The autocorrelation of an alternative binary offset carrier (AltBOC) signal provides an improved positioning accuracy because of its narrow main-peak. However, The AltBOC signal has a disadvantage that the autocorrelation of the AltBOC signal has multiple side-peaks which incur a severe positioning error. In this paper, we propose a generating method of an unambiguous correlation function for AltBOC signal tracking. Specifically, we first obtain symmetric partial correlation functions, and subsequently, we obtain an unambiguous correlation function by combining them. In numerical results, it is confirmed that the proposed correlation function provides better tracking error standard devation (TESD) performances comparing with the conventional correlation functions.

Binary offset carrier (BOC) signal synchronization is one of the most important steps to recover the transmitted information in global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) including Galileo and global positioning system (GPS). Generally, BOC signal synchronization is based on the correlation between the received and locally generated BOC signals. Thus, the multiple side-peaks in BOC autocorrelation are one of the main error sources in synchronizing BOC signals. Recently, a novel correlation function with reduced side-peaks was proposed for BOC signal synchronization by Julien [8]; however, Julien's correlation function not only still has the side-peaks, but also is only applicable to sine phased BOC(n, n), where n is the ratio of the pseudo random noise (PRN) code rate to 1.023 MHz. In this paper, we propose a new correlation function for BOC signal synchronization, which does not have any side-peaks and is applicable to general types of BOC signals, sine/cosine phased BOC(kn, n), where k is the ratio of a PRN chip duration to the period of a square wave sub-carrier used in BOC modulation. In addition, an efficient correlator structure is presented for generating the proposed correlation function.

A fast estimation method using wavelet transform for a time delay system is proposed. Main point of this method is to get the wavelet transform of the correlation between the input signal and delayed signal using transformed signals. But wavelet transform using Haar wavelet functions has basis with different phases and can offers a bisection method to estimate a time delay of a signal. Selective computation of the transform of correlation is performed and the computational complexity is reduced. Computational order of this method is O(N log N) and it is much love. than a simple correlation esimation when the length of signal is long.

This paper proposes a portable cable fault detection system with automatic fault distinction and distance measurement using time-frequency correlation and reference signal elimination method and automatic fault classification algorithm in order to have more accurate fault determination and location detection than conventional time domain refelectometry (TDR) system despite increased signal attenuation due to the long distance to cable fault location. The performance of the developed system method was validated via an experiment in the test field constructed for the standardized performance test of power cable fault location equipments. The performance evaluation showed that accuracy of the developed system is less than 1.34%. Also, an error of automatic fault type and location by detection of phase and peak value through elimination of the reference signal and normalization of correlation coefficient and automatic fault classification algorithm not occurred.

In this study, the proposed algorithm is a correlativity signal in a mobile wireless channel that has estimated the direction of arrival. The proposed algorithm applied the space average method in a MUSIC algorithm. The diagonal matrix of the space average method was changed to inverse the matrix and to obtain a new signal correlation matrix. The existing algorithm was analyzed and compared by applying a proposed signal correlation matrix to estimate the direction of arrival in a MUSIC algorithm. The experiment resulted in a proposed algorithm with a min-norm method resolution at more than $5^{\circ}$. It improved more than $2^{\circ}$ in a MUSIC algorithm.
The theoretical limit of the noise correlation between the signal and idler outputs of a nondegenerate optical parametric amplifier (NOPA) with a coherent state signal and vacuum state idler input can be enhanced if a non-vacuum coherent state idler input is employed. By choosing a balanced signal and idler input, the noise correlation is $1/{({\root}g + {\root}{g-1})}^2$, where g is the intensity gain of the NOPA, and that is superior to the prediced outputs with single signal input by approximately 3dB. The result is applicable to all the schemes that use the NOPA to produce a sub-shot noise light generation such as feed-back or feed-forward control.
In this paper, we propose an algorithm to improve DoA(direction of arrival) estimation performance of the subspace-based method by generating high robustness correlation matrix of the signals incident on the uniformly linear array antenna. The existing subspace-based DoA estimation method estimates the DoA by obtaining a correlation matrix and dividing it into a signal subspace and a noise subspace. However, the component of the correlation matrix obtained from the low SNR and small number of snapshots inaccurately estimates the signal subspace due to the noise component of the antenna, thereby degrading the DoA estimation performance. Therefore a robust correlation matrix is generated by arranging virtual signal vectors obtained from the existing correlation matrix in a sliding manner. As a result of simulation using MUSIC and ESPRIT, which are representative subspace-based methods,, the computational complexity increased by less than 2.5% compared to the existing correlation matrix, but both MUSIC and ESPRIT based on RMSE 1° showed superior DoA estimation performance with an SNR of 3dB or more.

Predicting precise specifications of differential mixed-signal circuits is a difficult problem, because analytically derived correlation between process variations and conventional specifications exhibits the limited prediction accuracy due to the phase unbalance, for most self-tests. This paper proposes an efficient prediction technique to provide accurate specifications of differential mixed-signal circuits in a system-on-chip (SoC) based on a nonlinear statistical nonlinear regression technique. A spectrally pure sinusoidal signal is applied to a differential DUT, and its output is fed into another differential DUT through a weighting circuitry in the loopback configuration. The weighting circuitry, which is employed from the previous work [3], efficiently produces different weights on the harmonics of the loopback responses, i.e., the signatures. The correlation models, which map the signatures to the conventional specifications, are built based on the statistical nonlinear regression technique, in order to predict accurate nonlinearities of individual DUTs. In production testing, once the efficient signatures are measured, and plugged into the obtained correlation models, the harmonic coefficients of DUTs are readily identified. This work provides a practical test solution to overcome the serious test issue of differential mixed-signal circuits; the low accuracy of analytically derived model is much lower by the errors from the unbalance. Hardware measurement results showed less than 1.0 dB of the prediction error, validating that this approach can be used as production test.

In this paper, we analyze the effects of estimation error in the active cancellation signal, which is intended to counter the pulsed-CW signal of a hostile radar. We also examine the effects of estimation error in maximum-likelihood estimation (MLE) and quadratic interpolation scheme from a radar signal active cancellation viewpoint. Then, we modify the correlation-based error compensation scheme which mitigates the estimation error of MLE to improve the performance of the active cancellation signal. Finally, we present simulation results to show that the correlation-based scheme has better performance than the other in terms of radar signal active cancellation.

In this paper, we measured and analyzed cross polarization discrimination(XPD), signal correlation coefficient($\rho$) and received signal level decrease, for the application of polarization diversity scheme in the up-link of microcell environments. We experimented in a dense building area, a dense residence area, a market area, a school area and etc at 1.9 GHz. Cross polarization discrimination (XPD) is about 6~11 dB, signal correlation coefficient($\rho$) is below 0.7 and received signal level decrease is smaller than 3 dB. The results of comparing polarization diversity with space diversity show that polarization diversity gain is about 2~5 dB higher in the various area. As a results, polarization diversity scheme is more effective than space diversity scheme in microcell environments.
