The subway is the transportation means most commonly used by the citizens of the metropolitan area along with the buses in the metropolitan area and major metropolitan municipalities. However, satisfaction with the signboards is low and the signboards need to be improved. In this study, we investigated the problem of guide signs of city hall and exchange area with L - shaped history structure for guide signs affecting route finding. As a result, it is necessary to confirm whether the moving distance is long and moving accurately to the desired destination due to the L - shaped historical structure in both the station and the alternate area. In both stations, the number of the guide signs, Problems such as installation position, height, other. In this study, the movement within the subway station is classified according to the space. The type of guide sign installation was defined, and the specific principles for guiding the movement route were proposed. This research is expected to be useful as an important basic data for the types and layout of subway stations.

Signboard plays a pivotal role in crafting the initial impression of a storefront and contributing to the overall aesthetics of the local environment. Since 2012, the South Korean government has been annually implementing signboard improvement projects as part of its commitment to enhance urban landscapes and invigorate local business districts. Particularly noteworthy in recent years is the government's emphasis on creating signborad that aligns with the characteristics of the cities. This study aimed to investigate the impact on stores and the local area when incorporating local characteristics into signboard, with a focus on the mediating roles of informativeness, entertainment, and irritation. A survey was conducted among 150 undergraduate and graduate students who had experience visiting areas with improved signboard. The findings indicate that local fit of signboards has a positive impact on intention to visit store and area by mediating informativeness and entertainment. On the other hand, irritation does not exert a significant influence within this structural relationship. The results of this study contribute to broadening the scholarly understanding of signboards and signboard improvement, highlighting the importance of incorporating local characteristics into signboard to small business owners and local government practitioners.

This study investigated the user's attitude to the nature trail called Gubulgil in Gunsan reservoir area and evaluated the quality of user's satisfaction of the trails and their facilities by importance-performance analysis (IPA). User's evaluation was achieved through questionnaire survey and total 283 pieces of subjects were used for the analysis. The results are as follows. Firstly, importance value of circularity of trails was very high, and it has great implication to ordinary trails which connect ecological, historical and cultural spots routinely and linearly. Secondly, through the IPA, relatively dissatisfied attributes were parking lots, direction boards, storytelling, convenient facilities and encountering of wildlife. Expansion of parking lots can cause the environmental disruption, so running a shuttle service from Gunsan downtown to the reservoir at weekends can be more reasonable. In case of ecological and historical information delivery, softwares like storytelling contents with sense of realism as well as hardwares of informative signboards are very important in nature trails. Encountering wildlife in trails is fascinating experience but it means visitors may disturb wildlife habitats. So route design should be done very carefully not to intrude their territories.

Paldalmun gate was built in 1794 as the southern gate of Suwon Hwaseong. The signboard's paintworks of Paldalmun gate was applied to the signboard of the state-run building in the 18th century. The signboard of Paldalmun gate was repainted along with the building when repaired in 1969. In that time, the signboard's paintworks during the reign of Jeongjo era was transformed. The purpose of this study is to restore the image of Jeongjo era paintworks on the Paldalmun's signboard, which has been modified since the 1960s due to modification. For the purpose of the examination, we examined the traces of paintworks remaining on the signboard of Paldalmun gate and examined several state-run signboards decorated with 'Yukhwamoon' paintings similar as the signboard of Paldalmun gate, which made around the 18th century. Through the above-mentioned researches, typical color features were identified in the decorated with 'Yukhwamoon' paintings on signboard in the 18th and 19th centuries. In addition, the type of pigment used in the signboard's paintwork of Paldalmun gate was verified through the 『Hwaseong Seongyeok Uigwe(華城城役儀軌)』 and the 『Han-gul Jeongri Uigwe(한글整理儀軌)』, while analyzing the characteristics of age-related deterioration according to the type of paintworks in various traces of pigment coatings remaining on the signboard of Paldalmun gate.

The purpose of this study was analyzing the features of architectural colors in Hongseong-gun and proposing environmental color design for regional identity color. According to the analysis, Hongseong's base colors are YR of low hue value and grayish tone colors. But a lot of signs and outdoor billboards mar the beauty of the environmental color. So it is more important to solve the problems as well as new environmental color design. The results are as follows; 1) Naepo Color Palette of 2009 Chungnam Public Design Master Plan would be an accepted principal for the contextual landscape image of Chungnam in macro perspective. 2) Outdoor signboards must be controlled and improved for the harmony of the buildings dominant colors. 3) Roof color would arrange R or grayish of deep tone colors those are similar balance of Hongseong base color YR, and gate color would have clear principles of the order such as chromatic or brightness contrast in housing. 4) Forming of future oriented image of Hongseong need to be considered first as to whether it is harmonious tones with existing local base colors.

