and Chou et al (2001). To run this model, the profiles of temperature, mixing ratios of water vapor and ozone at King Sejng Station were derived from ECMWF Reanalysis data. The surface temperature and albedo were also derived from NCEP/NCAR Reanalysis and CERES data. The radiative flux strongly depends on the cloud optical path length that was calculated using the measured W-h data and model by Chou and Lee(1996). Durins the period of $2000{\sim}2001$ (12 and 18 UTC), the correlation coefficient between calculated and measured downward solar fluxes at surface was 0.90 and the coefficient for downward longwave flux was 0.61. The calculated net heating rates of surface layer decreased during the same period, the trend of which was in accordance with the decrease of measured temperature.
The Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar(SHPB) has been the most widely used apparatus to characterize dynamic mechanical behavior of materials at high strain rates between $100s^{-1}$ and $10,000s^{-1}$. The SHPB test is based on the wave propagation theory which was developed to give the stress, strain and strain rate in the specimen using the strains measured in the incident and transmission bars. In this study, the SHPB was directly designed and fabricated for the dynamic mechanical properties of fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) composites. In addition, this apparatus was verified for the validity by comparing the strain data obtained through the high speed camera and Digital Image Correlation(DIC) during the high strain rate compression test of the self-reinforced polypropylene composite (SRPP) specimen.

Expanding services and productions for screen content videos recently, necessity of new compression techniques is emerging. The next-generation video coding standard is also considering specified coding tools for screen content videos, but it is still preliminary stage. In this paper, we investigate the characteristics of screen content videos for which we propose the quantization in spatial domain to improve coding efficiency. The proposed method directly employs quantization for residual signal without any transformations. The proposed method also applies adaptive coefficients prediction and in-loop filter for quantized residual signals in spatial domain based on the characteristics of screen content videos. As a results, the proposed method for the random access, the low-delay and the all-intra modes achieve bit-saving about 4.4%, 5.1%. and 4.9%, respectively.
Mizoribine (MZR) has been shown to possess immunosuppressive activity that selectively inhibits the proliferation of lymphocytes by interfering with inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase. The efficacy of MZR is not only in patients who have had renal transplantation, but also in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), lupus nephritis, and primary nephritic syndrome. Because the exact mechanism of its immunosuppressive action is not clear, the object of this study was to examine the ability of MZR to regulate the antigen presenting cells (APCs), dendritic cells (DCs). In this work, we tested whether MZR ($1{\sim}10\;{\mu}g/mL$) could inhibit the cross-presentation of DCs. DC2.4 cells ($H-2K^{b}$) or bone marrow-derived DCs (BM-DCs) generated from BM cells of C57BL/6 mouse ($H-2K^{b}$) were cultured in the presence of MZR with OVA-microspheres, and the amount of OVA peptide-class I MHC complexes was measured by a T cell hybridoma, B3Z, that recognizes OVA (257-264 : SIINFEKL)-$H-2K^{b}$ complex and expresses-galactosidase. MZR profoundly inhibited the expression of SIINFEKL-$H-2K^{b}$ complexes. This inhibitory activity of MZR appeared to affect the phagocytic activity of DCs. MZR also decreased IL-2 production when we examined the effects of MZR on $CD4^{+}$ T cells. These results provide an understanding of the mechanism of immunosuppressive activity of MZR on the inhibition of MHC-restricted antigen presentation and phagocytic activity in relation to their actions on APCs.

Background and Objectives : The purpose of the present study is to investigate the effect of vocal hygiene education for the female elementary school teachers. Materials and Method : Thirty healthy female elementary school teachers were enrolled for the study. We provided a vocal hygiene education to the half of them. Voice handicap index and acoustic parameters were measured before and 4 week after the education. The efficacy of vocal hygiene education was analyzed by Wilcoxon Signed-rank test. Results : The vocal hygiene group showed significant improvement both in the subjective and objective data after the education. However, the non-vocal hygiene group failed to show any improvement. In functional score, emotional score, jitter, shimmer, only Junior Class(JC) could find significant after the education. Only low career(LC) could find significant in subjective data. Conclusion : Vocal hygiene education may be useful in reducing vocal misuse and abuse associated with teaching, and can be an effective method to maintain and improve the vocal health of teachers.

Sixty-eight clinical isolates of Stenotrophomonas maltophilia from inpatients of 2 university hospitals in Taegu were epidemiologically analyzed by using the minimum inhibitory concentrations of 25 antimicrobial drugs, biochemical reaction, pulsed-field gel elctropgoresis (PFGE), and PCR with enterobacterial repetitive intergenic consensus sequences as primer (ERIC-PCR). 1. All the strains were susceptible to minocycline. More than 57% were susceptible to sulfisomidine (Su), ciprofloxacin (Ci), Ofloploxacin (Of), nalidixic acid (Na), and chloramphenicol (Cm), and $19{\sim}35%$ to ceftazidime (Cd), trimethoprim (Tp), Ticacillin-clavulanic acid, and cefoperazone-sulbactam. Most isolates were resistant to ${\beta}$-lactam antibiotics such as ampicillin (Ap), carbenicillin (Cb), cefotaxim (Ct), cefoxitin (Cx), and aminoglycosides including gentamicin (Gm), tobramycin (Tb), amikacin (Ak). 2. All the isolates were multiply resistant of 5 to 17 drugs and showed 40 different resistance pattern types. 3. All the strains showed very similar biochemical reactions except ${\beta}$-galactosidase and nitrate reduction test. Fourteen strains selected randomly were classified 10 different pattern type by PFGE and ERIC-PCR. These two methods showed identical result. Four strains isolated from wound in 1994 showed similar MIC pattern and identical API 20NE profile, PFGE, and ERIC-PCR pattern indicating episodes of cross-infection among patients. These results indicate that PFGE or ERIC-PCR profile has comparable discriminatory power for epidemiological typing of S. maltophilia.
To investigate whether the present-day active galaxies follow the same black hole mass vs. stellar velocity dispersion (MBH-$\sigma*$) relation as quiescent galaxies, we measured the velocity dispersions of a sample of local Seyfert 1 galaxies, for which black hole masses were measured via reverberation mapping. We measured stellar velocity dispersions from high S/N optical spectra centered on the Ca II triplet region (${\sim}8500^{\circ}A$), obtained at the Keck, Palomar, and Lick Observatories. For two objects, in which the Ca II triplet region was contaminated by nuclear emission, we used high-quality H-band spectra obtained with the OH-Suppressing Infrared Imaging Spectrograph and laser-guide star adaptive optics at the Keck-II Telescope. Combining our new measurements with data from the literature, we assemble a sample of 24 active galaxies with stellar velocity dispersions and reverberation MBH in the range of black hole mass 106< MBH /$M{\odot}$ < 109,toobtainthefirstreverberationmappingconstraintsontheslopeandintrinsicscatteroftheMBH- $\sigma*$ relation of active galaxies. Assuming a constant virial coefficient f for the reverberation MBH, we find a slope ${\beta}=3.55{\pm}0.60$ and the intrinsic scatter ${\sigma}int=0.43{\pm}0.08$ dex in the relation log (MBH/M${\odot}$)=$\alpha+\beta$ log(${\sigma}*$/200 km s-1), which are consistent with those found for quiescent galaxies. We derive an updated value of the virial coefficient f by finding the value which places the reverberation masses in best agreement with the MBH - $\sigma*$ relation of quiescent galaxies; using the quiescent MBH - $\sigma*$ relation determined by Gultekin et al. we find log f=0.72+0.09 (or $0.71{\pm}0.10$) with an intrinsic scatter of $0.44{\pm}0.07$ (or 0.46+0.07) dex. No correlations between f and parameters connected to the physics of accretion (such as the Eddington ratio or line-shape measurements) are found. The uncertainty of the virial coefficient remains one of the main sources of the uncertainty in black hole mass determination using reverberation mapping, and therefore also in single-epoch spectroscopic estimates of black hole masses in active galaxies.
Objectives : The aim of this study was to confirm whether or not coral has a preventive effect on development of atopic dermatitis induced by house mite(dermatophagoides pteronyssinus) in NC/Nga mice. Methods : This study was undertaken by using a reliable Atopic dermatitis mouse model demonstrating similar immune response. Lobophytum crassum was administered orally to NC/Nga mouse for 3 weeks. In order to verify the effectiveness of Lobophytum crassum in atopic dermatitis treatment, its role in immune factors were observed in NC/Nga mice. Results : ALT, AST, BUN and creatine levels were all within in the normal ranges in MC-1 200 and 400 (mg/kg) treated groups, indicating no induced toxicity. MC-1 200 and 400 (mg/kg) groups decreased of atopic dermatitis skin manifestation in NC/Nga mouse of MC-1 200 and 400 (mg/kg) groups compared to that of the control group and decreased the ratio of WBC and lymphocyte in blood. Also, MC-1 200 and 400 (mg/kg) groups significant decreased the ratio of CD4+, CD8+, CD11b+/Gr1+, B220/CD23 and CD4/CD25 immune cell ratio in ALN. Finally MC-1 200 and 400 (mg/kg) groups significantly increased the ratio of CD4+, CD8+, B220/CD23 and CD4/CD25 immune cells in DLN. Conclusions : Theses results suggested that Lobophytum crassum has suppressive effects on aberrant and overactive immunological activities in dermatophagoides pteronyssinus-induced dermatitis mice of NC/Nga.