Recently, a 4-col 7-row LED Screen that provides various information of major roads and local governments has been installed and operated. However, due to deterioration due to changes in temperature and humidity, deterioration due to static electricity, and mechanical stress, partial module failure of the display may occur, which is a major cause of missing information of vitally given to citizens. However, there have been frequent cases where the 4-col and 7-row LED Screen that have failed due to reasons such as installed location where the signboards are installed on the road and outdoor, the lack of monitoring means at all times, and the lack of manpower is often neglected for a long time. Following this flow, this paper proposes a method to detect defective modules by analyzing the images collected through the camera fixed to the front part of the LED display.

We present a fast algorithm for Korean text extraction and segmentation from subway signboards using smart phone sensors in order to minimize computational time and memory usage. The algorithm can be used as preprocessing steps for optical character recognition (OCR): binarization, text location, and segmentation. An image of a signboard captured by smart phone camera while holding smart phone by an arbitrary angle is rotated by the detected angle, as if the image was taken by holding a smart phone horizontally. Binarization is only performed once on the subset of connected components instead of the whole image area, resulting in a large reduction in computational time. Text location is guided by user's marker-line placed over the region of interest in binarized image via smart phone touch screen. Then, text segmentation utilizes the data of connected components received in the binarization step, and cuts the string into individual images for designated characters. The resulting data could be used as OCR input, hence solving the most difficult part of OCR on text area included in natural scene images. The experimental results showed that the binarization algorithm of our method is 3.5 and 3.7 times faster than Niblack and Sauvola adaptive-thresholding algorithms, respectively. In addition, our method achieved better quality than other methods.

Surveys for visitor's awareness and on-the-spot investigations at Odae Mountain National Park were conducted for activation of nature interpretation. As a result, many problems on observation trails as the object of the nature interpretation were identified. The nature interpretation is not functioning fully for the side of environmental education. The situation and problems of nature interpretation were analyzed in depth based on the survey of the visitors. In order to improve roles of the nature observation trails and solve the present problems immediately, suggestions are as the followings. I) Road resurfacing and space development needed to solve the problems of existing nature observation trail. 2) Public relations for nature observation trail and production of signboards promoting visitor's interest. 3) Development of nature observation trail used only for nature interpretation 4) Development of adequate Korean interpretation program based on systematic nature interpretation models from other developed countries

The objective of this study is to provide a townscape design guideline that harmonized with a historic landscape via condition investigation and landscape analysis of the cultural /commercial environment district where an improvement is a necessity. The followings are the conclusions: 1.To enhance the identity of Gyeongju, should pursue diversity in unity by making the image of architectural landscape a similar peculiarity. 2.The central commercial district where the tradition is valued and contemporary figures meet the tradition needs a landscape formation by CONTEXT. 3.Since a characteristic of the target area is a regional commercial center, to reduce its congestion, reforming the area to simple environment is required. 4.Induce buildings located on the streets with cultural properties to have Korean traditional tiled roof in order to fit in with their surroundings. 5.Make it a rule to partition a wall into tripartition, the wall surface exposed should be the same finishing materials. 6.Consider the visual aspect of pedestrians and a building's width, the recommendable height of the facade should be 3~3.6m. 7.For the design archetype of cornice, four traditional types based on Korean traditional eaves are suggested. 8.The design of signboards should break existing square-shapes, and seek a design to take advantage of icons that historicity and traditionalist of the city are expressed.

This study analyzed cases that applied hologram technology in the fashion industry in order to provide basic information for research on fashion marketing using hologram technology. The results of this study are as follows. A hologram was applied to fashion businesses in various ways including fashion shows, outdoor signboards, hologram windows or screens in stores, and launching shows or exhibitions. Most of these cases were foreign fashion brands, which utilized hologram technology actively for formulating a new brand image or for advertising products. Among Korean brands, however, there are not many cases of hologram application. Today, as-being the age of smart devices, the mobile advertisement market is growing rapidly among smart phone users. DKNY and Puma are providing information on styling through smart phone applications, and the Adidas stores in Germany also allow the customers to buy goods by entering a simple code through the smart phone. Recently, new devices are being introduced one by one, which display 2D digital contents in 3D holograms by combining mobile and hologram technologies. The marketing of fashion products is not just for supplying products but is required to satisfy the consumers' five senses. Therefore, the development of experiential contents based on the combination of mobile and hologram technologies will open new potential for profitable business models.
